  1. I fished it on Wednesday.. caught and released a 4-5 lb pike and lost another. Saw a crappie on the camera as well as a bass and some perch.. there seems to be a good year class of pike all around the 5 lb range. Two years ago we caught a lot in the 2 lb range...
  2. had a cottage nearby.. I believe it...
  3. Home Depot sells carpet for boats but you have to search the custom order samples...
  4. Easy access to the lake but with no parking signs along the road... I guess you have to know someone or park where legal and sled to there
  5. propane prices go up and down at Costco depending on the market price.. The Ancaster store charges by the litre and most times the tank isn't fully empty to begin with. I then use a mr buddy adapter to refill the 1 lb tanks.(then tested with soapy water) so it costs about 60 cents for a 1 lb bottle. You have to take care to store them outside as well..
  6. Costco charges by the litre to fill the propane tanks . Last fill up was just around $10 for me. When the expiry date is close you could do an exchange for a newer one and then go back to costco... the exchange company will recertify the tank and put it back into service...
  7. He's reasonable to his guests bit he also threatens to have your vehicle towed of you park anywhere near the public ramp without getting his permission even though it's owned by the crown... if you don't stay there but you use the ramp you have to check in with him..
  8. I went today Dave... fishing was a bit slow but the guys that fished yesterday said the fish showed up in the afternoon. Another local said the fish maybe having trouble entering the bay due to an ice wall near the channel over by turkey point??... I went out of old cut. There is clear water near Jimmy's huts but further out towards st willys it gets murky...st Williams is said to be clear water
  9. It looks great.. I can see a little torque in the drill. I wonder if one of those handles that are on a hammer drill would eliminate that?
  10. When I was out at long point today I heard what sounded like thunder that got louder as it got closer. When it went under me it felt like a like a wave under the water...The water then went up and down...It was really cool but I wonder what a newbie would thing of that?
  11. She wanted to go home... 3 days is long enough....
  12. My wife was in for 3 days after an emergency c section was done... Mac in Hamilton..
  13. There should be a free cloud storage on the new computers. That combined with an external hard drive should spare you pain in the future.. I'm still trying to learn windows 8 and it can be frustrating...
  14. It's like fishing in an aquarium when the water clears. You can travel for miles and never get deeper than 6 feet of water. And I've never seen a wormy perch out of there..
  15. I had to work this morning and I haven't been out fishing not even once this year... I don't like making resolutions but this year I intend to get out fishing and actually post a report here instead of just adding snarky comments on other people's threads...
  16. Can you still get a card if you spent hundreds on a generator and gas to get you through it and your food wasn't spoiled? What would happen if a real disaster struck? We are woefully unprepared for the most part and there wouldn't be any food in the stores anyways...
  17. oh crap... looks like my spot...
  18. Anyone who has the means should be buying a generator.. two storms this year that knocked out the power....
  19. If you buy 2 they are made to stack together.. no good for towing behind a machine but great for pulling by hand..
  20. Scheduled off on Christmas but working New Years day..
  21. I agree it should have been a draw system.. not too many natives hunt with a bow and I suspect it's the same group of hunters in Dundas valley, short hills, the rbg and Iroquois heights..
  22. Valens and Binbrook won't be open until they have good enough ice due to insurance issues. There's Martindale pond and the boat launch at pier 4 that should be thick enough soon. If you like to fish early or late in the season then ask Santa for a float suit... or try to find a used one for sale.... take no chances
  23. Still too soon but if you have a float suit and a buddy with rope and his own suit...have at er... it could be 4 inches in one spot, 2 in another.. BUT, there was a report of safe ice in fishmasters marina
  24. Science bad.. profit good
  25. Went to the Canadian tire sale on the Thursday and picked up the synthetic oil, mats for the cars, an aluminum work platform for painting and a small compressor for my father in law for christmas.... all practical stuff I needed but at a better price than normal... while I'd like a new TV, my ten year old lcd is just fine for now.... our computer is on the fritz but money will be tight this year so need to come out of the holidays with zero credit card debt.. I was watching the news and there was a long lineup for coach purses but it was orderly and civil...not sure how anyone can consider a Chinese made purse a bargain at $150.. but that's just me..lol. besides, where is the savings if you have to put it on credit and pay interest later.. our boxing day sales are sometimes as crazy as the American black Friday sales but I never hear of any violence associated with it......
