  1. the lower Niagara would fit your criteria, check the regs for the laker season though, a heavy spoon like a Cleo would work
  2. you really like those things eh Bunk, "no pickerel no cry", when you've got big, fat gar awesome!
  3. not really a pike lake IMO, this time of year, look deeper (15' to 30') using your sonar to find the eyes then jig them off the bottom, try the shallows in low light basically a typical Chapleau area lake
  4. I bet Bernie could fix it when it breaks Looks like it's more cut through the snow rather than float on the snow I think this is the first snowmachine I've seen that my Bravo could beat in a race, maybe, maybe not
  5. A few years ago, Bob Lake, Haliburton, at dusk, had a great grey owl make a play for my skitter pop, I yanked it away when I saw what was happening, the lure came sailing dangerously back at us in the boat, very cool bird
  6. that's good, get them started early I think BPS has mossy oak baby clothes instead of that pink, frilly stuff good balance of family/ outdoors stuff Chad
  7. to change the direction here- I'm still trying to get the video, my wife has seen it and said it's pretty funny and well done with a steady hand I'm guessing I would have handled it differently. I got side swiped in downtown TO a few years ago, then went on a 3 or 4 minute car chase until I boxed the kid in. Rich kid in his Dad's BMW. It was fun driving like I stole it. for now, I'm gone Squatchin'
  8. I'm with Musky or Specks on this one T-Bone I know the Bisco area pretty good but I wasn't willing to offer up stuff I had to figure out for myself. If Musky/ Specks asked, I'd help him because I know he would help me A "nice fish" comment just says- "Hey, I checked out you post and was inspired enough to reply" A community is give and take. Nothing against you Floater, I like your style, 9 days in a camper around Bisco is pretty cool
  9. I'm going to try to post the video here
  10. Bisco is good. There's a little town where the launch is so I'm not sure where you would park the camper. Not all lakes have good launches up there. You can't just pick any road and find a launch. What other lakes are you looking at? If you've got 9 days, an 8 hour or longer drive makes sense IMO
  11. 2 days ago, my brother in law hears a voice outside his window (6:30 am), then he hears his ATV fire up. He grabs his car keys, runs outside, and chases the kid for a couple miles, he's got video shot through his front window, running stop signs etc The kid turns into a field on the reserve, pumps the middle finger up and down a few times, then rides away Scotland Ontario, near 6 Nations 2012 Kodiak 450, EPS, camo it's insured but still $1000 deductible, and 85% of value, reserve and regular cops don't really care the moral of the story, don't leave your keys in your bike down here
  12. a very unique fish trip report, but one of my favorites
  13. when the zombies come to take over, if you've got enough ammo, I think you guys will be pretty self sufficient there that's a little piece of paradise you have there, you're lucky, the GTA sucks do those wood piles dry well like that? that picture is looking west?
  14. I know a lot of guys are more technical and pay more attention to the details than I do We were walleye fishing this past Thursday and Saturday. Thursday, for the evening shift, the bite turned on from 8:30 until 9:15. It was like somebody threw a switch. Nothing, then all boats on fire, then nothing until well into the night. So we think we have it all figured out, and we will be on the water and ready for 8:30 Saturday. We hit the water, lines in the water at 7, the bites already on! Then, the switch is flicked off, and the bite is over by 7:20! oops, With such obvious on and off activity, I tried to use my GPS activity feature, my fish watch, OOD fish and game chart, online activity stuff etc. to try to make a correlation. Nothing I don't have a barometer anybody got any insight? I know some guys keep detailed logs
  15. same gas station? pretty common in small town Ontario
  16. here's a less typical laker spoon, for lakes with ciscoes (herring) Mepps Cyclops in pink glo if I could only have 1 spoon for all laker fishing, that would be it
  17. you're going to see a lot of smooth rock, unproductive water, look for unique spots with weeds, or boulders if you're camped near a fishy spot or a spot with current, after dark would be the best chance for the elusive pickerel, I would twitch a husky jerk from dusk into the night from the campsite, channel cats are around too if you're interested post a report, it's a great area up there
  18. reliability wise, I don't know, google CVT problems 2 rentals I've had did have CVT and they drove great, driving them you can tell they would help with gas mileage with seamless upshifting when you are not on the gas
  19. I didn't know that was an option. How do you check for Lyme?
  20. looks like the who's who of the OFC up there great pics as usual, not enough Ralphie shots though, to remind me of my old Boston (I know Ralphie isn't a Boston, but they look similar)
  21. pretty slow on here, I was away for a few days, I came back and the same stuff is still up, here's something, not very spectacular though I have been sucking up to Cam, baking him butter tarts, and giving him jars of pickled leeks, because he is the guy with the plane. How would you like to hear- "where do you want to fish today?" then pull out a map, without consideration of access or distance, that's pretty cool it's the ultimate back lake fishing weapon my wife and me spent the better part of a day trying to get in here last summer, paddling and portaging, and didn't even quite make it http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71169&hl=secret with wings, it's just over the trees, probably less than 10 minutes from when the little 172 fires up, until the floats touch the water again, very cool Cam is friends with most of the province, including this camp owner, who has had a bear come in a window, leave through a door, then come in another window, rip open everything, then leave through a wall, then come in through the repaired door and leave through a repaired window etc., so a 12 gauge made the trip with us we didn't see the bear, I did promptly step on a nail on the "bed of nails" the owner left to protect his camp We grabbed a canoe from camp, paddled down the lake, tied it off, thenbushwacked to the secret lake, to some cached canoes I had found via snowmobiling, in the winter. The snow was super deep, and I didn't think the canoes were locked up but wasn't sure under the 3' of snow. Luckily the weren't locked. Away we go. The secret lake turned out to be smallmouth only (no largies, weird), fast action, no biggies though a hot, calm day, good for paddling, probably not so good for the bite summer has been great, lots of fishing, mishaps- stepped on that nail, my legs are currently covered in poison ivy, and had a tick took the tick to Minden hospital, it was a wood tick, no trouble, another kudos to the Canadian health care system, here's the pic, sac it's not a Moosebunk or Solopaddler report, but it's something,
  22. gotta love the full moon Kawartha pics! nice!
  23. Bernie's a good guy to have around here for sure let's see a picture of this beast Joey
  24. you just need an old cedar strip boat with a Viking outboard being towed behind the Chevy that's a great area, nice report Dan
  25. Mitchell CAP, open faced spinning reel, France, excellent condition, value $26 (2001) if it was a Mitchell Hugh Big Game 7", it would be $1045 I inherited a big bunch of old reels, I was disappointed to find out what they are worth, I'm going to keep them anyways
