A buddy of mine just sent his back because it just up and quit working. Flashed 3 times and never turned on again. So now he has no graph, no maps, nothing......my lowrances are all working ticketyboo......I do like the garmins, but I think I will be waiting a while before I get one. Lowrance has always been my go to, and I've never been let down. S.

After re reading, I found some pretty silly things in your response, and I couldn't resist. Dodging shoals you would otherwise run into?? Really?? Maybe you should just stay on shore? I dunno....I've never hit a shaol in my life. I NEVER troll straight lines. Ever. While your trolling motor is DRIVING FOR YOU, I am actually controlling my boat and watching whats going on around me.....you know those shoals you mentioned earlier?? Ya, I watch for those with my own eyes. Imagine that eh? Spot lock is great, I agree, but I wouldn't count on it to save my arse if something bad happened in bad weather, so I ALWAYS have an anchor, and plenty of rope. Relying on electronics to save your life will end up in bad trouble sooner or later. My grandfather was a commercial fisherman. He never used an electronic device in his entire life. Lived until he was 93, and fished all those years one way or another. Born and raised on the north atlantic. The only device he used was a compass. Never once lost at sea, and always caught his quota before most others with high tech gear did. You can say what you want, but when someone knows how and where to catch fish, they will catch them with out all the fancy gizmos and learn a whole lot more too. Anyways, those are my thoughts on it. S.

If you can't do all that on your own without interfering with fishing, I think your doing something wrong. Leaving your fish catching to electronics says nothing of your abilities. What do you do when it suddenly shuts down and never turns back on again?? UH OH..... S.

I won't own another hummingbird unit. Every one I've owned crapped out on me. Just quit working. I have 4 lowrance graphs, 2 real old, that work perfectly every time.....I use on the hardwater. All this auto stuff is for rookies. Nobody needs that crap. Just more toys to play with. It really doesn't help catch any more fish....Just my opinion. No need for it. Maybe I'm getting old, and set in my ways, but I find a lot of that stuff more of a pain in the arse than its worth. S.

What are miles? What are you driving? Pretty vague.... S.

I love my crocs. I wear them with socks just to piss off the haters. I wear them EVERYWHERE all year long. No shame at all. S.

Hey Brian, don't let that stuff bug you. Just keep on fishing man. Screw em all. Some people are just plain ignorant (more than ever). It used to really bother me, I'd get heated, but its just not worth it. Enjoy your day, ignore the idiots, and carry on. You know how to have fun. Who has time for that crap anyways. P.S...I watch all your vids, and laugh every time. Keep em coming. S.

I misread your response. I thought you said you would put your kids in THAT jacket. I"d rather they had nothing than that thing. Yes, for sure, test them out before counting on them. S.
-
Can you please adopt me? Pretty please? S.

Im not so sure i agree. My kids learned to swim in their lifejackets and both of them worked great. That particular one needs to be burned and never produced again. There are better options out there for sure. S

Watch the video and you might change your mind.

Well, its scripted to be a gong show. I've met a few of the boys off that show, and they are appalled at what gets aired. S.

Yeah, I'd say there is more damage there that you aren't seeing. That's a hard smack to do that. Take a real long, hard, close look at your transom too. Oh, and blow the dust off your wallet, your going to need it. S.

Oh man, salt in the wound!! Looks like a great trip, regardless of weather. Its all about the adventure! S. -
I hate the stupid plugs. IF there is ever a place for a problem, its there. I removed mine about 10 yrs ago and haven't looked back. I also never really understood a quick disconnect for a trolling motor? Seriously, why would you ever want to take it off? IMO, its just an easy way for a thief to steal it. Mine is bolted on, no quick release, no plug, and over sized wires straight from the batteries. I don't disconnect anything to charge batteries either. Simple and effective. S.

I watch it as well. Well, I PVR it and watch it here and there when I watch TV. The scripting is Bull, but the bottom line is these guys are out there catching these fish. I'd love to tangle with one. If you can get past all the made up drama, its not a bad series to follow. Kind of like Deadliest catch.....so much scripted garbage, but those boys are really out there doing what it takes to get 'er done. S.

My thoughts exactly. An accident waiting to happen. Too bad, it happens all to often. S.

Its been a grind for me so far, but getting some action. Won't be long and they will be chompin hardcore. I've boated 2 so far, but nothing to brag about. Lost one good one trolling....got a quick look as it threw my lure......40 something inches anyways.....gone.

Isn't this the time of year you want to be using the hover craft? S.

I vote you for new Prime Minister. An actual thought that makes sense. Imagine that. If only we could get our govt to think like that. S.
