Just be careful buying at PA that you're not getting an old surplus or second hand battery. That's what they use to sell in their earlier days in Barrie.... .batteries from stripped out back up units.

They should look at the police report Bill, but to match the post above....... the lady that parked her car in the middle of the 6th and started walking home... and my son found the car in the white out. Police charged the lady and it's in the report... the insurance company from some magic "table" say he's at fault for hitting her from behind and have doubled his premiums already despite the fact they haven't even come to a settlement on his rode off car yet. As for a dash cam... in his case all you wouldn't have seen was white.. lol

..another reason not to have finger prints!

Lots of stick roofs up here.. mine included which was built from 2 x 12's x 26 feet long on 16" centers. Nothing wrong if properly rafter tied and properly attached to the top plate and ceiling joists. That said I think that it is a stick roof in the pictures for the main roof... but a neighbour of the owner told me the first report is the "staple plates" let go and if so that would = trusses.. but I'm pretty sure I watched them do stick roofs in the majority of the subdivision early 90's

When I got off work, it was snowing heavily and blowing to the point that visibility was almost zero. I made my way to the car and wondered how I was going to get home. I sat in the car while it warmed up and thought about my situation. I remembered my wife's advice that if I got caught in a blizzard, I should wait for a snowplow to come by and follow it. That way I would not have to worry about going off the road or getting stuck in a snow drift. Sure enough, in a little while, a snowplough went by and I pulled out and began to follow it. As I followed along behind the snowplough, I felt quite comfortable and smug as we continued on our way and I was not having any problem with the blizzard or road conditions. After some time had passed, I was somewhat surprised when the snowplough stopped. The driver got out of the cab and came back to my car. He signalled me to roll down my window and asked if I was all right, as I had been following him for a long time. I said that I was fine and told him of my wife's advice to follow a plow when caught in a blizzard. The driver replied it was okay with him and that I could continue to follow him if I wanted, but he wanted me to know that he was done with the Wal-Mart parking lot and was going over to Canadian Tire next.

Actually amazed it's already safety fenced to the laneway... roof has been shovelled.. yard cleared back to make room to get a boom truck in the front yard and you can see the plastic tarp on the roof to try and keep further water damage to a minimum. Not bad for less than 36 hours later.

Would be my natural reaction... someone noses out and the highway is clear, so you think at some point he'll hit the brakes and you go around the nose of the truck and carry on after a few expletives... only this guy didn't stop!

As noted Brian.. I have all steel roofs. Flat "farm style" on the shop and hangar and Steel Tile profiled on the house. While they usually self clean numerous times a season, this winter neither the house nor shop has dropped it's snow.. all stuck nicely to the screw heads! They're living in a hotel right now tb4me... insurance told them they'll be out for probably 5 months. Seems long, but by the time the drywall etc is finished, I wouldn't doubt it.

Based on the 4' wide window in the first picture the main rafters, under the big dormer, are on 16's !

They'll figure it out Brian... if you look in the gable even it's rafter tied.. so imagine the main roof was as well and what they heard as "animals" over the last week as each one started to let go. The big thing is we usually get a roof clearing / melt or two each winter and with the 50+ inches we got just over the new years week alone on top of daily plowing of snow for 3 months now. The snow on roofs here is damn near equal to the weight of water by now it's so compacted.

I made mention back around New Years that the Barrie Building department spokeswoman would be eating her words "that nobody needed to bother shovelling a roof if you house was built in the previous 30 years due to building regulations meeting the worst snow loads in the past 100 years"! The house in the pictures was built.... if memory is correct.. 19 years ago. The lady that owns it called a mutual girlfriend of Leah's on Tuesday afternoon asking her "what do animals sound like if they're in your attic". She asked because they had been hearing noises for about a week. Well in the middle of the night Tuesday / Wednesday AM it let go and luckily nobody was hurt. I just can't believe that none of the neighbours around them (in the same small subdivision with the same builder) haven't broke out the shovels on their roofs before they're in the same boat, especially with the sun out and temps going + today and tomorrow. I can't imagine the loads on Penetang area roofs right now.. even with my own buildings (all steel roofs) the only roof that has cleared itself is the hangar with a 5/12 pitch. My shops 3/12 has not cleared itself even once, nor the rear house roofs since winter started.. and the house has a 12/12 pitch in steel tile that still holding snow and a main 5/12 about 3 feet deep of heavy packed! Imagine I'm going to be replacing a lot of roof screws when it does let go! I've even taken the time to access the attic and check all my rafter ties... all looks tight and thank god I overbuilt it.

How fast is that bugger gonna fly... while being towed behind the sled when you get home...

Why we always had magnetic signs for the company trucks.. so we could let employees use them for other things... lol

Marvin was such a great dog Lew... so sorry for the loss of your bestest friend! Been there three times in my life Lew. Having to put our black lab "Rikki II" to sleep a few years back had me so down I'll never bring myself to have another dog, but partly due to the fact I backed over him with the truck while plowing before the inevitable had to happen. Hopefully in your situation you know that Marvin lived a GOOD long life with a great best friend in you... and you can move forward from here out.

... and then the serial number would be registered twice in Ontario Bill.. good luck with that one. Did you get the vessel registration paper from Transport Canada / Service Canada amongst the paperwork from the previous owner. If so... fill in your name.. accompany it with a receipt from your email transfer via your bank and fire it in to Service Canada. If you didn't get it... you have the original owners name.. 411 him and call him up, nothing to lose but a headache.

There were two smart ones amongst them anyhow.. the guys that let them go.. and yah, I did worse as a teen and even a preteen. We were probably 8 or 9 when we use to dare each other to touch open water on the Rideau.. on the current INTAKE side behind the Mariner Inn!

Thanks guys... not belated Buck... we actually used Family Day to it's fullest and had all our kids here at the house for a "pre birthday" party. Her actual birthday is next week.. and she' s having a "post birthday" party the following weekend with all her friends at a local establishment (even though she can't drink). Oncology check up on Tuesday coming at Mt Sinai, and then the next brain / skull MRI is on the 10th of March at Sunnybrook.
