The Quebec outfitters are definitely loosing a lot of English speaking clients. I've tried to research Quebec outposts and it's frustrating. Great area, I've been to that park but I was paddling so I'm no help either.

cool Burtess, do a product review/ report when you hit the snow
-
thanks TJ, I was sitting silently for quite a while, when my walkie talkie radio made a weird squelch, feed back noise, it sounded like a lion's roar, it started soft then got louder, I nearly pooped my pants because I didn't know what was going on another interesting thing, I was sitting quietly in a hole, looking down at a clearing, I heard a branch snap from behind me, then I heard a person cough- for the life of me I couldn't figure out the best way to let that person know I was there without scaring the hell out of them, or me getting shot, Hahaha

Ralphie pictures are always appreciated

I don't think there's much between Muskoka and N Bay. Temagami doesn't open until May 2_4 if you went further. Muskoka or Haliburton are closer with lots of options.

Looks like you kicked butt, beauty fish What bait were you trolling?

stickle back, not the common 3 spine though I have a book, Freshwater Fishes of Canada, Scott and Crossman, as a fisherperson or outdoors person, it's a great reference if a used copy is online and cheap, it's facinating and great to have

get your licence Bunk, and ride your trusty Can-Am steed into Ponderosa for a few days thanks Solo, I was hoping to see a certain report up when I got back, you are either procrastinating, or spending too much time at the river
-

every country for itself, the world is on an unsustainable path, go immigrate yourself into Asia or India and let me know how you're enjoying things

So how many people can this planet sustain? What will everybody eat, each other?

On a frosty November morning, I sit silently. The sun isn't up yet, but it's finally bright enough to see. If I look to my right, I can catch the odd glimpse of Bruce's orange hat and vest between the hardwoods. I scan below, down to the hemlocks and the creek. The silence is deafening yet somehow therapeutic. The bush and myself don't make a sound. The eerie silence is broken with what sounds like a cannon going off. It echos through the valleys. The distance away, and the direction it came from, is hard to tell. Then dead silence again. My radio comes alive and a voice softly whispers. "did you guys shoot?" then whispered responses- "no", "nope", and I chime in with a quiet voice, "no" We are not alone in these ridges and valleys, and rifle season has begun. In a place called Galloway, at a camp called Ponderosa, the membership has dwindled. Being a sharp shooting, cold blooded citiot, with an appetite for straight whiskey and adventure, I was lucky to be invited along. Bruce, the camp owner, Randy, the crazy down' easter, Dr David Suzuki, and myself would search for deer and squatches in the hills around camp. David making the slow ride into camp. Home sweet home. Dr Suzuki was great to have in camp. His wealth of biological and ecological knowledge, is unsurpassed. After an unsuccessful first day, David sat us down at the table. He remained standing, and said- "The deers are now eating the pine nuts and spruce balls. What are you girls doing in the hemlocks? Holding hands? GET INTO THE TAMARACKS AND GET YOUR THUMBS OUT OF YOUR BUTTS!" Point taken. Randy tells David and Bruce about how to call a squatch. I love older camps and their history. There's similarities and differences between hunt camp and fish camp. similarities- rustic accommodation lots of time outdoors drinking and comradery differences- instead of rods and baits we have guns and ammo there's no catch and release at hunt camp for obvious reasons, drinking during mid-day is generally frowned upon at hunt camp stuff that can be found at an old hunt camp the only thing that was harvested this trip, was Randy's mouse David Suzuki, in his pajamas, smooth bore, rifled slug, paper plate at 50 yds group shot We saw 5 moose, I was the only guy to see deer, 3. I watched a doe for about a minute, I didn't like the shot, and didn't pull the trigger. No regrets. A great trip. Hopefully we all get to my cottage for some ice fishing in a couple months.

Next fall, do it yourself, post a refresher question here on what to do, and the guys will chime in, piece of cake!

I always love Halloween, as a kid, and even now, the stupidity of that article is frustrating the weather sucks again, but hopefully everybody has a fun night and stays safe

I don't know, there' s an E coli number and a Coliform number on the test results, so I assume it's not just total Coliform Our lot is in a sharp valley with lots of run- off from the hills above During the spring snow melt, the water actually flows out of the top of the well, it is 1' above grade We don't drink the water now, obviously, I did get mildly sick for close to a month and needed antibiotics, but who knows, virus, water? Terrible story G, I didn't know that, I can't imagine how rough that is
-
Drilled, 80' I'm embarrassed to say over $320 for the Berkey
-
Thanks guys, Like Art said, there is no known approved filtration for E Coli It's a scam, garbage product, I bit, hook, line, and sinker My last question is, do you think Scott will be OK with me shoving my Berkey up his back end?
-
The Berkey claims to eliminate E Coli, coliform etc, saving people from drinking Javex what`s web addy stuff
-
Long story short, we ended up with one, as a sort of gift, thinking `cool, we can drink our well water at the cottage` The town near our cottage has free water quality testing. I recently provided a sample of untreated well water and well water that has been run through the Berkey. The results come back. There`s no difference. Both are ridden with E Coli., same levels. Scott, the guy we got the Berkey from in Orrilllia, his Emails bounce back and his phone goes straight to voice mail with no reply. If you use a Berkey, beware. If you are thinking of buying one, don`t. If you know where Scott is, please tell

I'd say get a snowmobile, that's a big lake, there's a good deal in the classified section If you insist on walking, I'd say the cat and disposable tanks are the better option for your portable hut personally, I don't like having to strip down to my undies, just cut the chill and keep your line and hole from freezing

You should have just followed Aaron around the lower Niagara, he's super dialed in on that river welcome!

I see a hunched over old man or fetus I will give my opinion again when I'm feeling more "artistic", Hahaha Do you burn birch in the wood stove?
