  1. I drove the Niagara Parkway from Fort Erie to the falls a few times, no idea what is off the main road, but it didn't strike me as a hunting area.
  2. Cool, unfortunately someone will think it would make a great trophy?
  3. John John, Dave, here all the big 3 auto companies had their own versions of the small block = big block thing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_small-block_engine Chevy and GMC trucks and vans shared the same engines, the 4 bolt main 350 was standard in them ordered with a 350, only seen in the high performance models of cars. I don't have any real idea of the customs problems of getting engines made here across the border, so it may have been possible that they used Chevy engines in other GM brands made there, like the Pontiacs. Most of the small block Chevy motors had a lot of interchangeable parts, intake manifolds, heads, crank, rods, they and aftermarket performance enhancing parts were readily available.
  4. No idea how tough your cops are there, here the state highway patrol and most local police departments would have an issue with over width or over height vehicles. Good luck!
  5. I took my first wife on a family trip to Pointe Au Baril, we got a chipmunk in our cabin, a trail of grapes out the door got it out. She wasn't nearly as thrilled with the bat flying inside the cabin, an open door and a net got it out. It seems odd to leave a warmer area that is basically poisonous snake free and encounter them there. Some years ago when I was still able to wander about my yard I had 2 minks wandering it with me, they were the first I had ever seen in the wild here, I thought someones ferrets had escaped until I did some research.
  6. Dave, unless Canada did their engine selection differently? As I recall the only engines offered in the full size Pontiac was a 389 or 421, the Tempest and Lemans had some smaller available engines. 64 GTO 389, single quad, 4 speed, I had one.
  7. Dad had a 53 pontiac wagon, a 60 chevy wagon, a 65 pontiac wagon, a 68 chevy wagon, a 71 pontiac wagon, a 86 chevy wagon, all pulled boats, aluminum, wood, and fiberglass.
  8. I don't believe the reel and paperwork shown are a match, back in the day Pflueger was one of the largest American reel makers. Reels were pretty cheap back then compared to today's prices, and that one looks to be on the lower end of the pricing scale.
  9. https://www.springfishingandboatshow.com/ There is a phone number listed, they can probably provide details? https://www.springfishingandboatshow.com/contact Also.
  10. I didn't see or hear any indication of the depth of water they were fishing, but if wind and current aren't a factor like thru the ice a 1/8th ounce head is probably fine on a 3 inch lure.

  12. The vast majority of Americans would love to make 10k a month!
  13. " Bowfin, Gar, some of the small Sunfish (pumpkinseed, Bluegill), Crappie or Channel Catfish. " Those species tend to be found in calmer back bay areas of the Great Lakes, any sheltered bay off the Great Lakes might have them all.
  14. Some of the same cast of characters.
  15. Great pics Brian, ya a bit of a drive this time of year, not one I would have ever wanted to make.
  16. Welcome back Roy!
  17. It's not a bad program, it seems at times they add drama to everything though?
  18. No bungee cord to keep your rod and reel from being pulled in? small fish pier?
  19. LOL, hard for me to say on that Lex, last time I was on Erie it could have used a couple more feet of water. Lake Erie walleye still biting; trout stocking continues — Fishing Report for Jan. 17 - cleveland.com
  20. I am probably going to side with Terry on this, some of our best spring time fishing was in places that a bunch of different species spawned in, and sometimes their spawning seasons overlapped. Depending on the spring weather you might catch crappie, bluegill, large and smallmouth bass or an occasional northern pike from the same marina in shallow water.
  21. Lake Erie is usually 40% covered by ice this time of year; so far in 2020, there is none Open water fishing! if you don't get blown away!
  22. Just wondering Dan, I used to be able to get plastic drums from customers and keep a few in the garage or barn with the tops cut off and store dry kindling in them for my wood stove, some of them would break easily in very cold weather.
  23. Dan, that plastic you are calling " puck board ", is that cutting board plastic? and isn't it prone to breaking in cold temperatures?
