  1. so now you're say'in "on fire!", Hahaha technique? PM if it's a secret or just don't respond if it's a super secret, I hear ya'
  2. no paddling required! no fishing either, just cruising down the Gull River, checking out the views wow, easy portage with rollers! may as well bring a full cooler, you can always bring'em back but you can't pull one out of your but if you run out if there was a huge pile of beaver pelts in the middle of the canoe, I would swear these guys are voyageurs when we passed some people on Moore Lake I asked "how far to Simcoe?" what's waiting for us at the end? a big, white Dodge, our ride home, it doesn't get any easier on a side note, here's what I like about the people north of the city, we're going evening shift walleye, the boats in the water, Cam says "fuddle, I forgot my rod!", a guy who is siting at his campfire beside the launch says "come over and pick one of mine and bring it back when you're done" we gave him a tall boy when we returned the rod, I like stuff like that
  3. you look too young to be riding that , I hope it works well though
  4. you've got the regs right, what part of the lake are you on or do you plan on running the whole lake?
  5. I had to work hard for 2, jigging in the weeds isn't my favorite technique either, 6-10 feet, white twister, 3", small piece of worm IMO, the pics are no longer on fire, there wasn't much on the surface, but my sonar was marking lots of streaks that looked like emerging insects, when in deeper water (not weed choked) Garnet- just to clarify, bucktail jig, hit bottom, 2 hard snaps and hold it up on the 2nd snap? in the weed or where you were marking emerging bugs? 30 walleye? nice job!
  6. I'm heading up in the morning, jump in my tinny, or back lakes, for the afternoon/ evening shift leaning towards walleye (on fire), but skis, stocked fish or lakers is fine too late notice, but I'll check in here before I hit the road edit- some other time for sure guys, let me know if your in the neighborhood
  7. that's why 20% of the shows were boring and dry
  8. I think it's cool to hear that some of us knuckle draggers respect lesser creatures like Gallie, I used frogs as a kid, then later when I could think for myself, didn't feel right doing that I harvest fish and game, but I'll still try to help an injured chickadee, or take a turtle off the road and throw it in the bed of my truck and drive it to the lake
  9. I'm not a soccer fan, I just tried to watch Greece/ Jap, the diving, drama and theatrics, what a joke, is this a sport or a fashion show?
  10. my wife is the best, she loves to fish but is having moral issues with the whole thing, she's not a vegan or vegetarian or anything, we don't even talk about hunting stuff if you spend some time with small brained animals, it's amazing how smart and social they are is catch and release fishing just torturing/ harassing wildlife? good question Shloim, should be some interesting responses I would say catching and releasing a fish causes more stress than pain
  11. Hi Muskywalleyebass, It's nice to see a new guy come on here and help people out, instead of asking for fishing spots good replies, thanks!
  12. Is your buddy Craig? ATVs not banned yet. They are still trying to figure out what kind of park it will be and what uses will be allowed. Warden said there's no Prov. Parks that allow ATVs so the writing is on the wall.
  13. I'm with Sinker, the fire has died down, it was a great early season though, I'm looking forward to October already time to get fired up about bass opener
  14. awesome new addition to the family, congrats I've heard an old timer say that the brookie bite is best at the height of black fly season I can't make out what attacked your bike, ruffed grouse? edit- oh yeah, your back yard looks a lot better than mine
  15. that was hilarious Mark, I haven't watched that show MB but would like to hear the story No, there isn't a gold rush in Minden yet, Eldorado Creek didn't give up her gold that day I called the warden about the tagged boats. Unless you have a hunt camp that justifies having a cached boat to access your camp, all the boats have to come out. It also looks like ATVs will be banned from the park. I liked it better when it was just crown land and not a Prov Park. There's still no services, but a lot more rules.
  16. your fly-in fishing season is off to a great start, that looks like a blast
  17. while I'm posting, I'll include a few other pics for fun Team Polaris gets set to head out into the bush for a half day of adventure we ride Polaris because we are too cheap, or can't afford Yami's here's the Poor Man 500 we all want to be able to afford new Kodiaks, so we stop at a creek, set up the sluice box, and start moving pay dirt "Hey, this is my claim, go find your own!" Karston working the shovel, when he would start slow down, I would just threaten to throw him in with the snapping turtle and he would speed up again Anyways, with pockets full of nuggets, we go for a ride. We do some bass fishing in the Queen Elizabeth ll Wildlands PP. We have seen the Parks truck driving around a fair bit lately. When we get to a lake, we notice all the boats have been tagged and likely have to be removed after deer season. The notice says you can get a permit for a cached boat. I'm not sure that's the case. I think they just want you to call. Some of our circle of friends are thinking this is the beginning of the end of our little sanctuary for outdoor activities. I think it may help us. Less people/ boats = better fishing, and I know we are motivated enough to still fish these lakes one way or another. I just thought this was interesting and thought some other guys would find it interesting too. I'm not whining or bashing the MNR or Parks people.
  18. yeah, it's all my fault when these snakes go to jail, then I will vote
  19. I got my ballot, and handed it back to the lady, "I decline to vote" she had to look through her handbook to figure out what to do, she said that was the first time she had ever seen that (Jokeville, ON)
  20. nice looking rig your buddy has, the first picture of heading out at first light brings back memories, looks like a fun day, nice fish, thanks
  21. Gull and Moore are rocky, deep, lake trout lakes, Gull max depth is 165', Moore around 100' bass and walleye, like Fisnsled said, Head/ Grass/ Kash/ Canning chain, free launch on Head and Kash - Beech and Maple lakes in Stanhope, free launch on both -Burnt River, free launch in Kinmount and go north (upstream) the above lakes , no slot, 1 over 18" - Head Lake (different Head Lk) on 45, west of Norland (keep them in the slot, unlike Balsam), free launch -Shadow, keepers are in the slot too, launch on Public Launch Road -check out Crystal Lk too
  22. I did enjoy that report, thanks, great last picture- fire/ sunset
  23. there's a free public launch off the road to Elliot Falls, then you have to boat up the Gull River to Moore Lake. The channel into East Moores is no problem, deep water, wide channel
  24. I fish that lake once in a while, there's no road access so no boat launch
  25. it's also about playing by the rules Porkpie, whether we agree with them or not I know a few bass guys who would be gritting their teeth when hearing you refer to them as those "damn things", just sayin'
