Leaking basement (Foundation wall)
crappieperchhunter replied to buckster's topic in General Discussion
Thx for sharing that vtbass. I know exactly how you feel when you say it's the best $6000 you ever spent. There is no price tag on peace of mind. -
I use to order direct from them because finding stuff locally was a PITA. However a bait shop near the cottage carries there stuff now. So if I go up on the weekend and talk to Mark he usually has my order waiting for me the following weekend. BTW ordering direct was dead easy....good service... no complaints. It's just cheaper to get my stuff local now.

Bill honestly try the lunker grip jigheads lunker city makes specifically for the finesse minnow and shad bodies. Most times you will be replacing a body that is all beat up before the fish actually pull it off the jighead. I did the super glue thing for years...but haven't since I discovered these jigheads. They also have the sharpest and longest lasting sharpness of any panfish sized jigheads I have ever tried. Only drawback is the smaller sized heads only come unpainted...but after years of using them I have come to realize the fish don't really care.

I was given some last fall while perch fishing. Tried them head to head that day with the Finesse baits. The Finesse baits out fished them by a large margin. Gave them another shot through the ice this winter. Same results. Perhaps it was just those 2 days in particular that the fish preferred the Finesse. I will keep trying them. Just don't have much confidence in them after my first 2 attempts.

Has anyone or any group tried to promote alternative species? I have a cottage in the Kawartha's and haven't harvested a walleye from up there in over 5 years maybe 10. Still fish them a little but let them all go. If I want a feed of fish I go after crappies, bluegills or perch and even keep the odd smallie. Lotsa pike up on Nip still I assume. I actually prefer eating them over walleye. And I see reports and pictures of decent perch. Just throwing that out there. Might be a good idea to try and change a few people's minds and point them in a different direction to help the walleye fishery recover. And as others have mentioned...good to hear from you crosshairs. Makes the haters realize we all get up in the morning and put on our pants one leg at a time.

My brother towed with his Caravan. Nothing heavy and not any long distances. He got 4-5 years out of it before he threw in the towel. Said he never buy another one ever. So be bought an Envoy and it's been a total disaster too. He just can't win.

Great shot. It looks like he is right into it too. Or is he getting ready to rip out a page to do his "paperwork" with...lol? Seeing as there is no toilet paper in the photo.

Enjoy the Day Beansie. Have a good one.

X2. If the FinS minnows or smaller shad bodies aren't working that means there are no fish! Lunker City makes them. Arkansas Shiner is my #1 color choice. I also think there jigheads are the best jigheads on the market and I only fish the unpainted ones.

I am 50 and like lotsa stuff. Anybody who thinks a certain era is the only era to be good music is short sighted. Rock and roll will never die. Lotsa newer stuff to appreciate. If you can't appreciate the newer stuff perhaps you need to pull your head out of your arse and give it an honest listen.

The 2nd picture says to me.."burr it's dang cold. Take the picture so I can get this hen back in the water. Your work paid off. Enjoy the spoils.

After a foul statement like that...go wash your mouth out with soap

Leaking basement (Foundation wall)
crappieperchhunter replied to buckster's topic in General Discussion
Can't help you with any injection advice Tony. I had a foundation leak a few years ago. Turns out the problem was a plugged eavestrough. The water was running down the outside bricks and somehow seeping through into my basement. Unplugged the downspout, instructed my son not to hit anymore balls onto the roof, and never had any more problems. Have a boo. Maybe you will get lucky like I did. -

Good on you Brian I don't have a heater so I haven't been brave enough to get Lucas out on the ice with me, but he's all over chasing bluegills with grandpa in the summer. -
Looking for input on a canoe trailer.
crappieperchhunter replied to leaf4's topic in General Discussion
Although I never owned a canoe I drove VW golfs since 1986 and have always had a box trailer. It has paid for itself many times over with all the stuff I have hauled in it. Racks on a box trailer would be the route I would be looking to go. -

As per Rattletrap2's comments. My 2013 Sante Fe gets between 7.9 and 9 Km per litre in the summer when we are going to the cottage every weekend...so lots of highway driving. This winter the mileage is worse as we are doing almost no highway driving. So I would say highway only is between 7.9-8.3L/100KM. City is over 10. I am very vigilant... perhaps anal...lol about keeping track of such things. My journal in the car says I have spent $2163 to drive 16,934KM...you do the math. -
why are there so many part time jobs in Ontario
crappieperchhunter replied to Oggie's topic in General Discussion
My company has 100% swallowed the temp worker poison pill. Probably 10-15%...perhaps more... of our workforce is temps...office and production floor staff alike. We have people who have been temps for over 7 years working beside people who do the same job and make LOTS more and HAVE benefits. It is want is is but in makes me sick. Just happy I have 30+ years in and have skirted the entire issue. As BillM said the days of a production environment job...GM...being a sure thing for a healthy retirement package are LONG GONE. I feel real sorry for anyone born after 1990. I know that is a broad statement but I think anyone working in my type of environment will understand. -

X2 for the Sante Fe. Really really happy with mine. Love the extra room and gets about 550-650KM per tank. I must add that it is only 1 year old though..so I can't comment on how well they stand the test of time. I know several people who own them and all are happy. The other Plus for me anyway is the dealership has been 100% great to deal with. Debbe drives a 2005 Accent so we have been dealing with them since 2005. I see lots of Santa Fe's on the lot that aren't very old and are well within your price range. -
I actually think Strombo will do fine. Just something the hockey folks will have to warm up to.
