  1. Now that IS epic!!!
  2. You can count on the Fergus boys to come up with a reasonable solution..... lol.
  3. Yes I know, and I'm sorry I used your post as an example, but every year around the spawn these things come up, and every year there are people who really think it would be a sensible idea, and they have no idea what they are proposing.
  4. You are now deputized. On your 6th check of the evening you come across someone who doesn't respect the role you are filling. It is nighttime, he is larger than you, has a fillet knife in his possesion, he is between you and your vehicle which is your only safety, and you have no use of force options. He becomes irate and combative. Discuss.
  5. There is darn near everything in the grand, but I have not caught crappie in Fergus. I suspect that you saw a guy who doesn't know much about seasons. There is always one or two guys who think trout opens when the river breaks free of ice!
  6. Pete, I'd go with the costco advice. I've had great luck, and there is no way I'd spend that kinda cake on a starting battery. Costco has an excellent starting/deep cycle unit for $120.
  7. I think ventilation is the key. The guy who put floor vents in, that was a great idea. We got soaked in the boat on Wednesday, and yesterday I yanked the cover off and opened all the hatches to make sure it dried. I'm thinking of redoing the boat I just bought in vinyl eventually. There is nothing wrong with the carpet now, so no rush but If I do it I'll definately install a couple of vents. Looking forward to seeing the final product!
  8. It ain't worth arguing it man! Keep on keeping on!
  9. Yea, I here ya, flowers and doobies ought to sort out the terrorists and nutbars well enough.
  10. Change that to pickerel and I'm on board with you! I fished for musky for a while, but found them not to match the hype. But fishing for pickerel in the kawarthas and the damn things can be a real nuisance.
  11. Water temps hit 40 plus in some areas, particularly on Michigan side. Water clarity is great. We boated some hogs. Eaters hard to come by. Launch out of Lasalle. You can easily run up and down river from there and the ramp is excellent. Michigan 1 day license is $10.
  12. I suppose 20 posts isn't that much. Half the reason I visit these sites is the classifieds. I buy most of my gear used. Wouldn't matter to me if the guy had 1 post or 100, if the deal was right.
  13. Fellas, If the tax system pains you that much, get a program. I use UFILE. I have 4 dependants, and have done my own taxes for years, including not only my T4 from work but filing taxes for a small business on the side. I have claimed all sorts of legit expenses, even moving expenses in the past. I've never had it come back on me for more than a few bucks. I make sure my receipts are in order, I don't claim anything remotely shady, and I save myself $400 a year at the accountant. I have recieved several letters over the years requesting additional documentation and receipts and emerged unscathed. I'm not particularily brilliant, and not a great mathametician. If i can figure it out, so can you! The tax software is very accurate. Even when I've had to verify things the old fashioned way, its all added up.
  14. Nice! Love those St. Clair duck boats!
  15. Great info, thanks. Looking at mid week, and hoping that you get the rain and warm temps to clear up the river.
  16. I'd have to disagree with that, I have fished lower buck for 20 years and it has musky of a similar size of most of the kawarthas. If your looking for truly big fish, the kawarthas aren't your target area.
  17. Now why did you have to go and do that lol. I agree, lower buck is a good musky lake.
  18. I love it lol! I work with some guys who live on facespace. I don't get it. I have an account, but I only log in every couple months. I think you do need a psychiatrist if you post every waking moment to social media.
  19. Thanks for the info guys, we are looking to stay close to Lasalle ramps or in Windsor proper so we can head over to Wyandotte if nessecary. I think Lasalle will be clear of ice but it's not official yet. Thanks! I will file away the Belle River spot for future reference. Garnet, 20 minutes is about as much of a drive as we want to do, I'd appreciate the name of the B&B when you get a chance!
  20. Looking for a clean and inexpensive motel in the area. A minimum of fleas and bedbugs would be nice lol. We're fishing so not looking for a palace, but we'd rather not stay in a roach motel either. Thanks
  21. LOL, FNA, I'm not quoting that one, but it was an epic iphone auto correct error.....LOL
  22. You can buy a standard guide and wrap it on with thread. Plenty of float rods don't have a tip guide, but instead use a standard guide wrapped in place. No doubt you can find a micro guide to suit, just make sure it's single foot.
  23. That is some garage!!
  24. On scugog all you really need is a MH rod and some larger spinnerbaits with beefy trailers and a few medium sized inline buck tail spinners. I've fished it a ton for all species, and while it certainly has musky, they aren't on the size level as some of the other kawarthas. I don't fish for musky a lot anymore, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over heading out to scugog with heavy bass tackle. I
