There should be a free cloud storage on the new computers. That combined with an external hard drive should spare you pain in the future.. I'm still trying to learn windows 8 and it can be frustrating...

It's like fishing in an aquarium when the water clears. You can travel for miles and never get deeper than 6 feet of water. And I've never seen a wormy perch out of there..
-
I had to work this morning and I haven't been out fishing not even once this year... I don't like making resolutions but this year I intend to get out fishing and actually post a report here instead of just adding snarky comments on other people's threads...

Can you still get a card if you spent hundreds on a generator and gas to get you through it and your food wasn't spoiled? What would happen if a real disaster struck? We are woefully unprepared for the most part and there wouldn't be any food in the stores anyways...

oh crap... looks like my spot...

Anyone who has the means should be buying a generator.. two storms this year that knocked out the power....

If you buy 2 they are made to stack together.. no good for towing behind a machine but great for pulling by hand.. -
Scheduled off on Christmas but working New Years day..

Wow did anyone see this? Short Hills hunt and protest
pics replied to tb4me's topic in General Discussion
I agree it should have been a draw system.. not too many natives hunt with a bow and I suspect it's the same group of hunters in Dundas valley, short hills, the rbg and Iroquois heights.. -
Valens and Binbrook won't be open until they have good enough ice due to insurance issues. There's Martindale pond and the boat launch at pier 4 that should be thick enough soon. If you like to fish early or late in the season then ask Santa for a float suit... or try to find a used one for sale.... take no chances
-
Still too soon but if you have a float suit and a buddy with rope and his own suit...have at er... it could be 4 inches in one spot, 2 in another.. BUT, there was a report of safe ice in fishmasters marina

Science bad.. profit good

Went to the Canadian tire sale on the Thursday and picked up the synthetic oil, mats for the cars, an aluminum work platform for painting and a small compressor for my father in law for christmas.... all practical stuff I needed but at a better price than normal... while I'd like a new TV, my ten year old lcd is just fine for now.... our computer is on the fritz but money will be tight this year so need to come out of the holidays with zero credit card debt.. I was watching the news and there was a long lineup for coach purses but it was orderly and civil...not sure how anyone can consider a Chinese made purse a bargain at $150.. but that's just me..lol. besides, where is the savings if you have to put it on credit and pay interest later.. our boxing day sales are sometimes as crazy as the American black Friday sales but I never hear of any violence associated with it......

For a grad starting out it isn't a bad wage.. it's Monday to Friday for the most part and it involves meeting and networking which will lead to better opportunity in the future. And the cost of living and proximity to good fishing makes Peterborough a decent place to live

Canada approves production of GM salmon eggs on commercial scale

What will they feed these fish? That itself will have an impact on some other species.... -
It's not ok for anyone in this country to work for minimum wage when you are working in conditions such as theirs.... flown in for up to 4 weeks at a time with 14 hour days.... the job was to haul 200 tons of samples and load them into airplanes by hand... they had no way of getting them out in a timely manner in case of injuries, there was no isolation pay, and the camp conditions were deplorable... we don't live in a third world country here....
-
Cliffs was the one who tried to force their native employees to work for $140 a day. That's for a 12 hour+ shift.. they walked off the job. We don't hear about this stuff on southern ont. Its an amazing fishing area and it would be a shame for them to destroy it...

Lines are drawn in the sand with respect to Suzuki.. it seems that the conservative types discount anything to do with him and global warming...

The worst part of it was having to work 13 hours Saturday night instead of 12.. otherwise an hour makes no real difference to me because I work nights and days in the same week. I spend half my days off feeling like a truck hit me

When I hit New Liskerd it starts to feel like I'm up north.. Not many guys I work with have been past Algonquin... -
Wired would be the way to go. I'm planning on going with ip cameras wired with cat5 cable which provides signal and power so you don't have to run co-ax and power separate. You would need a hub and a computer to go with it. You could also access them with a smart phone....

Being more of a lurker than poster doesn't help... Due to work, home projects, side jobs etc and the fact that my wife hates fishing sidelines my ability to go fishing... The fact that I'm going moose hunting in 2 weeks burns her ass as well.. Lol. I might even get some fishing in for an actual report.... Shore fishing spots in a big city?? I see both sides of it but most people who live and fish in the city know the spots so they aren't much of a secret...
