AKRISONER Posted November 8, 2016 Report Posted November 8, 2016 (edited) My kids already already fighting in first year midget lol. These guys can handle themselves. Even the smaller guys ie tootoo tootoo has native blood...i learned an important life lesson when i was 6 years old, i watched my 13 year old brother drop the gloves with a native kid from cranberry portage, needless to say it didn't end well for my brother. jimmer Posted November 8, 2016 Report Posted November 8, 2016 I'm sure Matthews is capable of handling himself and Marner has had to survive the junior goons trying to take him out. It's all part of the game and they know how to handle themselves. I like watching the Leafs play with some grit. Whiners can take their puck and go home.

This is funny... I can attest that there is truth behind it however. (For the record my kids have native ancestry as well) My kids first fight was a mix of emotions. Other team cross checked our goalie, my son didnt think twice. That kid had no idea what was coming, and im sure its still in the back of his mind. Funny thing was the other childs parents apologized to us and complimented Braydon on his hockey knowledge lol.

Headhunter Posted November 8, 2016 Report Posted November 8, 2016 hard to say i agree when gretzky played with semenko hit star players all you want, but live and die by the sword. At the rate things are going, "star players" will be given a different coloured helmet differentiating them from others, indicating that thou shall not hit. HH
dave524 Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 Anyone know how long ago it was the Leafs SCORED 4 unanswered goals in the third period ?
manitoubass2 Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 (edited) Dont know but wow! AND HOW ABOUT LAINE???? This guy is unreal! 11 goals in 15 games as a rookie. Almost on some teemu level. I swear the kids got the hardest wrister in the league Edited November 12, 2016 by manitoubass2
grimsbylander Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 This should test Matthews mental toughness for sure. Laine's lighting it up and he has the Toronto spotlight on him big time. If the object of the game was to hit posts and crossbars, we'd win the cup with this guy! LOL I hope he pots a couple soon.
manitoubass2 Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 Sooner or later(hopefully sooner) they start going in. Mathews has alot of talent! But that laine is on another level. Doesnt look like a rookie at all. Its too early to call but if he doesnt get injured hes a shoe in for the calder. Im happy winnipeg got such a talent
DRIFTER_016 Posted November 12, 2016 Author Report Posted November 12, 2016 He'll be fine!!!! McDavid hasn't scored a goal in 7 games!!!
grimsbylander Posted November 13, 2016 Report Posted November 13, 2016 I'm I the only one that hollered That's a penalty! when Kadri flopped on the puck? Geesh!
manitoubass2 Posted November 13, 2016 Report Posted November 13, 2016 Shoulda watched my sons games in the hockey tourny today, geez. My oldest is officially suspended 5 games??? In the nhl man is montreal looking sharp! I missed leafs vrs pens, but I see they lost.???
leaf4 Posted November 13, 2016 Report Posted November 13, 2016 Yeah lol kadri covered the puck and the official penalty was "freezing the puck" I was kinda bewildered at that one
John Bacon Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 Anyone know how long ago it was the Leafs SCORED 4 unanswered goals in the third period ? I am not sure, but they have three so far today.
AKRISONER Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 boys look dominant last night....thats what I thought to myself...when the hell was the last time that the leafs have actually looked dominating...they have already done it twice this year!
tb4me Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 The leafs look great as long as they dont have to play in their own end...lol We still need to work on our D.. Give young Frankie Corrado some ice time..The kid gets 1 game then sat again..They dont want to put him on waivers because Vancouver will take him back so we literally sit and wait..Meanwhile a young tallent goes to waste due to NHL politics..Its a shame to see the kid not play..

Corrado isnt able to fill any particular roll on the team better than who they have playing. its that simple.

Defence is extremely weak. Polak , marincin have been brutal.. give the kid one of their spots. How would they know if Corrado would be any better (or worse) when he only gets 1 game..The kid has lots of potential and up side.
Acountdeleted Posted November 17, 2016 Report Posted November 17, 2016 I don't think the leafs are getting a top 5 draft pick this year.
manitoubass2 Posted November 17, 2016 Report Posted November 17, 2016 ^^^ Agreed! If we can improve defensively this team looks REAL good!
DRIFTER_016 Posted November 18, 2016 Author Report Posted November 18, 2016 I think Reims wishes he had called in sick tonight. Welcome back to Toronto buddy.
manitoubass2 Posted November 18, 2016 Report Posted November 18, 2016 I think Reims wishes he had called in sick tonight. Welcome back to Toronto buddy. He only let in 6???
grimsbylander Posted November 18, 2016 Report Posted November 18, 2016 Let's look back at all the "We should have kept Reimer" posts. Maybe having some of the best minds in hockey running this team is a good thing??
leaf4 Posted November 18, 2016 Report Posted November 18, 2016 Haha rough going for the panthers last night, had a pretty sloppy game all over and the rookies feasted on them, hopefully this is a sign of things to come from Connor brown, I was hoping his AHL scoring touch would translate to the NHL, just took a bit for him to find his game!
