John Bacon Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) Looking at the standings, if the Leafs can beat Tampa in regulation time on Thursday, they are guaranteed a playoff spot. Edited April 4, 2017 by JohnBacon
Acountdeleted Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 Big games today. Not expecting miracles from Leafs vs Washington. Hopefully Boston vs Tampa isn't a 3 point game.
G.mech Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 According to Sportsclubstats.com, the Leafs have a 98.2% chance of making the playoffs. Even if they go 0-4 they still have a 55.1% shot at it and one more point boosts the odds to 73.7%. I'm not a huge believer in stats but this site is kind of cool and it is looking pretty good at the moment even with the tough schedule they face in the last 4. http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern/Atlantic/Toronto.html
muskymatt Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 Wow, didn't see this coming. Ottawa Senators have Clark MacArthur back in the lineup for tonight. Hope it all goes well for him!
DRIFTER_016 Posted April 4, 2017 Author Report Posted April 4, 2017 Hopefully he doesn't get another bump on the noggin.
manitoubass2 Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 Hopefully he doesn't get another bump on the noggin. Slash his knee and he'll get a concussion. He's like that leafs player lupul lol. Out for 8 months with a butter knife cut
tb4me Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 If Boston beats Tampa and Toronto wins tonight we clinch..
manitoubass2 Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 If Boston beats Tampa and Toronto wins tonight we clinch.. Crap the leafs play tonight??? Im off my game
Raf Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 ridiculous schedule washington tonight, tampa thursday, pittsburgh saturday, columbus sunday top 3 teams in the league and 1 very hungry team.
tb4me Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 Well that was a crap show.. Watching Mcarthurs post game interview..Raw and full of emotion..Welcome back buddie!
Acountdeleted Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 Didn't expect the Leafs to win that one. 2nd game of the back to back against one of the best teams in the league with the backup in net. Now gotta hopefully get 4 points in these last 3 games. Thursdays game is HUGE!
BillM Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 Can't complain too much about being 8-1-1 in their last 10. Although the schedule isn't very friendly! Nice to see MacArthur back on the ice.
AKRISONER Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 funny how far ahead of ourselves we are getting. I almost feel as though unless we finish #2 everyone is going to disappointed. I am beyond thrilled that they are even in the playoff picture, never mind battling for home ice. Its going to be tough, but barring a totally epic collapse, and a subsequent total run by tampa or the islanders...we are in fantastic shape. Leafs literally need one point over the next 4 games to clinch. I see them beating tampa in OT Thursday.
leaf4 Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 Hopefully we just run a train on them like the last time we played them lol
mikeh Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 I think the last time we played Tampa we had a lot of shots from the point and screened their goalie pretty good, it is something we have to get to back to, it seems like we are getting a lot of pretty goals and we need some off deflections in front of the net. Tyler Bozak and all leaf forwards need to get the puck up under the crossbar to score when in close, hopefully they are well rested and ready to go on Thursday .

The wildcard team will face the conference winner while the 2nd and 3rd teams in the division face each other. Finishing in the top three of their division gives them a reasonable shot at making past the first round.

Epic collapse is definitely still on the radar.

I feel like a series against Washington would be a blowout. Not much to be gained from that.
BillM Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 Washington has a history of sucking in the playoffs. I don't care who we meet in the first round, I'd be happy just to make it.

muskymatt Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 Yep. I'd rather play Washington to be honest I hope the laffs meet The Caps as well lol Good luck with that.
Acountdeleted Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) I hope the laffs meet The Caps as well lol Good luck with that. You would. See if the Sens remember their version of 'Blue and White disease' where they roll over in the playoffs if they play the Leafs. Personally I want Boston but that's just from a vengeance standpoint. AKRISONER Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 IMO come playoffs all bets are off. Totally different game. in the past 32 years only 8 presidents trophy winners have won the cup...thats telling.
manitoubass2 Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 I hope the laffs meet The Caps as well lol Good luck with that. I suppose you just want the easiest way out of the playoffs??? Sens vrs golf course?
