  3. Cheap sunglasses are bad for your eyes. If you are looking for quality then you pay for quality. If you haven't ever owned a pair of glasses that are optically correct and protect your eyes then you will not know what you are missing. My last lenses were prescription with photo grading and polarized were not cheap however they make a day in the sun a breeze without eye strain and protects my eyes from damage. Art
  4. I pretty sure you can but I would start getting it buttoned up winter starts again in 3 weeks up there in your neck of the woods. Art
  5. They usually spawn out after they disappear from the deep water points. If you are catching them in 6ft or less of water and the area in shallows are showing circle (spawning beds) then the spawn has started. The good news is if you take a few for the pan you will not hurt the crappie population just hold off the fish fry till after if you can. lol Art
  6. Bass Pro sends you a get well soon card because you haven't been in for two weeks. Art
  7. I am sure Rob is keeping the concerns of all of his members in his decisions. Hope you get it solved Rob. Art
  8. Save the money up and get a Spiel creation the way they are built and the materials he uses make a big difference..They are responsible for me being able to feel a lot of the fish I used to miss because of poor building quality of mass produced rods. Yes some of the mass produced rods are good and it isn't till you are worming and have had both will you truly appreciate the handmade rods. Art
  9. With a good introduction and a little history you might get someone comfortable enough to invite you to go fishing with them. Then an offer of gas and a good sandwich will get you invited back. Welcome to the board remember the more you give here the more you receive. Art
  10. Might I suggest a 2" pvc tube for the roof rack with bungiee cords. Use a piece of 1" thermocell on the rod before inserting and you are bullet proof on damage. Remove the reel and store inside the car. Price is extremely cheap. Art
  11. Tungsten has it uses but it is in a very few instances it works better. I use it for fishing grass matts it catches less weeds. I don't feel it is worth the extra cost to be eco friendly. I use them mostly on a shaky jig set up so the clacking is not prevalent since it is in weedy conditions. Art
  12. I use a small treble hook with one of the hooks cut off at the shank. Sharpen the heck out of the hooks they have to be lazer sharp. Cut a strip of belly white from a fish. leave 1 inch of meat on it and 3-5 inches of just the skin so it flutters. Put a little weight 12 inches in front of the hook so you can cast past the fish and reel it back across there noses. when they strike it is quick and you got to stick them with the hook. The mouth very hard and bony but can be stuck. The use of yarn and cotton rope can be used tied to a jighead without a hook. If you do use the rope be very careful to remove all of the bits from the fishes mouth or it will starve. Good luck Art
  13. O.K. you send me the signed poem and I will name my first born after you. P.S. I am 51 years old ( not sure what that is in Metric) lol Art
  14. Look at the ones that use U.V. as the flash they are not seen by the eye and yield excellent night photos. Also inquire if it has any type of status lights the ones without are better since they do not show up in the woods. Art
  15. looks like a really nice reel thanks for calling our attention to it and don't forget to tell us how it is when you get it. Art
  16. I am sorry to hear about your mom it is so tough when they are in pain. I will offer up a few prayers for her I am sure the Big Guy already is doing his best for her. As for the poem......well........ummmmm......don't quit your day job. Lol Art
  17. No issues the saltwater reels are normally built with more corrosion resistant parts and better seals. The down side is they are usually slightly more expensive. I am using a few of the okuma saltwater series in fresh for big Catfish with no issues in 5 years. Art
  18. I would check out the cameras for deer hunters if that is the type you are referring too. Art
  19. The thermostat should not block all of the water it should always let some come thru. This is how my other 2 outboards work so I am ASSUMING that to work the same way. Bernie is the man for the correct answer. Art
  20. Cool deal nice place to go I have heard. Art
  21. T.J. I would send a P.M. to Bernie and see if he has time to tear down the Carb. It needs a good cleaning and he can fix it quickly and test it for you as well. I would hate for you to get out on the lake at JJ and putter out. It isn't like there will be another boat coming along any time soon. Art
  22. Bulging can also occur if a battery discharges and freezes it is the reason I leave my boat plugged in in the winter. Art
  23. no I think the horse needs a rest. Thanks for every ones input on this. Art
