  1. Well the title says it all. Was planning on taking my wife ice fishing on Nippissing for the weekend in Feb, but everything is booked. We both put in our vacation time so I'm kinda stuck. We are still planning on going fishing just if any of you guys have suggestions that would be great on where to go. I have my own gear and dont have an issue driving 6 hours from my house which is close to Brantford. $500 is max I am willing to spend on the weekend for accommodation. If I have to stay at a motel for the night and then head out that would work. Thanks guys
  2. over the past week I have discovered that 3 of my good graphite poles have developed loose guides. I am hoping the members here would have some idea on how I can fix them without sending them out to a person who repairs them professionally. I was thinking about using the glue that is put out to put the end guides on . any suggestion would help
  3. Hoping to tap into the wealth of experience of those on this board. Planning a trip to a remote lodge somewhere within 6 hours of Toronto next year - maybe May or June. Like to drive there but may consider fly-in. It'll be myself, my dad and my 10 yr old son. Looking for a clean place, with good fishing for walleye and pike. May or may not bring my own boat - haven't decided if I want to trailer that far. Either a place that provides meals or we can cook ourselves. Any ideas and if you have had experience there? Thanks
  4. Hey all, Fishing ended early to today with the crack of my 6wt avid splintering into 5 pieces. I'll be sending it back but realistically it'll be mid June until I can expect to have it back. So If I can find the right rod at the right price I'm considering adding a new stick to the arsenal. Wouldn't be bad to have a backup considering I use it frequently. What I'm looking for is a rod for throwing trout streamers and bass fishing. I'm used to a med-fast action but am not stuck on that. I'm willing to spend in the 3-400 range at most, if I can find the right deal. If anyone has any suggestions of rods to consider or knows of any sales I'd be interested. I've heard good things about the TFO BVKs, anyone have anything good or bad to say about those? Thanks, Tim
