  5. I had one of the rattle traps that had a tail spin and the line passed thru the body of the lure and tied directly to the treble hook. I wish I could find them again they were killer and the lure would slide up the line and keep the fish from throwing the hook. Art
  6. What a good cause good on you Maureen Art
  7. I have the wireless unit and the delay on signal and the over rotation is a pain in the butt. I have installed a special tiller handle on the bowmount motor and only use the foot pedal or belt clip units to turn on and off and speed adjustment. To do all over a factory tiller bowmount is my next motor. You can knee or kick it around as you fish. Art
  8. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/WestAdvisorView?langId=-1&storeId=11151&page=Battery-Charging#.UaU8akCTiSo Here is the charging profiles in graph form to help you understand what the difference is between the charging rates. The link is for the rest of the info. Thank you Westmarine. Art
  9. I would P.M. T.J. he has lots of reviews on lodges and has been to quite a few of the Northern Lodges. Art
  10. Well done nothing like getting work done and getting interrupted to catch a big fish. Art
  11. Please note that I am in a place where it is legal to fish for bass all year around. I have fished in the time of the spawn and returned the fish back to the water in a timely manner. This is what I have observed. The bass will return to the nest area and continue to guard it. I have seen very little predatory reactions from the surrounding fish. I know there are many that say this condemns the nest and we have wiped out a whole brood of bass. I think the impact is minimum on the bass as far as the breeding and year of the young. Now the important point is if it is illegal for them to be fished then that is what I would be angry about. As far as devastating the lakes population I think that it is not likely. Art
  12. back to topic of Bass Pro please it is heading down the locked road otherwise. Art
  13. nite nite to this we all got a chance to say our peace and it will only get ugly from here. Art
  14. Funny in 38 years you are the first person I have hear Spiel refuse a build too. Just saying.... BTW I own 5 of his masterpieces and am not only proud of them but have been offered more than twice what I paid. Value grows on quality products. Art
  15. Unclamp it and place it on the floor of the boat. If not then vertical puts the stress in line with the transom which will prevent any damage. If you leave it in the horizontal then it is has the leverage and the weight to torque the transom. A strong transom though should not have an issue with a horizontal electrical trolling motor. Art
  16. Go to any plumbing supply and get the sheet goods for building a shower pan. It is a plastic that can be glued together as needed and is flexible enough to fold the corners. Art
  17. The 1600 CC volkswagen was rated between 40 and 50 H.P. stock and runs without a load around 210 F and starts to destruct at 235 F. Air cooled as they are I would see this thing sending a lot of them to the garage with a blown motors and drivetrain issues. However it is cool to see that someone has do this. Art
  18. Good to see T.J. does this mean Monique can catch more fish in more spots further from the camp than you now still? Art
  19. I once found a drowned cow on the river tangled in the brush. I fished downstream from them and we caught a whole herd of catfish. Art
  20. Smacker hand impact like Drifter pictured and Bernie has confirmed is what I have always used with success. Art
  21. They smell a lot like a carp. Art
  22. I would start with the easiest test first. Remove battery from boat fully charged. Go to local auto place and have it load tested. There is no point looking for a down line problem when the foundation is the battery and it is not proven to be solid. Art
  23. I am using the lowrance DI and it shows a whole world that the regular transducer misses. The 800 khz is not read as an average of the size of the cone in depth. It is read as a line or 2 D beam and has the instant update of a flasher with the ease of reading information of a graph. Kind of hard to explain with out getting long winded but I use a flasher for high speed reading, my graph for running in lower speeds than 30 mph and my 800 for trolling speeds and less. They all have a good use but it is up to the operator to learn what it is telling you. Art
  24. I still hold with replacing the switch. Filing the points can cause a hotspot if done incorrectly and cause the contacts to arc and weld themselves in the on position. Art
  25. Well done a nice boat score for sure. Art
