  1. No different than the nitwit that tried to clear the auger chute, didn't learn the first time, tried it again and lost the second time too.
  2. Should be able to save it as a waypoint and then insert a "fish" symbol at that spot.
  3. Have to agree about GPS in the boat for sure, saved me a couple times out on G Bay, one minute it's sunny, the next your in a fog bank you can't see 20 feet. About 15 years ago, out salmon fishing very early, still dark. As the sun rose, the fog rolled in and then it was GPS navigating only, other than checking the depth on the F/F. Remembered to "believe" what the GPS is showing you, took me directly back to the dock that I couldn't see until the last 20 feet. A few others out there were hooting and hollering, rather funny but not. One guy ended up around on the claybanks about 3 miles from camp.
  4. Well the man in red is okay, the Fire Dept just came by with their fleet towing Santa and the reindeer, lots of people out cheering them on.
  5. Merry Christmas to all and the best of health.
  6. Apparently this was a gag posted by someone on another board and has been rescinded. Probably find out more tomorrow.
  7. Yup, there's always the minimum charge even if you don't use any.
  8. No he hopped into another smaller boat, makes the fish look bigger, lol.
  9. OMG I just about croaked when I saw the price of them now, just looked at the packing and shipping bill, $100.57 US about 15 years ago.
  10. Well, some people do however, without the pressure gauge, you don't know the actual psi in there. A 5L pot is about 5.2 US qt. that pot is pretty small, mines a 17 qt and there's a bigger one yet. I use mine to cook turkeys before canning, you'd barely get 2 wings into that one, lol. I would guess you might get 4-5 small or 4 medium jars in there. You're not supposed to fill them more than 2/3 full.
  11. Ah heck, that'll buff right out. 🤣
  12. Must be hard to pick out the cranberries and pumpkin seeds.
  13. That what I say about brussel sprouts, cabbage rolls and any peppers.
  14. I remember my brother used to buy them at the kensington market eons ago, a sunday treat on pumpernickle. I may have to go make that trip. Best are the fingerling smoked eels in n/w europe.
  15. And I'll almost bet there are those who choose not to understand written english will go home with buckets of fish.
  16. Yes, I can remember cranking the old hand auger until the folding point was even with the ice, even as young as I was then it was a long crank.
  17. Yes, it's an unfortunate situation society has gotten into, my mom was a house mom, cook, clean and take care of the kids, my wife did the same, we managed on one salary, it's too bad that both have to "punch the clock" nowadays to make ends meet.
  18. What is annoying to me when you look through the flyers and see the amount of pre cooked and prepared food, is it just me or is society getting extremely lazy or doesn't know how to cook food anymore. I can't ever remember eating Swanson TV dinners or any of that crap, dad would have taken the wooden spoon to mom, lol. I've had women stop me in the store and ask how to cook an item or "what are you going to do with that".
  19. I can remember many years ago a bud and myself went out on cooks bay on 12 Dec, 6 inches of sold ice and loaded up on perch. One of those rare years.
  20. Coldest I see is -10C tuesday/wednesday.
  21. Well that looks like some pretty nice work. No idle hands at your desk.
  22. A number of years back they had 2 trucks equipped with similar ones, turned out to be a massive money pit and then sold off on auction to Manitoba Hydro.
