  1. I agree with Akrisoner here. They don't make them like the used too! Also I have an 80's 2 stroke Evinrude 25 HP for my 14, the engine runs mint, there is more then enough new, aftermarket and used parts out there that finding something when I break it (*knock on wood*) will be easy. That being said I agree with you that the used older motors are not cheap and the price can get up there, I spent $900 on my 25 HP. Best off to keep an eye on Kijiji or head up north and find a "Mom and Pop" marina or small engine shop. 90% that old guy working there has 10 motors out back he could sell you. My buddy father in law has a place like that on the 127 North of Bancroft. I got my boat and motor there and couldn't be happier. Most of the older motors are pretty bullet proof too, for me that says it all. Buying new does give you a full life for the motor but the way I look at it, the parts are more expensive when it does break down. But they are nice and shiny :0 2 Stroke over 4 stroke all the way, mixing fuel is easy and the engines are lighter.
  2. OK put the underlay (underpad) down first. It only goes on the tread part of the step, start at the back of the tread (tread is the part of the step that you step on) and bring the under pad all the way to just under the nose of the stair. Use staples to secure it and just tack it on the parameter. To start for the carpet; Are you running the the carpet in the middle of the stairs like a runner? or are you covering the whole stair? It really doesn't make a huge difference for the concept of the install but there is tips for each. Carpet: Start again at the bottom of the stair case. Using staples hold the carpet the riser of the bottom most step. Make sure to staple the carpet right at the nose of the stair. Then roll the carpet around the stair and pull it tight to the back of the tread where the riser and tread meet. Staple it there into the tread of the step. Put a crease in the carpet to help fold it up the riser and again staple it at the bottom of the riser and the top near the nose. repeat this until you get to the top step. If you notice the carpet is not tight or snug on the stair you can staple the outter edges of the parameter. If you are doing the running the install is the same but you will staple the outter edges on the tread for each step. PM me if you run into trouble. Best of luck. FYI buy an electric pin stable or rent one they are worth gold for this install.
  3. That is a lot of money to cough up for one area and if more town ships follow that this example then things could get out of hand. Maybe a good idea would be for the GRCA to have a fee to fish the Grand. I think this approach would be best as there would be one fee for the GRCA, there would be less stress and such with do I need a permit for this area or that area. The fee would help keep the asshats under control. The ones that pollute the river and banks, who do things like the picture posted. I'm by no means a rich man but I can see the need for stuff like this, some people just suck. my 2 cents.
  4. Nice haul. You ever get bothered by anyone about fishing and do they have limits for species?
  5. Very nice, Makes me want to take up ice fishing next year.
  6. I would have NOPE'D out of there! I am not a fan of spiders and that this is way to big for my liking.
  7. I got to admit this post peeked my interest in these and now I can say that I want one lol. That's all I need another toy.
  8. Thanks for all the awesome info guys, I am count down the days. I will make sure to get pictures, maybe a go pro video.
  9. Look like a lot of fun, not sure I would be down with traipsing through the bush at night. The thought of those big ass spiders makes my skin crawl. The eel and the crab where very cool.
  10. But how stable are those kayaks that you sit so high up on? I would worry that I would be in the lake as often as in the boat.
  11. Nail polish seems like a brilliant idea!
