Kawarthas Muskie Hunt this Weekend - Recommendations?
Sinker replied to KraTToR's topic in General Discussion
I thought naming lakes wasn't allowed here. Sturg has been getting POUNDED this year. More than I've ever seen. Opener was a joke. Seems like everyone is a musky fisherman now. I remember when people thought I was crazy to fish for musky. I liked that. I just hope these "musky pro's" are taking good care of the fish. I have seen a lot of dead floaters out there, and some of them beautiful, big fish. S. -
I watched long time running last night with wet eyes. Man, some of the best times of my life have been listening to, or jamming hip tunes. What always blows me away with Gords lyrics, is they mean so much to so many people, and all of them have a different meaning to each person. Its amazing how a whole country can relate to words, so deep, and all in a different meaning. He will be missed, for sure, but always remembered. S.

I usually crack the bottom screw, after the engine has been sitting for a few days, tilted all the way down. If any water at all comes out, even just a drop, I change it. If the engine has been used, and there is water in the gear case, the oil will be milky. Time for a pressure test, and seals. Its a good rule of thumb to change gear oil in the fall before it gets below freezing, to prevent any water that may have gotten in there from freezing and potentially cracking the housing over winter. I have the 6spd tranny. I can't say I notice it at all. Also have dual exhaust, but don't they all now? It sure grunts more in tow mode. S.

MIne doesn't go into MDS when in tow mode....at least I can't get it to. I don't even notice when it does go into MDS. Can you notice a difference? S.

Just making a point that Akri says one thing, then when called on it, says another. If you think posting pics is what gives you credibility, then go nuts, post as many as you want. I have been around here for a long time, and know a lot of the members here personally. I have fished with them, and broken bread with them in their homes, and mine. We are now connected on other platforms, where we can share info and photos without the whole world knowing what we are up to. Ask anyone who has met and fished with me about my credibility. Ask the membes who have pm'd me for info about my credibility. I don't need to post pics to prove anything, to anyone. I say what I mean, and mean what I say, No crap. Some people don't like it, some get it, either way, it is what it is. S.

I fish all those lakes, a lot, and honestly, they are all pretty much the same. If conditions are right, you will catch fish in any of them. If I were going musky fishing this weekend, I'd fish the east end of scugog, or pigeon. If you are more familiar with one lake over another, I'd stick with the ones you know best, they will all produce. S. -
Yeah, I'm rattled by some punk kid shooting his mouth off on a fishing forum....haha....riiiight!! Why not just tell things like it is? You contradicted yourself in this thread, just like you did in the 100 walleye thread. I actually couldn't care less what you say, I just dont like when people talk crap....all is does is throw your credibility out the window. If that's how you want to roll, by all means, have atter! Still love my RAM. S.

Oh im not sweating lol....just dont like when people talk crap. I think i will go catch 100 walleye now.... S.
-
Maybe its the way you contradict yourself that bothers me so much. You say one thing in one post, then another 3 posts down. Get your stories straight. Good luck with the repairs. I love my RAM. S.

Anyways truck goes in I get a call the EGR system is totally blown. full of soot and needs to be completely replaced. They swap the entire system out and i go and pick up my truck. I immediately notice that the truck is now making a very strong whistling sound...but the dealer is closed. I also need my truck so whatever a vacuum leak isnt the end of the world, ill take it back in to get it fixed...im not impressed but it is what it is....except that on the drive to Georgetown to drop my dog off an hour later, driving down the 401 my truck whistling away boom shudder, throttle control hits i get a big red lightning bolt and a warning to service to throttle control sensor and i throw another CEL....great If you say so.....lol....I wouldn't have taken it off the lot. s.

You had a lot of red flags happen there that you didn't have checked out. I'd say most of the onus is on you. Also, why I went with a hemi. I like the fuel economy on the eco's but they have a lot of little issues. S.

It will also cover your buddies trailer that your with if you need it. They will come with a flat bed and load the whole boat/trailer on it. Great deal if you blow a bearing....a flat tire is a 10 min fix. S.

Advice please on purchasing gas generator.

I'd look for a Honda EU2000. Best little unit I've ever used. So quiet, reliable ,and sips fuel. I can run a whole hunt camp off one, no problem. S. -
Get the RV plus membership, then your trailer is covered as well. S.

Where I live I need a land line to get my internet. I pay right around $100/month for landline, and unlimited data. I don't have crazy high speed, but enough to stream netflix or whatever else I want with only the odd minor glitch. For satellite TV I pay about $60/month for shaw direct. All in around $160/mo for TV, Internet and land line phone. S.

Yup, I read an article somewhere the other day saying Tom Petty's sales have increased dramatically since his death. S.

My batteries haven't left my boat. I keep it in the garage, no heat, I don't disconnect anything, and I charge them every time I use them. If you put them away charged, they will still be charged come spring, and they won't freeze. In the spring, I put the plug in the charger, and in about 10 seconds, the green full charge light comes on. Good to go. S.

Even millenials listen to Tom Petty man! S.

Tom petty is in a whole different league than Aldean. Maybe you missed my point?

Forgot to say, i laminated 2 pieces of 3/4" thick plastic to get the thickness i needed. Glued it together with 3m 5200 marine adhesive. Its solid.
-
I used recycled plastic on mine, then a 1/8 sheet of aluminim where the clamps mount to it. Its there forever. I got the plastic at taylors on hwy 28 north of port hope.

Im not a great singer or player but i still love to do both. Im not big on Aldean....or any of the new country stuff really. I like chris stapleton and i do a couple eric church songs, but the rest i call wanna be country. I dont mind the old country classics, but im more of a rock and roll guy. S.
