  1. Just guessing that crawfish will be harder for them to find as a food source up there at this time of year than down here. Baitfish will probably make up a good portion of their diet now, use lures that mimic baitfish. White tubes worked fairly well down here this time of year, there were millions of emerald shiners balled up and the smallies and other gamefish would follow them. Dropshotting also will work, and down here a slow trolled crankbait works into November, usually needed to troll them to get the down deep and locate fish.
  2. LMAO! Well Rattle, just my opinion, but when you see on some websites here that Obama is going to take your guns constantly? I get my weekly newspaper and there are 3 ads for stores that sell guns, but only one or two or grocery stores? Creating panic seems to be a very effective sales tool, some one makes a post on a website that they couldn't find ammo for their gun and the stores that sell ammo end up packed with people buying ammo or guns. I am sure it is just a coincidence that the prices of both keep rising? LOL You have to wonder how many of the posts are created by employees of gun and ammo companies? It does create job security?
  3. http://www.georgiatackle.com/about.html If it works down there it will work up here.
  4. Most of the guys I know pull with a 2 wheel drive F 150 or a Chevy pickup two wheel drive, but ramps here tend to be civilized.
  5. http://www.19actionnews.com/story/23647721/poll-americans-like-hemorrhoids-better-than-congress Butt they keep getting reelected.
  6. Cool pics! Can't beat them but we did have this in the area. http://www.19actionnews.com/story/23609117/bobcat-sighting-in-columbia-station
  7. My SeaRay had quite a bit of teak on it, all the products needed to care for it were available at any marine store. It's been almost 30 years and I don't remember the products name, it was done yearly or at best every couple of years. Back then no one I know of used varnish to seal it, it made the next cleanup that much tougher. Just a bit time consuming to get a good look.
  8. jane and finch? Dang! They even have a youtube video, not the Toronto I remember!
  9. I have caught largemouth and smallmouth in the same spots in 20 feet of water at Pointe Au Baril in mid to late September. Just my thought is they follow the food, one day you get them on buzzbaits is the pads and the next day they seem to be gone from the pads. Also got them deep on Lake Erie, 15 - 20 feet fishing for smallies in September and October, even into November. A tube worked deep, blade bait like a vibee of heddon sonar, drop shot, slow rolled spinnerbait.
  10. No idea how your system works up there Ranger, does your postal service sell money orders? Perhaps they would go after him if the item was not shipped?
  11. After spending a trillion bucks or so of tax payers dollars ask how our war on drugs is doing. LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr3TkOGgeJY
  12. LOL Terry, we still get the helicopters flying 4 to 6 abreast low over the fields and woods in my area searching for pot. I can't imagine why some people in the area seem very upset that the county sheriff has started using drones? Then we also had a few homes in the area that were purchased and turned into green houses for indoor pot growing operations.
  13. There are a number of decent ones out there at a low price by a variety of different manufacturers. It's basically a chevy ford chrysler market, everyone has their preferences and price range? You can see reviews of different models and brands on youtube.
  14. When you live in a much warmer climate the heat can bake the brains! LOL
  15. I don't think that would be a good plan stateside! LOL
  16. Iron, I am a gun owner, I have nothing against hunting legally or with people owning guns legally. It just seems the madness has to stop at some point? The rational society here at times seems completely irrational to me, it seems like a civilian arms race here. Some one makes a post on a gun website that Obama is going to take there guns? and the stores that sell them and ammo are packed. We were founded on revolution and getting more revolting all the time? Look at all the secession petitions they had going here from different states. Why? because a black guy is president? Political fear mongering by the opposing party? It wasn't mentioned when the last guy was in office. If my neighbor has 10 guns, do I really need 20? It's crazy, but some seem to thrive on it.
  17. Well it's a soft wood and the amount of heat given off by it is low compared to hardwoods. I have seen others use it and was not at all impressed. Cheap? Me also, but there are a bunch of Amish sawmills in my area and it's not hard to find slab wood cheap, 50 - 60 bucks used to fill my tandem axle trailer with a cord and a quarter of short cut slab wood, and there were a lot of pieces 4x4 4x6. Burning oak, hickory, ash, poplar, cherry, apple, and even black walnut was cheap. My son now helps a couple friends at times clear areas for farmers and brings home pickup loads of wood.
  18. I have had my woodburner now since 1990, it has never seen pine, pine get's used for bonfires.
  19. So, given those caveats, we can see which countries have the highest ownership rates for firearms - and which have the highest gun murder rates. The key facts are: • The US has the highest gun ownership rate in the world - an average of 88 per 100 people. That puts it first in the world for gun ownership - and even the number two country, Yemen, has significantly fewer - 54.8 per 100 people " http://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2012/jul/22/gun-homicides-ownership-world-list
  20. How do you fix a problem if some seem to constantly be search for a way around a law? http://money.cnn.com/2013/09/12/news/companies/slide-fire-gun/index.html?hpt=hp_t3
  21. Summary of Federal Law Federal law imposes various duties on federally licensed firearms dealers. Firearms dealers must, among other things: (1) perform background checks on prospective firearm purchasers; (2) maintain records of all gun sales; (3) make those records available to law enforcement for inspection; (4) report multiple sales; and (5) report the theft or loss of a firearm from the licensee’s inventory.19 Federal law imposes none of these requirements on unlicensed sellers, however. The Gun Control Act of 1968 provides that persons “engaged in the business” of dealing in firearms must be licensed.20 Although Congress did not originally define the term “engaged in the business,” it did so in 1986 as part of the McClure-Volkmer Act (also known as the “Firearms Owners’ Protection Act”). That Act defined the term “engaged in the business,” as applied to a firearms dealer, as “a person who devotes time, attention, and labor to dealing in firearms as a regular course of trade or business with the principal objective of livelihood and profit through the repetitive purchase and resale of firearms.”21 Significantly, however, the term was defined to exclude a person who “makes occasional sales, exchanges, or purchases of firearms for the enhancement of a personal collection or for a hobby, or who sells all or part of his personal collection of firearms.”22 According to a 1999 report issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the current definition of “engaged in the business” often frustrates the prosecution of “unlicensed dealers masquerading as collectors or hobbyists but who are really trafficking firearms to felons or other prohibited persons.”23 http://smartgunlaws.org/private-sales-policy-summary/
  22. I don't know about that Art, they have guns for sale at the local flea market all the time. It is my understanding that a gun dealer needs to be licensed to sell guns, but a private citizen selling his own personal firearms does not. I have never seen anyone at the flea market ask for anything more than cash when selling a gun.
