Very nice rig Terry I am glad it also all came in. I am sure when the 9.9 gets in you will be made whole. I was once asked by a buddy as we drove to the boat what my truck got for mileage and I replied "16 combined" he said "ouch" I said "meeh that not so bad the boat we are taking out get 1 1/2 MPG." I think a diet that is balanced and scientifically proven is better than any concocted diets we can think up. It is like what diet of the week will the people use to lose weight. We hear about the veggie only diet or the meat only diet both are exact opposite of each other but both are touted as being the greatest way to lose weight. My vet has always guided me with feeding a balanced dog food with dog treats that are also formulated for their health. He did not specify the brand nor did he say I had to buy the food from him. My dogs do get a few snacks from the counter for taste not nutrition. Art

Good job the holes you drilled are the key to keeping cracks from spreading and a good shot with 40 grit sandpaper to get the surface rough is also required for a lasting job. Art

We have chain pickerel in Virginia in selected water basins. It is about the furthest South I have heard of them being without special help from man or spring fed. Art

Down here it is not the flies or skeeters we have to contend with it is the Gnats that swarm over your head and bite. The bite doesn't do anything after the pinch/pain at the time of the bite but you can get literally 10 per min. at the wrong time. Art

What to use for water line stains on boat / motor?
aplumma replied to scugpg's topic in General Discussion
The deposits are mineral based so you need a weak acid to get rid of them. Look in the bathcleaner section for lime removal products. Remember to wipe and rinse frequently and test before you go wild. I use CLR to restore my 150 evinrude and then an epoxy based motor paint to get rid of the cavitation burns. Art -
If you are able to put $1500 aside for repairs and you don't have one in 4 years you get to spend the $1500 on whatever you want. If you buy the warranty and you don't have an issue you are out $1500. Art

The local car stereo installer shop might have what you need. Unfortunately I have what you need but the drive back and forth will cost to much. lol

It is not so much that it is over insured it is making sure you have the correct insurance and enough insurance to cover the situation when you make a claim. In most cases homeowner insurance does not cover tackle stored in the boat or if the boat is stored off site such as a marina. They also do not cover any items removed from a commercial use vehicle. The best way to know if what you have is correct is sit down with the agent till you have answers to all of your questions because knowing "before" a claim is the best way to purchase the correct type/amount of insurance. You have a hot wire touching a circuit that is in a loop ground configuration. Unplug the wires after marking them from one switch at a time and isolate the terminals with tape. Use an amp meter between the positive terminal inline with the power feedline and when you disconnect the fault the amp draw will drop to zero. Isolate the circuit and test for a grounded wire. Any false grounds need to be repaired and then the circuit retested after being hooked up again for amp draw. Switches are the place to start so ohm them out before going after the wire harness. Art

The paint will cause the barb on the hook to be ineffective. You can try using a red sharpie it is thin enough it would not affect the hook do it's job. Personally I would add a slash of red to the lure before I would tint the hooks. Art

Dave I have used lots of lures over the years and some are left forgotten in the stack of boxes never to fulfill the promises they lured me in with. I have assembled a bag that is my grab and go bag and it has lures that are time proven for different styles of fishing. The bass bag has an assortment of lures from topwater to dragging worms that will produce all year long at a local private lake. The topwater lures are the green frog and the mouse from live target. The crawfish lure is very productive used in a jigging manner and it has a vertical fall that drives the fish nuts. I recently added a new lure made by mega bass that is a topwater that has an action that is awesome. It is expensive though but check Ebay some of the sellers seem to get them at a reduced price. My spinnerbait selection is mainly white and chrome since it seems to be the prefered color. I round out the mid level of the water column with the white bandit 4-6ft model. The bottom is shakey rigs with senco's and 10 inch worms. While there are many different lures to fall in love with you will find the few ones that are must haves and the live target is one of them in my book. Art
