  1. I seem to recall the Georgian Bay having some rocks? Maybe now there will be enough water over them for safe travel?
  2. http://www.19actionnews.com/story/24716084/87-of-the-great-lakes-frozen The most in a good while.
  3. http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2014/01/29/columbus-skyrocketing-propane-prices-consumer-10.html http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2014/01/26/22455731-prolonged-cold-blast-worsens-propane-shortage-across-midwest?lite It's not just a Canadian problem?
  4. The winter has been consistently colder than normal on this side of Lake Erie too.
  5. If I want to play with them I do it when they are in the livewell.
  6. LMAO!
  7. http://www.lurenet.com/brands/smithwick-lures/smithwick-devils-horse Similar lures have been around a long time, and cheaper too.
  8. Most fish eat other fish, or what ever else is easily available. I cleaned a late fall Steelhead from Lake Erie one time and it had like 24 smaller fish in it's gut, emerald shiners, shad, perch, so I assume what ever was easily caught by it.
  9. I think getting the lure in the fishes face might have a lot to do with it. My biggest walleye 28 inches came on a slow rolled spinner bait with Colorado blades, the very next cast got me a 14-15 inch Crappie. Stupid fish! It's a bass lure! LOL
  10. http://www.evergladesholidaypark.com/fishing.html With probably a limited amount of fishing time available? The wild shiners are probably your best bet for a big fish? Weeds, reeds, and lilies near deeper water? You can also try 8-10 inch plastics worms with probably a 5/0 worm hook.
  11. No, not me Bill, I have about as much use for one now as I do for a boat. Just trying to help her figure out options for unloading it.
  12. Thanks guys, it is not mine and is not in my area. A friend outside my area bought it new in 2006, can't drive it, and is thinking about unloading it. My experience has been with heavy trucks in my area, most had block heaters or perhaps oil heaters. Just from looking at the specs for 2006 models like it I don't see any mention of block or oil heaters standard. It was purchased in South Carolina, so I am guessing there isn't a big demand for them there? Engine? again from the specs, a 350 HP cat diesel, I have no idea if other engines were optional. LOL, women should stick to buying shoes and purses, or other less expensive things they don't use? I am not much help to her with this and the concept is a bit beyond me. You spent 180k for something you can't drive and don't use?
  13. Are engine block heaters a standard item on them?
  14. With MS I am waiting for the Velcro line to come out! LOL
  15. I was in the Tampa Florida area for about 5 weeks in 2009, the news there had a couple of reports of horses being slaughtered in the fields for their meat. The news claimed it could be sold for 40 bucks a pound, dudes really must not like beef?
  16. Now is not the time to be investing in ocean front property?
  17. What Dave said, there are a few of the Roddy spinning reels on ebay, I didn't see that particular model, but like 5 to 30 bucks or so.
  18. In bad weather, 3 - 4 days of snow, rain, overcast skies? Would solar panels actually be able to power much of anything in an emergency? Depending on your home getting on the roof to clean snow off of solar panels? Could get interesting?
  19. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ontario_Highway_7A http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:7A_-_Floating_Bridge.jpg LOL nice bridge back in the day? Sandusky Bay here off of Lake Erie had a lot of old school wooden boat houses, most had trouble fitting anything over a 16 foot boat, big in the day? A bamboo pole made it really easily to drop your bait in just the right spot, and since Crappie were the usual target? a bamboo pole was all you needed. Some of those boat houses are still around, they were old when I was a kid.
  20. And then there was the Bamboo pole days? 14-16 feet and great for flipping? LOL
  21. I got a new desktop last year, sadly the choices seemed limited locally to windows 8. I think it was designed to make people long for the good old days of XP or windows 7.
  22. Very limited, I learned on a bait caster back in the 50's when I was 5. The first reel I ever bought was a bait caster, spinning reels looked weird! LOL
  23. LOL Phil, I appreciate the thought, but any place that rocks is rocking too much for me!
  24. http://www.westernbass.com/forum/bantam1-shimano-usa-stocking-jdm-reel-parts-t86351.html Just from the limited info on the link you might try Shimano USA? I know it's probably a hassle?
  25. If I was able to? Anyone from the board would be a big enough star for me!
