I like the bargain basement at Cabelas but other than that I usually don't buy much at either store. Sail, bills bait and fishing world have everything I need...

An East coast report would be awesome!!.. we also stop in Drummondville on the way east.. a hotel desk clerk once told us to park near the front door and we always follow that kind of advice.. that and buy gas at the last Ontario station and the first new Brunswick one because the price in Quebec is too high..although the price of beer at the Costco there is right!!..

I was right where I am today.. at work.. back then we had to crowd around the radio to hear what was going on (in between charging and tapping heats) along with updates from the guys in the cranes ... I didn't see any television coverage until 7:30 that night... I can only imagine the shock of someone coming out of the bush after a week and hearing the news days after it happened..

Argh... agency nurses can be pretty bad.. the good ones get good jobs and some of the not so good ones take the low pay agency jobs.. either way there's no excuse for something like this!!

I used to have a place on the Burnt River system above 3 brothers falls.. lots of small muskies and smallmouth below the falls.. we did quite a bit of snorkeling and you wouldn't believe how many big logs are still on the bottom of the river..

Go to the local wharf and watch how the locals fish.. you should be able to get a few flounder, especially if you can find some live clams for bait..

I love how many deer there are in the park... you pretty much see them every day!

A bottle deposit would certainly help get rid of the waste created by the bottles..

The amount paid for resources to the government is too small to begin with.. if we can get a case of 24 plastic bottles of water for less than 2 bucks after bottling and transportation is factored in, then Nestlé isn't paying enough for it. Regulations should be tightened up for all who have water permits..

tracking bears at night is kind of scary. .. nothing else is likely to touch it before morning anyways.. the problem with bears is their meat spoils very fast and the quality of it would depend on the temperature overnight .. a lot of guys bring a generator and freezer for the spring hunt...this guy probably has a lot of followers who will now want to hunt the same way but how many can make the same shot? Ethics and respect for the quarry should come first.. just because you can doesn't mean you should... kind of like fishing for muskie when the water temperature is in the 80's..

I would talk to the ex to let her know that she may get a call.. your divorce is fairly recent so that usually results in one but if you have a good relationship with her there shouldn't be any problem. Hunting equipment is expensive but you can get the stuff you need over time. Bow hunting might be an option if you don't end up getting a PAL..

Looks as if the government in Alberta is going to outlaw hunting with a spear.. I think there's too much room for error myself.. with a bow you can hit the same 3 inch spot consistently from 30 yards, try that with a spear ... Celebrating excessively shows little respect for the animal..

The 19 year old was a very popular athlete in his school.. if a young ,healthy and strong guy like him can drown then anyone can.. The undertow can be deadly when the winds are blowing..

I'm watching a boat in the harbor heading towards lake Ontario here in Hamilton.. a half an hour ago I couldn't see across it due to heavy rain with lightning.. not the smartest move..you never know when a storm will pop up on days like this.. not much rain at work yesterday or today but 15 minutes from here at home we had an inch or more..

I just can't see how anyone could support a guy who mocked a disabled reporter... he's running for president for gods sake.. imagine if you had a disabled child who fought their whole life to fit in and succeed only to be made fun of by the presidential candidate.... even if he loses he's already convinced his supporters that the election is rigged so he can't win... either way I see chaos..

Scary situation for our economy if Trump wins . If his campaign promises come true we could be facing an unemployment rate above 15%. There would be a trade war that we couldn't win. With a weakened NATO look for Russia to invade more countries while the US pretends it's none of their business. Our Arctic sovereignty will be a task as well.. it will definitely be a changed world..
