A lot of fish processing plants will sell you fish out the back door... Last time there I bought fresh haddock for $2.50 a pound.. if you buy lobster from the boat it will be cheaper or free as we found out in Cape Breton when they gave us 3.. we were offered a 10lb one but I told the guys it wouldn't fit in the pot!!.. Next year we will probably go back..

unfortunately that doesn't work anymore John.. there was a guy with 38 years service that scratched 2 shifts after taking 2 single days vacation and HR told him he said going to get a 3 day suspension for causing hardship to the company .. this is someone with a clean record.. fishing isn't a good enough excuse..lol

same problem with me sometimes.. 5 years now that I've had it and the doctors can't seem to help.. just more useless pills.. the only thing that has made a difference is going to a chiropractor in Ancaster that has Vertigo herself.. Dr. Slote.. it costs me $40 a visit but still better than missing work.. sometimes being in a rocking boat triggers it but water intake, stress, fatigue etc will also trigger it.. I had my boat out for the first time in 2 years and I did well.. natural health food stores carry something called Aconite which helps. I carry some everywhere I go..

there may be more wheat due to the depressed price of corn and beans.. as for crop rotation we haven't seen that around here.. the big players around my place just rent the land so taking care of it isn't high on their priority list.. just put more pellet fertilizer down, spray the round up and go...This year I have noticed that with the drought the fields that aren't rotated are doing poorly..20mm for the last month ... I'm not sure how much a field can sweat when the ground is dried up...

JoePa, I respect your opinion but I'm sitting here watching Obama and his Mexican counterpart at a live press conference and wondering just how Trump would handle these questions from the media.. He would only have approved media people to start with so anyone who asks the tough questions wouldn't even be there.. not even the Mexican president would be allowed.. It would appear that like many Americans that you rely on a very biased news feed.... This all reminds me of the propaganda that exists in many socialist and communist 3rd world countries...

The whole thing is very entertaining being on the outside looking in but terrifying at the same time.. I just can't believe that these 2 are the best of the best and will be in charge of a huge arsenal of nukes.. the country is a powder keg right now and no one seems to have a decent solution..

Those trailers aren't built that sturdy.. even a black bear could get into one if they so desired.. I would imagine that food could be motivating factor..lol.. when I go moose hunting we stay in a converted car trailer which is much sturdier but if the bear was really determined it could get in.. good thing they are pretty much in bed by the time we go...

That's a cool trip.. some of those back bays where the big boats anchor have some huge gar in them...I work the same shifts as your girlfriend and it sucks sometimes.. the family has to alter their whole weekend when I'm on the 3 nights...

OI, the pizza place in the falls is Antica. It's good but pricey.. wow, that's some crazy "stuff"... Make America great again means what?? was it great in the 30's , the 50's or maybe the 70's?.. From the sounds of his running mate I would say they are aiming at the 50's when all was good and prosperous as long as you were a straight, white, anglo... What amazes me is how people become so committed to one or the other party that they are blind to any of the stupid stuff their party does or says..

I will make the occasional cast but when you are targeting trout and hook into a big pike the trollers get grumpy.. if I ever get back there I would love to have a second boat..

I'd love to do another Nipigon trip.. the guy I went with only likes to troll for brookies which is torture to me. I Love casting to fish I can see in shallow water.

I don't eat out much but when I do I like the Burger Barn... the breakfast Monday to Friday between 8 and 10 is $5 for bacon, 3 eggs, home fries and toast..and no tax.. and the burgers are great.. I'd love to try Memphis Fire in Stoney Creek or the saltlick smokehouse downtown.. there are several new restaurants in Hamilton that look great but a lot are hipster type places.. not for me.. I also enjoyed the 541 eatery on Barton St.. it's a co-op kind of restaurant with volunteers but they have good food.. if you buy a button it goes to someone who can't afford to pay.. and the place has a 5 star rating on TripAdvisor..

Looks like an awesome place... a lot of southern Ontario guys think that Nipissing is the far North so I'm not surprised there aren't many that go up there. Tonight at work I told the guys I traveled 8 hours north to fish and not one of them has ever been that far. More fish for us I guess..

A question for the Americans here.. why do you have such aggressive police? The American soldiers seem to have the same attitudes wherever they are stationed while on tour.. I have never felt like I had to watch what I'm doing during a traffic by stop by our police and if they were rude or aggressive then I would ask to speak to their superior.. try that in the States and you might find yourself handcuffed on the ground...

Dr slote in Ancaster has helped me deal with it.. a neck adjustment seems to help with blood flow.. . the ear, nose and throat specialist was useless.. the chiropractor was my last resort but it comes out of my pocket..$$.. if I could only get rid of the numbness in my hand now..

Haven't caught one in years.. of course I haven't fished much either but my last couple of quests for wallys have been a dismal failure..lol..

Lots of aches and pains from physical labor but it's nothing compared to having to deal with Vertigo. Sitting in a boat that's slightly moving but feeling as if you are in the perfect storm...that sucks..

Great trip and report... it would appear that the only thing it lacked was sunscreen...lol

I am going to be starting to restore mine soon.. it's only a 14 footer but it's nice and wide.. sadly it hasn't seen the water for a couple of years..

I have a guy in Beamsville fixing my motor.. found him on Kijiji.. he works from home and seems busy enough...
