My condolences to you and your family Lew. You certainly have been put to the test the last few years. This is a very nice tribute you have written about your brother. You have a relationship with him that would make anyone jealous, he sounds like a great guy.

I've fished the lake a few times before, but with my fish averaging slightly better than hammerhandle (25-27 inches), and my boat a puny 14 feet, I haven't bothered to enter. I think the guy's name who pretty much is a shoe-in to win most years is Dave Rochette.

no doubt that's a nice pike for that lake, but the only way that pike is over 10 pounds is if you are 6'7" and 250 pounds...we call that the reefhawg effect.

Hey Joey, how about that cooler you're sitting in? Unfortunately I am about 95% certain I will not be at Lakair this year. On the positive side, this means there is reason for people to fish the tourney, rather than watching the inevitable of having the trophy handed to me.

the remax parry sound site (as do other real estate sites) has some info on local lakes but unfortunatley some of it may be unreliable. One of these sites said our lake has "fat head" in it. What the heck is fat head??? Perhaps they caught me snorkelling one time. Knowing that area, most of the lakes up that way are Pike, and both types of bass. Some have walleye. Good luck with your search.

Good report. I'd take a 10lb pike any day. Kid must still be beaming about that one.

good luck bud, when all else fails may I suggest crying? Man I had a lot of girlfriends who cried themselves out of some sticky situations (especially speeding tickets!!). I say go in there and cry like a schoolgirl.

no "good" advice for you other than however this works out, consider it a learning experience. Read the fine print (ie see above post) and look for legal loopholes. At the end of the day though, if you're guilty...I say pay up and make sure you don't make the same mistake twice. Well, lets say don't do it a third time. The price to me seems reasonable. You had it so long past the due date the store would have to believe the games were never coming back. Naturally there are others who would've wanted the same games, and the store would have to purchase new copies to satisfy their customers. Telling people "I'll call you when its in" when its already 3 weeks late doesn't cut it, people will take their business elsewhere.

Carry an anchor in your pocket or the black flies and skeeters will carry you away! I was just there this week-end, and when the wind died down the bugs picked up. At times almost unbearable. Caught some pike and OOS bass, but for the most part fishing was fairly slow.

Welcome to Barrie. I've lived here a couple of years and its a great place to be. Can't say I've heard of a 19" perch though.

trolling for musky banging rocky bottom I will use close to 4 feet of 150lb fluorocarbon. I've been using 50lb for pike but some of these leaders have frayed and then they are toast.
