  1. if he had a Thunder Cat 1000 on the trailer, it would have made more sense, small peanut
  2. sad news, sorry to hear that
  3. doesn't these inflatable PFDs defeat the purpose, if you fall and hit your head and are knocked out, you won't be able to pull the rip cord? as for PFDs help in recovering the body, I did find a body once, off shore, no life jacket, he was floating just fine, but face down
  4. I only wear it in two situations, running rapids, or when I'm a little cold and need extra insulation
  5. I'd say get the guide for the very 1st day, it will be an interesting, memorable day regardless, cool experience then, you'll have a good idea of what to do and then extrapolate what species does the guide do? muskies?
  6. early bird gets the worm Bud, sounds like a great weekend all around
  7. cool, one complaint, next report, give us more than 4 pics (smiley face)
  8. Nice Miro! Did you hike in or portage? How deep were the lakers?
  9. Everyone is ethically different. I wanted to get this off my chest. I've got 2 neighbors. One guy and his kids shoot red squirrels. "they're getting into my walls!" me-"Dude, lets take 45 minutes and close off your soffits, done!" soffits still open and squirrel season still open, he shot one while I was over, poor shot, very ugly scene another shoots pileated woodpeckers "they're killing my white birch" me- "I think that tree is toast" "yeah, I'm cutting it down" me- "so why is the gun still out?" I don't agree with either of these guys, but can't say much, the difference with the muskie clubber is that he is definitely breaking the law
  10. I'm guessing Lew would like to bonk that guy on the noodle
  11. Yes, this mentality still exists, they pass it on to their kids too the food web of an aquatic community is a complicated thing, less muskies doesn't necessarily mean more walleye Good job by those guys who went over and butted heads with that guy
  12. Sinker, so now you're saying they are on fire indefinitely, wow, no pictures, it didn't happen (smiley face!) any tips appreciated the good size may be reflective of the slot restrictions showing effect?
  13. good report guys, good to hear from you again Geoff, I always enjoy what you're saying
  14. that's the way Ontario works, instead of having people in the field researching or enforcing, we have fat cats in suits and ties regulating when I retire I'll try living somewhere else
  15. hit Jokeville at 8pm sharp! my favorite part of a heat wave
  16. no, not for me my wife caught her first muskie last weekend though, then she started singing this annoying song- "I caught a muskie, you lost a big muskie, you suck, you rot, I caught a muskie........" it went on forever
  17. I don't think Chris should be mentioned in the same sentence as Mike, Drew and Adam, but cool! Yep, you guys are officially hooked! The first one is the most magical, and the planning is half the fun. It is more work than a lodge but the feeling sitting around the campfire at the outpost, after dark, after a great day on the water, more than makes up for that. Maybe Bill Barilko just loved it so much, he disappeared and stayed there.
  18. Yeah, time flies Bunk, it looks like you guys don't sit still for very long, that's the way to do it, very cool!
  19. we would name spots on the French after the guy who caught a memorable fish there Buck's Chute Brown's Cove Hack's Nuts (2 big boulders), Hack caught a giant Redhorse Sucker there, thought he had a giant walleye Axe's Crack Sturgeon Point (hooked by Brown) Devil's Pulpit (can't really explain that one here)
  20. I've had trouble researching stuff in Quebec too, the language barrier, archaic websites or no websites at all, they're losing a lot of out of province clients, if they want them? Adam sent me a few Quebec links, it still left a lot to be desired, maybe he'll chime in anyways, there's plenty of fish pics, but it's the other pics too that make this another great report, I'm a fan!
  21. looks like you've got them figured out Vette, that would be a lot of fillets, nice!
  22. I like an unobstructed view of the fire myself, some trailer parks require chimenias or drums for outdoor fires one advantage I've seen guys do (I wouldn't do this myself), they save their used motor oil after an oil change, and pour some into the bottom lip of the drum while the fire is going, the slow burning oil keeps the fire going when burning big logs or crappy, wet wood
  23. I remember getting them to hit a small, floating rapala, slow retrieve, just under the surface, Turkey Point, I also remember the hook-up percentage was really low I've heard of guys using a piece of Velcro hanging off their trailing hook and the gars teeth would get entangled, don't know if that's true or not
  24. I think you're in the bush more than you're at home, crazy life you lead, very cool! looking forward to the article and report
