Stop with this logic and nonsense. The proper way to adress the Police is to flick his tie when he approaches, tell him you pay his salary, ask him if he'd like a donut, and make sure to video tape everything on your iphone. Don't you watch YouTube?

If you are finding weeds, you can try rigging right along the edge with a single leech on a lindy rig, bare hook or bead. 3 foot leader from the sinker. If the weeds are only halfway to the surface, they're very fishable, and you can troll a shallow running crank over top, or run a worm harness with a 1/4 ounce bell sinker as weight just over top of the bed. I regularly fish just south of this area, and this is how we relatively consitently catch fish after 9am, even in bright sunlight. I pick up a lot of pike on the harnesses as well. And by fish, I mean pickerel. As for bass, toss a senko at a weed bed or rock pile, repeat that often enough and you'll catch them. We catch them to 3 pounds off our dock on worms at all hours of the day. I've never found them to be a very sporty fish, but they are dumb and plentiful! Looks like a nice week!

For an old mower converted to a wagon hauler, this is what I'd do also. They sell switches that attach directly to your battery terminal, then to the battery cable at princess auto for $7. They are designed specifically as a battery cutoff to avoid draining down a battery by accident. Shipping from PA is cheap like borscht also!

And u guys gripe about costs down south

That was a thing of beauty!! -
I have a 16 foot boat, full floor, casting deck, livewell and lockers with a 50hp as well as 3 batteries. It weighs just a shade under 1500lbs with trailer. I had it weighed at the dump scales. I prefer to pull it with my truck, but often will tow and launch it with a 4 cylinder SUV if I'm travelling a fair distance and want to save gas. You'll be fine with a tinner!

I'd put a hundred bucks on this being the case.

People come, people go. That's the way the world works. I've never attributed post count to the caliber of the individual. You could have 10k inane posts, or 8 great ones. Good luck.

That's the one to buy. When the 870 express was still made well! I'm generally a wood all the way guy but for my deer/duck/goose/turkey beater pump I use a synthetic win 1300. I only take my old browning A5 out when the weather is decent.

I think Roy co-owns the site with a few others. Could be wrong.

Great fishing. I fish with my kids a LOT, and while I usually put a rod down for myself, somehow it always seems I am I missed in the rotation LOL, funny how that works. -
What difference does it make if an intro is given or not? If someoene is going to show up and bloodsucker for spots to fish, having to make an intro isn't going to stop them. It's a pointless endeavour. Just don't bother feeding them info, and they'll either stay and contribute, or they'll go away. Having a requirement to post an intro is one of the sillier things I've seen on forums.

Just about everyone gets an 870 to start. I'll be the lone dissenter, and not because the 870 is a bad gun, at least the ones of 15-20 years ago where good. Remington quality of late has been crap . If you can find an old 870 or an old Winchester 1300, you'd be better off than buying a new rem. If your pockets are a bit deeper, get a wingmaster. You'd probably have it for life. Otherwise take a look at the Brownings if yor budget allows. Good luck.

Well, I'm glad we didn't stay at the dock this morning. The pike where on fire, couple pickerel too. Rain held off, and back at the cottage with the clouds just rolling in now!

I don't think anyone has a problem with the use of traditional netting practices. The problem is that it's gone way past traditional. It needs to be stopped flat out. It's become abuse. The fishery is ripe to rebound. There are tons of small pickerel. My last trip there was stupid with the numbers of fish put in the boat. Something needs to be done. I doubt our current political situation will allow for it. It's a real shame, the lake is a factory if it is allowed to do its thing.

Xraps where the same for a few years when they first came out. Busted dozens of lips. Busted a pile of fish on them too!! Newer xraps don't seem to break nearly as much. Just what I need, another lure to buy.

Zoology board was around before OFC, that was Andy's old site. It ended when he retired from U of T. I found this place from that one. Have lurked ever since, really just started posting on here in the last 5 years, but read it since the beginning.

I had never heard of it, interesting idea. And lifeproof cases are closer to $100 than to $50. The only reason I have one still is because the 2nd and 3rd case where warranty replacement.

Decent tablet, $170, navionics $60, waterproof case, $100, ram mount if your so inclined $50-100 depending on what mounting options you already own. Me, I'd go with a second unit, or sell the unit I already have and go to a bigger screen . I have a 7 inch sonar/plotter and I find this just right for split screen. I'm sure a bigger screen would be even nicer but I haven't had a problem following a contour and using my sonar at the same time as of yet.
-
Whatever you get, be wary of lifeproof cases. While very slim and compact, I am on my 3rd case now. They were great with warranty replacement, but the cases don't last. I will try the otter waterproof case next, even though it is significantly bulkier than lifeproof.

Sonarphone T-Box: can you see the thermocline?

I agree. A decent greyscale unit can be had for under $100 these days. Spend $150 and you can have color. -
That may work for you, but lots of folks like to have rods pre rigged for different things. I carry a a rod with a line counter for bottom bouncers and trolling cranks, a jig rod, a rod rigged with a slip float, a rod with a walking sinker rig and a rod for casting crankbaits on every trip. Minimum 5 rods for what I might want to do. I don't feel like re rigging every time I want to do something different. I might end up with one more in the boat if I want to fish for bass or pike for an hour as well. If 2 poles works for you that's great, but it doesn't do the job for everyone.

I went from an iphone 3 to the latest galaxy at the time. I dumped it just as soon as the iphone 5 came out. As the guy above mentioned, if you like playing with the phone, android is for you. If you just want to download the apps you use, check email and calenders and browse the net etc. then iphone has it hands down . I am an iphone guy, because it is extremely user friendly within the limits I use it. I don't need a rocket ship, just a workhorse. The androids can do lots, but they are just not required for me. It will depend what kind of user you are.

I bought a bps pro light jacket last year, so far very impressed. I also have bps pro qualifier gore tex bibs that are 10 years old and still keep me dry.

Landfill usually does it for free. If you want a print out of actual weight, they charge a small fee.

Berkeley upright rod holders are the best option for small boats. Cheap to.
