Kids love dead things. I know when we come home with a bunch of fish or game, I have all the kids on the street over to check it out. Some of them even ask that I dont tell their parents. Like said, if you dont make a big deal about it, neither will the kids. Let curiosity do its thing, and whatever you do, dont be afraid to let them get some blood on their hands! My 11 year old son can fillet fish as good as anyone, and I now have a hard time cleaning any fish or game, because he wants to do it all.....god love him lol S.

Its not hard to tell whos a firefighter here LOL Im with brian and terry here. If the fire guys didnt go out and check the ice, who are they to say whether its safe or not? I bet most of them dont know a whole lot about safe ice, except the Bull the media tells them. Im not bashing firefighters, but what that guy said was just wrong, period. S.

A piece of plexiglass hinged on a wooden shaft works great for holding the suction cup straight and level. Put the plexi/suctioncup down the hole, and the wooden stick to keep it there. Works great.

Tires make ALL the difference!! Its the only part of your vehicle touching the road! S.

Yep, this thaw will only help any ice that we have. Now, any lakes that aren't frozen right over might lose some ice. S.

Whats the difference between grappa, and moonshine? I think Grappa is made with the left over grapes from making wine? Is that where the sugar content comes from?? I know whats in moonshine.....I read it on the internet LOL S.

I"ll third the snow tires. I swear by them, even with a 4wd vehicle. Makes a world of difference. I also have the X-ice by michelin, and its night and day, even compared to mud/snow tires, or AT's. I'm assuming your sliding out of your driveway onto the road?? Put some sand down....or salt....but sand is better. S.

Ive been in a bit of a fishing slump this year. My boat didn't move from aug-end of Sept. Life changes. Single parent, new priorities, new hobbies.....still love to fish. Hardwater will be a good one. S.

I don't consider myself a bleeding heart. I have waaay more respect for any living thing than a bleeding heart does. I would also bet my paycheck I put a lot more back than I take. I'd also bet I put a whole heck of a lot more back than some dumbass telling me that putting A suffering animal out of its misery is the wrong thing to do. I will admit there is a moment, after I harvest an animal, that I get that feeling, but I respect the animal, and I'm very grateful to have it. What I call a bleeding heart is someone who thinks I'm a bad man because I kill animals......they have no idea. S.

All this stuff is exactly why I grow a garden, fish, hunt, and gather. This crap is gonna kill ya's!! I keep telling my kids we're soon going to pack up our gear, get to the middle of nowhere, build our log cabin, and live off the land with what nature will provide us with. S.

I've ice fished scugog on rememberance day about 20 years ago.....maybe even longer. We slayed them! S.
