  1. "Once you go black...you never go back" Turns out this is NOT a fishing rule, but I do like me black baits.
  2. I'm very disappointed in wikipedia...using the word "anecdote" in the definition of "anecdotal" don't help much
  3. nice report. I'll give you $5 for the GPS coordinates of the 7 lb'er
  4. Take em home for the kids to play with. Then when the minnows "get tired", daddy puts them in the garden so they can have a "dirt nap"
  5. Wow, what a report! And how the heck do you remember all that stuff anyways! If I catch more than 3 fish in a day i couldn't tell you how many i caught
  6. Don't wanna burst your bubble snady, but I actually had the same thing happen, except mine was about 1/4 the size of your brute. I've got a photo too, but this is before the age of digital...and me too lazy to scan etc
  7. Any Ramones fans?? Only the biggest one right here. Got their modified presidential seal tattooed on me many years ago. Used to go to their concerts every summer and even follow them around a bit from show to show in southern ontario. Scored a whole bunch of guitar picks from them, and even a vicks coughdrop from joey! His death was a kick in the chops...and then DeeDee's...and then Johnny's...time has not treated da brutha's well! Nonetheless, before I sink into a depression...nice job on I wanna be sedated...but when played live it should be 3 times faster and sound a bit like a locomotive! Follow that up with a "one two free fo" and shoot right into the next song. What the world needs is a Ramones tribute band for us who still crave that punk rock wall of sound...on the other hand, those Parry Sound locals would have had no clue what they were listening to! Good job broadening their horizons!
  8. Launched the boat this evening in Kempenfelt Bay to give my 3 year old a little tour around. Saw something swimming through the water...muskrat? beaver? Nope, on closer inspection it was about a 35 inch pike swimming around with its head above water taking in the sights! Watched it do that for a good 30 seconds, and we got within about 15 feet of it before it finally submarined with a big swirl. We had a great time, with him driving the boat quite erratically. After an hour and a half it was time to go, but the launch to get out of the water at dusk was freakin ridiculous! I now know why there have been so many posts about launch etiquette etc.! This was my first (and hopefully last) experience with a busy boat launch. Although it was great to get out with the youngster, that launch at the end of the night was something else. Luckily, I was able to sneak in and out in under a minute when some yahoo plugged up the launch docks with his boat, while his vehicle and trailer were nowhere in sight!
  9. :D not sure Silvio if you had the first quote in mind when you made yours, but thats pretty funny
  10. get it done right is all i can say, this is not the time to cheap out. As a funeral director I see it far too often that families are in disarray because there is no clear cut person appointed to make decisions (executor/estate administrator). This is especially true if you plan on being cremated. One child thinks cremation is the way to go, the other child disagrees...let the fun begin. Its not difficult to get someone buried, but cremation is a different story, you really need an authorized person (executor or clear-cut next of kin ie spouse to authorize it). And whatever you do, don't put your funeral wishes in your will, because its often not read until well after your funeral!! My suggestion is get a power of attorney (health and finance), get an updated will, then go tell your funeral wishes to your local funeral director...he's the only one who won't charge you anything...yet ;)
  11. don't turn your back on them there dolphins, rumour has it they can get a bit frisky!
  12. nice report...looks like you need longer arms though :D
  13. I've had good success with them. I'm one crazy s.ob. though, I cast em all day long, including the magnums. Last week -end I snapped the top foot of a rod off casting one though so you have to remember to lob them out there, don't muscle them too much or you'll end up short a rod! Never trolled one before, maybe have to give that a try. I like the fact you can work them at any depth.
  14. What I can tell you is this: When you get one, get it back in the water ASAP and keep fishing!. From my experience, when the fish turn on, they turn on! You may see nothing for hours, and then for 10-20 minutes you're getting hits, boils, agressive follows, landing fish etc. The sad part is, as quickly as they turn on, they turn off. What causes them to turn on like that? Even if I knew I wouldn't let that little gem out of the bag :D
  15. wow, those are some impressive bass!
  16. just what you need, lots of activity to keep the kids interested...even if that activity is playing with brightly coloured grubs!
  17. ya I would say his appeared to be around 15 lbs. The head on the thing was huge but other than that it was relatively thin for a fish that length
  18. ya, not uncommon in many lakes. A lot of the time perch have them so bad you can see them in around the gill areas...no need to fillet them, you can see them if you just look at the fish! Not very appetizing to say the least
  19. nice report and photos. Although I've never fished there (and likely never will), I understand there are actually some good sized pike in there. A friend e-mailed me last week with a photo of a mountsberg pike, thing had a head like a shovel and had to be 40 inches minimum. I was shocked to see it, a personal best for him.
  20. very nice! by the way, that snail probably makes for some fine smallie bait, just don't let your son see you "de-shell" it and place on hook!
  21. Rizzo

    !

zoinks! thats one heck of a healthy looking fish!
  22. ...one can only hope (man this is gonna get me in trouble with our carpin' friends on this board)
  23. real nice bass boys
  24. do you think maybe they meant to say pounds??? If not, that's a ludicrous amount of carp!
  25. wow, you've got a real angler on your hands there! Very nice report
