  1. good time to buy in barrie. Prices are down from a couple of years ago and there is a ton on the market. Many houses for sale with very few buyers at this time of year. If you look around enough you will find a great deal (ps my house is for sale!)
  2. charity event, costs $80.00 per hole, runs from noon til 3 p.m. starting at the southshore centre on lakeshore drive. $ goes to a Gilda's Club which they are starting up in Barrie. I had a friend last year who won $100 last year on a dink perch because so few fish got caught! Biggest perch last year apparently won an aluminum boat.
  3. nice report. Those jacks can be a ton of fun when they are busting the bait like that, pretty good fighters too! Yellow bucktail jig always did the trick for me when it came to schooled up jacks.
  4. good luck, think I'm going to enter the tournie on kempenfelt bay tomorrow
  5. I'm very afraid! Last summer before all these reports became known there was someone who fished our small cottage lake using crayfish and leeches from that area! I'm hoping I'll still have some fishing to do.
  6. I'm with Mike the Pike, where's the Minimus shot! Nice whitefish btw
  7. very nice pike through the ice. All that pressure and serious fish just keep showing up
  8. week-ends are usually slow, just wait till everyone gets back to work and turns on their computer!
  9. c'mon clive, them cudas are bait either way I'm jealous! Have fun in Cozumel
  10. good stuff. My first time ice fishing was on that lake. Nice little spot, pike aren't too big but quite accomodating.
  11. good looking fish. Can hardly wait for simcoe musky to start chowing down on those greasy buggers
  12. Thanks for the update Sheri, keep us aware of how you're doing, but make your dad do all your typing, gotta rest that hand!
  13. oh man that is persistence...but you finally won! Funny how a smaller "pole" to plant was viewed as a good thing, gonna have to report that to my missus.
  14. great report, sounds like some non-stop action!
  15. Like Mareen, my one trip a year is Lakair in June, and unfortunately, even that looks pretty unlikely this year.
  16. I walked out last year onto the marina ice to watch some people fish. Saw them catching perch in the 7-9 inch range, but not as quickly as during the open water period. If you come up this way, you will see a lot of huts out by Minet's Point but few or none by the marina. People by the marina are just doing the one day thing.
  17. wow, scary stuff Lew. The timing of my reading your post is a bit ironic. A guy flew past me on the highway yesterday in poor weather, I said to my passenger that if he gets in an accident, I am not going to stop. Call me cold hearted, but this idiot was asking for trouble.
  18. stick'er on a 40 foot coat hanger and you'll do just fine
  19. nice shelter you got going there, practically a "Four Seasons" on ice. Just need some slippers, a fuzzy robe and a paper delivered each morning.
  20. go get 'em! I haven't been out yet, need to hear about other's successes.
  21. Might have lots of views because people thought this was a report on fishing in Rosseau...I know I did. Perhaps it was the "rosseau report" in the title that made me think this. Sorry, can't help you on the conditions.
  22. great videos Terry. I've got a camera as well and let me tell you it seriously cuts into my fishing time! Too fun just to watch.
  23. not sure why this is such a bad thing...unless you were planning on returning them which I've never heard of anyone doing. These receipts just end up as more litter on the ice with the plastic bags and cardboard boxes people are kind enough too leave behind.
