Floyds huts are orange. They have a good operation as well. Tim Hales is booked every weekend, but can usually get a weekday hut. Not sure about Floyd hales. Floyd Hales also has huts on the trout grounds, Tims does not....YET. S.

I look at life a lot different than most of you. Cost of boat: $20K What boat is worth to me: PRICELESS End of story. Simpe, eh? S. -
My motto is you won't know if you don't go. I live for adventure. I tried some new spots on simcoe this year that have paid of LARGE! Tons of fish. Its going to be a great season! S.

I don't go anywhere without a guitar. I have a 5 day trip next month where we snowmobile 12km to the camp, and my taylor comes for the trip lol.....we have some good times because of the guitars! S.

jacks is pretty good for fishing. It might take a day or two to figure out, but the fish are there. Its landlocked, so you won't have the traffic of the kawartha's, but still has lots of cottagers etc.....no busier than anywhere else will be then. I have a buddy with a place there and we always have a great time there. Let me know when your around and we can set up a jam session, its only 45 mins from my place lol S.

You only live once. Buy the boat. You could be dead tomorrow. May as well enjoy as much as you can while your here. I bust my butt at work so I can enjoy my life. I spend my money on things that make my life more fun. I have never regretted buying any of my toys. Never. S. -
I would LOVE to fish that lake in the winter. Where are you getting on the ice? S.

Thanks Brian. Best money I've spent for a while on fishing gear.

How safe will the Simcoe Perch fields be this weekend
Sinker replied to buckhorn250's topic in General Discussion
The ice will be safer than it has been for several years. One mild day only helps make ice. Water freezes faster than it thaws, so what thaws in a day, is mostly snow, then that refreezes and makes even more ice. A january thaw is always a good thing for the ice. S. -
The Digger mount works awesome. Auger is always right there ready to go. Only issue I've had is when there is deep snow, the auger gets covered in snow. If that's the case I just tie a bag around the power head and giver. S.

Man, I miss doing those trips. I'm over due. Nice work boys! S. -
The ole stick and string never fails. I still use it too. Always works. Great video, and beauty fish!! S.

Good stuff Cliff. Glad to hear your getting out ! S.

I still like my gasser jiffy. At least 20 years of drilling with no failures. ......I use a digger mount on my sled to carry it around. Love it. S.

You can get ipilot in 12v too. If you plan on upgrading, get the dealer to do it now, rather than wait and do it down the road. You won't regret it. Great boat!! S. -
Ice fishing yet on Chemong/Buckhorn/Pigeon lakes?
Sinker replied to KawarthaAngler's topic in General Discussion
Yes he did give away plenty of information, Lew. I have seen it so many times now where a simple reply on this very board has caused a major increase in anglers in a specific area, and it has happened here as well. You'd be surprised If you actually ice fished there. Posting any exact spot is a huge NO-NO. I won't even post a fish pic here any more. S. -
I think its a great area to have a cottage. I had a place in wilberforce for almost 30 years. Love that country. The fishing has gone downhill everywhere, but there are still fish to be caught. The nice thing with baptiste is you have elephant, and benoir all connected together. Its great. TONS of pike, I mean tons. Walleye are there too, but you will have to figure them out. There used to even be lakers in there. Thousands of other great lakes within a short distance too. I'm sure you will love it. S.

Most of my fishing now is done with my better half, so when I do get to go solo, I actually catch fish, so yeah, I like fishing solo LOL S.

I used to always fish on xmas day, before I had kids. I always got some sort of new fishing gear I just HAD to try out that day....lol I plan to fish as many days as my body can handle from boxing day to jan. 4th though..... S.

Nice to hear from you Garry. I would love to sit and read this whole adventure in one sitting. It seems like I just get into it, and you end it on me LOL.....keep em coming!! The suspense is killing me. S.

By burning wood I save about $60/month on my gas bill. I'm not saving much money, but I like having a fire, and i enjoy the work cutting/splitting/stacking. There is nothing like walking into a wood heated home in my eyes. Its just a different kind of heat that I love. I load a bush cord at a time into my basement through a built in chute into my basement about once every 4-5 weeks, depending how cold it is, and how much I'm home. If someone is in the house, the fire burns 24/7. I use 3-4 cords a year, mostly oak, some maple and ash. Gas bill right now is about $80/month with a gas hot water tank, and heating. 1500sq/ft split level bungalo with finished rec room where the wood stove is. S.

Trent severn and water levels have played a HUGE role in natural reproduction in all the kawartha lakes. When they get it wrong, it kills a whole year class of fish. Scugog has zebras, and crappies now, but I haven't seen or heard of gobies.....YET. S.

I would talk with Hanco, he knows his stuff. S.

There are still some real brute walleye in there. The lake will bounce back, just needs time. I don't think fishing had a lot of impact on it, but that's just my opinion. Closing the fishing isn't going to make it better any time soon. S.
