There used to e a pond north of Waterdown on Middle Road open for pay by the inch Trout. Might be gone, it's been many years. We fished there in March when the ice was gone but needed to fish, a lot like Huzzaba is now, can't get enough fishing. I would call before I drove to any Conservation Area. I would venture a guess they are all closed. Staying home means just that. Ontario is basically closed for business.2 points

Anyone fishing in another country and gets nailed with a fine like this after repeat offences should be banned from ever entering that country again.2 points

I bought a PA14 in ‘14 and love it. The big boat now sits idle most of the time.1 point

It was a pleasant surprise to see a full load of fresh veggies and fruits. Meat was starting to get built back up. No cans of tomatoes, no frozen veggies, had to buy no name mayo. LOL I will survive. Security at the door , people were walking through the store like it was a normal shopping day . All were pleasant and there was no hoarding of anything . Oh, there was no TP or paper towel . We buy those items at Costco, so we are good for a month or so . I want to think positive here and say it looks like the fear/shock has calmed down a bit and people are seeing the essentials will be there for them . I hope this continues.1 point

Unfortunately you can’t just go get tested because you want to. You have to meet all the criteria and I believe in addition to having all the symptoms you needed to have travelled or been near someone that’s travelled. its probably why Canada’s numbers are so low, we aren’t testing people. We don’t have the resources (test kits) available to do so. The test itself also takes 48 hours.1 point

I have empathy for all workers and businesses country wide. We were planning on doing a perch day or 2 at Georgina. We haven't been for a few years. We were definitely going to spend a night in a local motel and save that drive through T.O. Traffic isn't a problem the highways are basically empty. Staying in a room that who knows was there before us isn't happening. If small motels are open? I wouldn't stay in a 5 star Marriot with all that's going on. These are great opportunities for guys that haul motor homes. I wonder how launching a boat with a motor home is doable.1 point

Ah, thanks for checking up on me my friend. I have returned and am currently in voluntary isolation for the next 11 days. As far as I know I am fine, I am not showing any symptoms at this point, my temperature is normal, and to the best of my knowledge I haven't been in contact with anyone who is infected. So far so good but I don't want to risk contact with anyone just in case. I have plenty of food, enough medications to last me 4 weeks and enough work to do around here to keep me busy for a long time. Oh and plenty of TP lol. My goal right now is to make sure I am clear then try to help as many people as I can that are dealing with this.1 point

If you bulk store gas remember that they should be stabilized to preserve the octane rating as well as the additives. The fuel needs to be vented as well as making sure that vapors do not build up in the storage area. Some areas make it illegal to store more than a small amount without having permits and special insurance . Art1 point

Feel VERY sorry for the independent lodge owners that offered great service for both USA and local visitors. After all this is done there will be a big push to get people traveling again. If you made plans just contact them about cancellation policy but I hope this will blow over by summer. I know its hard to convince locals (Canadians) to travel to lodges but some were able to do this just by great services and prices. There are a few lodges that only went after the (away guests). These ones are going to struggling this year to convince locals and others to come visit.1 point

Just thought about this today as we were talking about a trip north to Lady Elenore Lodge (sic) Great prices. My BIL law went last spring and loved it . I'm sure they are getting hit as much as any other business. Call. Get 1st hand info. We need to support all Ontario businesses. That are open!1 point

Hi all, Living on Wabigoon Lake I have spent a lot of time chasing crappie in the past few years, this year the crappie bite has been slow so I have mostly fished for walleye. After good success at Walleye and Lake Trout I headed out with a buddy to try for some crappie. We found an area that we knew held fish in previous years, drilled some holes and despite reservations about being in 19'FOW (usually we go a little deeper on Wabigoon) the fish were there. It was not as frantic as it can be, with fish coming through every 20 minutes or so. Some nice slabs but mostly medium sized ones with a few dinks. Nice to get some panfish action for a change, got a plan to try for Burbot sometime in the next week too. Ultra lite rod, 4lb fluorocarbon line and a small cast master spoon tipped with a minnow head works for me while my buddy was using a similar set up with a small buckshot spoon tipped with pink gulp maggots. I got 10 and my friend got eight. We could have probably got our limits of 15 each but we packed up early as he was on night shift.1 point
