  1. dude, while you're there score me some of those cookies. Is there anything better for the munchies?
  2. what the frick did that have to do with potato salad??? Skip the goofy song and get right into the wacky contortion stuff I say
  3. Hello all, hoping to get the boat wet for the whopping third time this season and I'm thinking of trying uncharted waters (for me at least). I'm thinking of fishing Young Lake (not too far from Norland or Head Lake) this Saturday. I've fished Head Lake a few times, but when I drive home I'm pretty sure I pass a place called "Split Rail" campground that is supposedly on Young Lake. When I google it, or even do a search on this site, I can't find squat about Young Lake or this Split Rail place. Can anyone tell me anything about Young Lake (species of fish to expect, weedy ? lots of numbers but little size etc) or anything about Split Rail (ie can I launch my boat there). Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  4. the Moody Blues are still alive??? Never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed that (and yes, the play on words is intentional)
  5. just kidding all, although it was nice of some of you to try and explain it though!
  6. there are fish in kempenfelt bay??? geez I have to get out there someday
  7. i don't get it
  8. Too funny. Happy birthday
  9. Awesome report! Nice that you were able to get all the comforts of home to the back lake too (the motor is a nice start!)
  10. Moosonee is nice this time of year...now if only I knew where Moosonee is
  11. One of these days I'll have to get me one of those dang black fury's (used em all the time as a kid actually...so that's one old lure we're talking about). All the best on the east coast Clive
  12. Never heard of this place, but is there a smallmouth out there that wouldn't fall for a tube jig under the right circumstances?
  13. funny that this topic comes up now. I saw an outboard on Sunday that I'm sure some guy had painted himself. Also had some red "mercury" stickers on it. The colour and font wasn't something that I've seen on a merc before. Unfortunately, I don't know the answers to your questions as to where they got the paint/stickers. On the positive side, the older and dumpier your motor looks, the less likely someone is going to "pinch" it.
  14. Sweet Georgia Brown son...those are some serious bass.
  15. I had some old humminbird, no clue anymore what the model was. Bought it used off some guy, cost me a fortune. carrie it in a milkcrate and ran it off a car battery!
  16. Great report and photos, thanks for sharing. That boat owner probably ain't too happy with the joyride his son went on! And the keys on the bumper!!! Go buy a lotto ticket cause you've got some serious horseshoes up there
  17. I've got one like that with a 15 hp and it moves pretty good. That thing should fly with a 40!
  18. are you nuts? If you're on a body of water that has the big toothy critters forget about those pansy walleye. Slap on a leader, a big honkin lure, set the motor to troll at 6 mph and go get yourself a big'un!
  19. there's a little waterfall where the seguin river goes under the train bridge, lots of smallies there. Also, along the fitness trail not far from there you can cast out and easily reach cabbage fields in 10 feet of water that drops down to 20
  20. my son has the same bib...oh ya, heck of a report/photos too
  21. whenever I fished Jordan i went to live bait...leave it in their face long enough and they'll find it

    Vacation

Remember these 3 important things: 1) You're on vacation (man I need one bad) 2) The kids are having fun (that makes life easier)! 3) 3 inch fish make for nice bait (assuming that's legal of course)
  23. Nice report! Hey 3 firsts means 3 personal bests in a day! Not too bad. Best part is next one of each of these species you catch will probably be another personal best
  24. what everyone else said. 3 mph is for pickerel
  25. great looking fish! I was at Port Dalhousie (if that's the Port D you're referring to) but all I caught was a sore butt from the merry go round
