  1. Try a spark plug as has been suggested. Clean or replace the air filter And run seafoam through it for the next couple of tanks of fuel. If that doesn't work, it probably needs some carb work. It may cost you around a hundred bucks at a small engine repair shop. It is at the point where you owe the lawnmower, not the other way around.
  2. Traffic was kinda slow till hwy 9. After that, we sailed up to glen orchard. We left Oakville @ 4:40 and were at the cottage @ 7:10. So, an extra 20 mins. I feel for those leaving tomorrow.
  3. It keeps the number of people down. Trailer parks are licensed with a capacity of people they can have on the property. It sucks but if everyone who had a trailer could have a bunch of people every weekend over, the park would be a zoo. It was a pain but it was kinda nice not always having to entertain when we had our trailer. I have ours up for sale. Its a 30ft'r and sleeps 6. Most parks want trailers that are less than 10 hears old. Remember that when looking for one. you can build a deck and have a small shed at most places. You have to do your homework. See what is offered and what is included. Make sure you have a sewage hookup, kinda important otherwise you will have to get a honey wagon that you empty your tanks into then have to dump. It can be messy if there is a leak or spill. It isnt exactly cheap to own a trailer but it is cheaper than buying a cottage. PM me if you want any more info.
  4. Probably 8-10k. Not what you want to hear but its an old hull, refurbed or not, its old. Good luck!!
  5. Great report as always Joey!!! Nice ski and great pics.
  6. Beauty fish!! Way to start the season!!!
  7. Check your grounds CAREFULLY on the trailer. If you are ok at the receiver side (car) then the issue is somewhere on the trailer. OR you can go to a trailer repair shop and they will get you going in no time.
  8. Wayne, who cares about the truck, it can be replaced. Jen can't buddy. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. I was told cancer is a journey in life for both the person going through it and the family from the get go. Your family's journey continues with a bunch of twists and turns. Stay strong and Jen will get through it. Let me know if you guys need a lift or anything. I'm off till August so a drive up to Penetang will be kinda nice to beat the boredom.
  9. Good luck to the two of you tomorrow. I start my maintenance treatments tomorrow and am not looking forward to being wired up like an xmas tree for 8 hours.
  10. Thanks Vance. It is called Starbrite. It works great and a bottle is under 20 bucks and it will work wonders on the scum line. The big jug I bought was from a marina's end of season sale. Canadian Tire sells the smaller bottle but it is enough to do your boat twice if you water it down. Full strength is not needed.
  11. Go to Canadian Tire and pick up some hull cleaner. It is a weak acid solution that breaks down quickly. Get a spray bottle, mix. 1/3 cleaner with 2/3 tap water and spray all over under the water line. Let it sit for 5 minutes then give a it a light scrubbing with a car wash brush and spray off. I bought a one gallon jug 4 years ago and still have enough for 2 more seasons.
  12. Cliff, a new car will cost you 3-4 thousand a year in depreciation plus whatever goes wrong along the way. If you spend 2 k a year on hour subaru, you are making money. The drivetrain has at least another hundred k in it. Drive it right down into the ground then replace it. I have spent enough money on cars in the past 25 years that I could have bought another small house. I plan on driving old cars in decent shape for the next 10-15 years. A car is a car is a car is a car.......... Ultimately though, whatever floats your boat. Btw, find out what the prob is with the blower and then hit the wreckers, you will find it.
  13. Rich, also check out iboats.com. The forums there are really helpful. Whether its questions about fiberglass or motor work and everything in between, you can find it there. Good luck. As long as there is no rot, all your work is the relatively easy stuff. Painstaking with wiring but definitely workable with a tester and voltmeter. Good luck. The motor is great. Just make sure you run good quality oil and dont thrash it.
  14. Ankles. Nasty spots to get bit. During black fly season, I spray my whole body down with Muskol before I get dressed. Other than the lil buggers flying around my face, I find I dont get bit by them thankfully. For bad skeeters, I still have some paint thinner Muskol thats 95% deet from the 80's that I break out.
  15. Good to hear Beans!!! Keep it up, chemo sucks royally but you gotta do what you gotta do to stay on the green side. Keep us posted on your progress.
  16. Mitch, nice to meet you this morning. Thank you very much for the cannoes, they will definitely be used quite a bit this summer. Nice little place you have there. Anybody looking for a cottage resort this summer on a nice lake, this is it.
  17. Good luck. I told you where to go for pickeral. As for pike, they are literally all over the place. You dont need to venture very far.
  18. Misfish, there's 5 kids at the cottage. The problem is, there won't be one around when I would like to go paddling.
  19. Mitch, I am in for them. I can pick them up this weekend as I will be up at the cottage. I sent you a PM.
  20. 870 Express combo. Yes, it may rust but for the price, you will have a shotgun that can do everything for you now. You can purchase finer firearms later when you have some extra dough. Keep it greased and lubed and it will be fine.
  21. Keep it up!!!! You are looking like a completely different guy.
  22. You tell your Mrs to fight this bugger. I finished chemo 2 months ago and am finally semi returning to normal. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
