The grass is riz

I wonder where the posies is

 

We've had a half dozen robins around all winter, but there were more than the regulars yesterday along with a flock of male Redwing Blackbirds and a bunch of Grackles in the trees and at the feeder, then last night we had our first thunder boomer

Ya it's here, I was woken up at 5 am by the tornado warning sirens blasting! 60+ degrees at midnight last night, and maybe snow tonight? LOL

Here in the Hamilton area we have no frost left in the ground. I was pounding posts with no resistance at all. Robins, redwing blackbirds and even bluebirds have been here for a while. The biggest indicator of spring comes from the birds and animals.. My daughters horse has been shedding like crazy for a week now..

Still 3 cold weeks to go. I don't know what weather channel you guys are watching, but mine has overnight lows for weeks to come.

Never had the time before and when I did have time I didn't have the energy. Last year was the first opportunity I'd had to get out with an operator, when I looked at what it cost me and what I was saving by not having to maintain a machine, hut, buy bait, supply propane, and do all the work of moving, storing, and insuring everything, $60.00 a trip with nothing to do but fish..... Well fishing is fun again LOL and I love those nice firm clean perch I'm getting from Simco.

The Tundra Swans haven't stopped by here on their annual migration yet, although rumour has it they are less than a day's flight away. The Robins are bouncin' around in packs looking for food, but the Redwing Blackbirds haven'y started their stakeouts on our tulip tree, so I'm figurin' we still got till around the time change before we see its arrival in our neibourhood. Still puts it almost a month ahead of most years....
