  1. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/WestAdvisorView?langId=-1&storeId=11151&page=Battery-Charging#.UaU8akCTiSo Here is the charging profiles in graph form to help you understand what the difference is between the charging rates. The link is for the rest of the info. Thank you Westmarine. Art
  2. I would P.M. T.J. he has lots of reviews on lodges and has been to quite a few of the Northern Lodges. Art
  3. Well done nothing like getting work done and getting interrupted to catch a big fish. Art
  4. Please note that I am in a place where it is legal to fish for bass all year around. I have fished in the time of the spawn and returned the fish back to the water in a timely manner. This is what I have observed. The bass will return to the nest area and continue to guard it. I have seen very little predatory reactions from the surrounding fish. I know there are many that say this condemns the nest and we have wiped out a whole brood of bass. I think the impact is minimum on the bass as far as the breeding and year of the young. Now the important point is if it is illegal for them to be fished then that is what I would be angry about. As far as devastating the lakes population I think that it is not likely. Art
  5. back to topic of Bass Pro please it is heading down the locked road otherwise. Art
  6. nite nite to this we all got a chance to say our peace and it will only get ugly from here. Art
  7. Funny in 38 years you are the first person I have hear Spiel refuse a build too. Just saying.... BTW I own 5 of his masterpieces and am not only proud of them but have been offered more than twice what I paid. Value grows on quality products. Art
  8. Unclamp it and place it on the floor of the boat. If not then vertical puts the stress in line with the transom which will prevent any damage. If you leave it in the horizontal then it is has the leverage and the weight to torque the transom. A strong transom though should not have an issue with a horizontal electrical trolling motor. Art
  9. Go to any plumbing supply and get the sheet goods for building a shower pan. It is a plastic that can be glued together as needed and is flexible enough to fold the corners. Art
  10. The 1600 CC volkswagen was rated between 40 and 50 H.P. stock and runs without a load around 210 F and starts to destruct at 235 F. Air cooled as they are I would see this thing sending a lot of them to the garage with a blown motors and drivetrain issues. However it is cool to see that someone has do this. Art
  11. Good to see T.J. does this mean Monique can catch more fish in more spots further from the camp than you now still? Art
  12. I once found a drowned cow on the river tangled in the brush. I fished downstream from them and we caught a whole herd of catfish. Art
  13. Smacker hand impact like Drifter pictured and Bernie has confirmed is what I have always used with success. Art
  14. They smell a lot like a carp. Art
  15. I would start with the easiest test first. Remove battery from boat fully charged. Go to local auto place and have it load tested. There is no point looking for a down line problem when the foundation is the battery and it is not proven to be solid. Art
  16. I am using the lowrance DI and it shows a whole world that the regular transducer misses. The 800 khz is not read as an average of the size of the cone in depth. It is read as a line or 2 D beam and has the instant update of a flasher with the ease of reading information of a graph. Kind of hard to explain with out getting long winded but I use a flasher for high speed reading, my graph for running in lower speeds than 30 mph and my 800 for trolling speeds and less. They all have a good use but it is up to the operator to learn what it is telling you. Art
  17. I still hold with replacing the switch. Filing the points can cause a hotspot if done incorrectly and cause the contacts to arc and weld themselves in the on position. Art
  18. Ribbits are the bomb. They even have a special twin hook weighted and unweighted to make sure they work correctly. Art
  19. You have added a new element to this saga and that is unless the switch is a heavy duty light switch rated for 15 amps it could also be the issue. I would turn off the circuit breaker and remove the switch. Replace the switch with a heavy duty switch rated for the amp # on the fuse box for the pump. If it has a 15 on it it is a 15 amp fuse 20 etc. If after you do this it cuts out do not touch anything. Remove the cover off of the grey switch that is on the pump look to see if the contacts are open or appear closed. Look at the gauge if it still works and see if what the pressure reads. If the contacts are closed and there is less than 20 lbs of pressure tap the contacts with a non conductive item. If the pump comes on then replace the switch and replace or clear out the 1/8 tube. If it does not come on then test for voltage at the switch with a multi meter. If you are not sure of how to do this stop and have someone who is come out and test for you. Art
  20. Good thing they didn't ask my Grandpa he used to answer that question with " Does it fit between 2 crackers?" or " does it have two eyes?" Art
  21. You are correct Chappee thanks for the info. Shallow well pumps are very rare in my neck of the woods I haven't seen one in years and forgot to consider them in this answer. Art
  22. glad to hear Mike now we can put this thread back to sleep. Art
  23. Replace the squareD switch. It is the gray unit that the wire run into two from power and two to the pump. Look inside of the cover to see if it is 20/40 or a 30/60 switch (cut in cut out pressure). Look carefully at the way it is wired before you take it apart if you wire it wrong you will ruin the new switch instantly and blow the breaker. I also advise you to replace the 3/8th X 6" brass tube it is usually full of debris/scale and will effect the accuracy of the pump pressure. Art
