  1. And then there was the Bamboo pole days? 14-16 feet and great for flipping? LOL
  2. I got a new desktop last year, sadly the choices seemed limited locally to windows 8. I think it was designed to make people long for the good old days of XP or windows 7.
  3. Very limited, I learned on a bait caster back in the 50's when I was 5. The first reel I ever bought was a bait caster, spinning reels looked weird! LOL
  4. LOL Phil, I appreciate the thought, but any place that rocks is rocking too much for me!
  5. http://www.westernbass.com/forum/bantam1-shimano-usa-stocking-jdm-reel-parts-t86351.html Just from the limited info on the link you might try Shimano USA? I know it's probably a hassle?
  6. If I was able to? Anyone from the board would be a big enough star for me!
  7. Low to mid 40's here starting tomorrow, and rain until Sunday. I can see where you folks a bit farther north might have a problem. No minnows or beer for me! Coffee and Sardines? My son and I finally got around to fixing the door on the wood burner last night, just in time for warmer weather! LOL A rick and a half of wood in the garage, more covered outside. We have plenty of food and water, flashlights, lanterns, I don't go anywhere anyhow and my son is smart enough to stay home if it is bad.
  8. Agreed completely! My only point was that I seem to recall him in some marksmanship shows on the History channel. If it is the same guy he can shoot at anything he wants too, as long as it is not me! LOL
  9. Great shooting for real, but I do seem to recall seeing the guy doing it on TV, he is an expert at it. Your average shooter might not have the same results.

  12. Looks real to me, they aren't wearing shorts and t shirts! LOL
  13. http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html You might try this?
  14. Hmmm... I wonder what they thought was going to happen with the advent of email? Online banking and spamming? My phone bill just started coming in the mail with ads from 3 non related companies enclosed in it, who profits from that? Why did our politicians block themselves from the do not call list? So they don't have to pay postage? It seem funny to me that we can conduct our banking, shopping, and government related business on line, but our politicians don't consider it safe enough for on line voting? Perhaps if our politicians made the mail a minimum wage job they could give themselves a raise? LOL
  15. Sort of like gearing in anything, a lower ratio means you don't have to work as hard, top speed may suffer. I still remember fishing deep for smallies on Lake Erie with old Abu reels and like a 3:5 to 1 gear ratio, all the power you needed for just about anything, but trying to catch up to a big smallie jumping out of the deep made you look like a mad man cranking. The early model Shimanos and later model Abus with a 4:75 or so to 1 ratio fixed that problem.
  16. I always liked studded snow tires for winter driving, because of icy conditions.
  17. LOL, a late start in life with a baitcaster? It's really not that hard to use one, practice helps.
  18. Thanks Woodsman, it's usually called a CDL driver here, Commercial Driver's License. I had everything but passengers and tanker endorsements. Drive a potential bomb or throwing passengers off a bus seemed like problems to me. LOL
  19. Just curious? What is an A-Z driver?
  20. I went once, long ago. It was a learning experience, never again.
  21. Have a great day everyone!
  22. Seems like a waste of a nice boat.
  23. http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-Sabiki-bait-rigs-sizes-1-2-4-6-8-10-12-14-YOU-CHOOSE-Rodtek-/360449248340 assuming the information on here is correct? 1 would be the largest.
  24. Use the heaviest maul you can comfortably handle, yes the wood does split easier when it is frozen. Wedges? They are not all equal no matter how much you pay for them. Some of the best I found were at flea markets, and you could tell by looking at them they had been heavily used, probably because they worked well. Some wood splits a lot easier than others, my favorite is Oak, for the effort involved it burns a long time and hot. Pine splits easily, but is a flash in the pan, all we used it for were bonfires. The grain of the wood will also make a difference in easy of splitting. Wood where large branches or stumps joined can be a pain to split. My parents had an extra garage 250 feet behind their home, and my youngest brother had a tree service. We had split wood stacked up on both sides of the drive the whole way back to it. It became so much easier when he got a splitter. LOL
  25. In history class in Jr. High school, our teacher was called out of the room and returned crying and told us what had happened.
