  1. I have "Lawson's Price Guide To Old Fishing Reels" in my hand, do you want to know what it says, or keep it a mystery?
  2. another magical trip, you should compile all your trips and stuff into a book beauty lakers and scenery!
  3. these have been mentioned, but I think they are critical baby wipes (outhouse), alcohol based hand wash, a water filter pump so you don't need to bring in bottled water, Tang and Gatorade crystals to add flavour 2-way radios (walkie talkies), LED headlights, long needle nose and spreaders, earplugs (snoring sucks!), bow saw
  4. yeah, I ride a bike, a Yami 125 scooter I've ridden a bike all my life, I feel I've spun the wheel of death enough times but I still want to ride, so now it's a scooter (go ahead with the jokes, I've heard them all before, hahaha) at least the newer street racing laws give the enforcement people more teeth if they do catch guys doing this stuff there's bad drivers in SUVs, and cars, and on bikes
  5. the road is obvious, the sign on hwy 35 says something like "Gov't Dock Rd" or "Public launch Rd"
  6. a few times during the week, I said to whoever I was in the boat with "damn!, I should have called Solo (that's what they know you as) to go over the map!" good eye, beach drop off and pick up, but it's not a big deal when there's already boats there, unlike your trip
  7. I left my packing until after dark, the day before we left, not a good idea, panic power packing! Blueberry Road at 6am "Audio, audio, check, 1,2, do you copy?" I can't complain about the weather, no rain during daylight hours, it did go from warm then cool, fall like weather mid week then it got hot at the end of the week cannibalistic pike the black flies, skeeters and horse flies were bad, the screened in porch at camp was awesome if it was pickerel dinner, the first guys awake in the morning would go out and grab the fish, get them cleaned and in the fridge, then just beer drink and enjoy fishing the rest of the day with the dirty work already done it's a rocky lake, these prop guards are necessary Teagan, the newest member demonstrates the Leuenberger pickerel hold my contribution to Eddie's camp, well, Eddie's outhouse actually huuuge water to explore a long battle with a pike on a walleye rig shore lunch my Dad got the big pike of the trip, 18 lbs, here's the release it's an awesome lake, we all said we would like to do it again, with Beteau, Windsor, and now Blackbirch, Eddie's options are hard to beat
  8. beauty write up and pictures Chad, I want to get there some day
  9. looks like you had a blast, sweet report! we were there too, we stayed in the run-down cabin behind yours we caught lots but you guys did better
  10. I've been away and off-line for a while, there's some awesome trip reports on here, this is one is a gem Luc, epic trip!
  11. I'm game, I'm just not sure who owns the boats that I use
  12. the see through bags are easier to find stuff in but wear out quicker, I like the seal line bags
  13. looks like another lake for the bucket list, avoiding the long car ride is a bonus for sure, awesome report as usual looking forward Bill and Mikes excellent adventure report coming later
  14. sounds like an epic trip, I'm sure the report will be worth the wait
  15. catchin' the big ones as usual Bunk, nice! sad to hear about the family loss
  16. I hope the guy is ok, and makes a quick, full recovery I've had a 2 wheeled, licenced vehicle for the last 20 years, and I don't see the point of the OPP riding bikes, they are dangerous and those Harleys have no advantages compared to a standard cop car, if he was in a crown vic, it would be a crack in the windshield, that's it I guess what I am saying, is the toys (motorbikes) should come on their own time and on their own dime regardless, I hope he is fine
  17. I can vouch for the lake, it's a gem! $700 is a sweet deal for a fly-in anywhere
  18. nice report! thanks I'm assuming you guys have been to Beteau. How you rate Windsor versus Beteau?
  19. who's got the bigger power pole, ChrisK or Garnet?
  20. more room and more stable than a canoe for sure, a grand is more than I expected for a used one I think it's more the "wow" factor when you pull out a boat from a duffle bag
  21. at 80 lbs I don't see the point a flat back sportspal (light, aluminum canoe) is another option
  22. IMO, early morning and late evening the trolling harnesses and casting suspending twitch baits will work, mid day or when they are not as active you will have to slow right down or fish near bottom in the heavy weeds
  23. that's a quality reel, that will make things a lot easier, cheap bait casters can be a nightmare mono may be better to start with, even a small nest with braid can be nasty and require cutting the line to clean it up I showed my wife how to use my Curado a couple years ago, she picked it up right away, 10 minutes and she was making long casts yeah, let us know how it goes
  24. thanks for the help guys, you never know, I may take you up on your offer Vance
  25. Any experience with these parks? Samuel de Champlain, Driftwood or Fitzroy? I know all PPs are somehow pretty similar, but I would like to hear some reviews, I'm guessing Driftwood would be the most interesting fishing wise, I'm bringing a boat I'll probably be up that way in a week or so any private campgrounds recommended? thanks
