Okay, in addition, went out this morning with my ohm meter, I get a 2.1 to 2.2 ohm reading. If you get a zero, you have a dead short, if you get much higher than what I get, it's wired in series. My trailer brakes are wired as follows, the wire from the trailer plug(bottom left contact) goes to one wire(doesn't matter which side of the trailer or which of the two wires), connected there and then goes across to the other side of the trailer and connected to one wire. The other wire from the plug ground(bottom left contact) goes to the other remaining wire one the first brake and continues across to the other side remaining wire. That's it. I'm highly suspecting the wires inside the axle may be highly corroded and or the insulation is brittle, fallen off and may well be causing the ground shorting problem for the brakes. You say the fuse for the brake controller is shorting out now, with the trailer connected or not? Without the trailer connected, then there's something wrong with the wiring inside the van. Usually, (not always) the brake controller wiring runs black is positive, white is ground, blue is the trailer hot brake wire and the other colour is the wire that gets power on the "dead" side of the van brake switch when you step on the brake. Let us know how it goes.

2 completely unrelated questions

If I'm not mistaken the deepest part is off the end of Avery Point towards the N/E, the rest is sort of a basin from 10-14 feet deep. -
Some of the brake controllers are motion activated, some of the others are activated on a time basis, the longer you hold the brake pedal down, the more power is provided and the harder the brakes engage. I have to ask the inevitable, did you wire the brakes in series(one long loop) or in parallel? If you did series, it won't work, must be parallel. Did you run the ground wire from the brakes to the frame or to the trailer plug? If you know how to use an ohm meter, check and see what the reading is on the electric brakes alone, not connected to anything. I'll check mine to see what the reading is, tomorrow, too dark right now.

Definitely a great trip, like those sunset pictures.

Then again, most quebecers don't speak real french either, bunch of jibberish of made up words with an accent added. First time I went to get a tune up for the car and asked for a courroi , he looked at me kinda strange(fan belt) they call it a strap. Next, ajuster les soupapes, valve adjustment, after that, the mechanic just said point to what you want done.

How to put Long/Lat Coordinates into google maps?
Fisherman replied to Broker's topic in General Discussion
Needless to say you could probably post all the co-ords in red here, I don't think anyone is going to go and swipe your secret spots. Not after they show you how they fish farm over there. -

How to put Long/Lat Coordinates into google maps Type the title of your quest into google, instructions are there. -
What I don't get is that municipalities allow people to build homes that close to the water. You build a house by the water sooner or later you're going to get wet. You step in a cow pattie your foots going to stink, you eat jalapinos, your butts going to burn, etc. I say too bad so sad.

What kind of boat, aluminum or fibreglass. If it's fibreglass you may have a chance that it's layered and not be 100% solid. Any amount of porosity degrades the transducer signal. If it's aluminum, you have a better chance of getting the signal through and back. Don't forget, there are specific transducers designed for use through the hull. If you are bound and determined, I would use epoxy. The only problem is getting the right angle. Everything changes when the boats in the water, how many people and kit, trolling speed/high speed, it changes the "angle of dangle" of the transducer. Personally I wouldn't, it's much easier to mount it on the rear and you have easy access to change the side/side and front/rear angles as needed.

Any Mercury identification experts in the house?
Fisherman replied to Weeds's topic in General Discussion
Not a fan but to each their own. Anyway, you may also find the serial number embossed on the motor block somewhere under the cowl. Unless you tilt the motor up, looks like the skeg is pretty close to the road. On second look, I would rather have a high transom model, any substantial waves following you might just wash in on the back. -

Wonder what ever happened to the interchange they were supposed to make around the old McDonalds they tore down, that was supposed to allow access to the back of "Park Place". -

Yes, there's a bunch of numpties for sure that designed the Moson Pk/400 interchange. They should have put the off/on ramp behind Costco to come out at the next lights east, there's far too many unsynchrinized lights there. Same with that cluster at the bottom of Essa, should have the off ramp run into Little and then close the rest of it, one less light to cause delays. I'm waiting for the the 400/Duckworth replacement, that'll be something to see. -

Nice boat, if you get it, put the larger 12" tires on the trailer, props almost on the ground, then tie a 50' piece of rope to the motor, there's your anchor. -

Craig, if you made this up there's not enough prepH to shrink things, you'll be like a baby in jail waiting for Bubba. Just joking, best news we can get up here. -

Seems like it's becoming more common every day. And they wonder when they get laid off because sales are diminishing.
