  1. My grandmother raised 14 kids with no hydro or running water. That's just how it was where I'm from. My dad didn't see a road until he was 18, and he's only 63!! S.
  2. Exactly! I'm not sure why everyone is so worried about the power going out? People have survived for generations with a lot less than we have now. I guess some people know how to survive, and some.......well.......they just don't. Survival of the fittest?? Or survival of the richest??
  3. I'll survive just like people used to before hydro. I have wood heat, but I can get by without power for a few days no problem. I think I'd actually enjoy it! S.
  4. I don't care what ya say, you cant beat wool. Period! I've watched buddies freeze their nuts off in their under armour, while I was toasty warm in wool. Its proven, can't beat it imo. I do like the redhead socks. Great product!! S.
  5. Well, not really. I've lost reverse gear. Forward works fine, neutral is there, but reverse grinds. The prop spins, but seems like its not engaging fully. Could this be a shift linkage issue, or you think I've wrecked some gearing inside the lower unit?? Really bad time of year for me to have no engine!! My favourite time of year to be on the water! Its a 96, 40hp mariner, longshaft, tiller. If anyone has, or knows of a lower unit for this, please let me know!! S.
  6. And you need to be north of the french/mattawa river. S.
  7. That is correct. S.
  8. Yep, what he said. I've had a few different brands, and this one is the best IMO. S.
  9. Its cheaper to buy 2 stroke oil!! Yikes! S.
  10. There's no shortage in my ammo locker. S.
  11. Looks great! I usually chop up the hearts and gizzards and put them in the stuffing, then roast them low and slow. Great eating birds! S.
  12. I'd rather have the blower. Definitely get the enclosure for your lawn tractor, and chains. S.
  13. That link doesn't work for me, could you try re-posting it? I use sea foam for a stabilizer. I've never had a fuel related issue, ever. S.
  14. Sincerest condolences. I couldn't even begin to imagine what you guys are going thru right now. Your in our thoughts. S.
  15. Uhg....just finished felling, blocking, splitting and stacking about 3 bush cords of dead standing ash. Nice stuff, but firewood is a bad word to me right now! I should be good for winter now. Have a good stack of maple from last year ready to go too. No clue about a supplier in your area, sorry. S.
  16. I'd love to have someone who knows about these things take me out ans show me the ropes. I have access to thousands of acres of property, and they are all loaded with mushrooms, but I'm afraid to try them, and can't find time to research them. I love mushrooms, but unless its a puffball, morels, or shaggy manes, I don't touch them. S.
  17. Howd ya make out? S.
  18. I live in the kawarthas and haven't been checked by a CO for YEARS!! I hunt and fish, and spend at least two days a week doing one or the other......you'd think I'd run into a CO at some point. Checked on a fly in? Really?? S.
  19. Yep, the city of kawartha lakes allows sunday gun hunting, just make sure that's where you are set up. S.
  20. What exactly is a useful thread?? Don't tell me you come here for fishing information???? hahaha.....Good luck with that. S.
  21. Have you ever owned a 4x4 vehicle? I have had both, and they are about the same. The 4x4 parts may be a little more money, but your not going to be stuck on a wet patch of grass in your 2wd truck. A 4x4 has heavier duty parts that last longer than a 2wd trucks parts as well. S.
  22. I have a 55PD on my 16ft starcraft, but a 70lb would be much better! S.
  23. Wow! That's a big moose!
  24. Yes, below the locks. You'll see other people fishing there. S.
