chris.brock Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 (edited) The rain caused a sink hole in my driveway which I promptly got stuck in, right up to the axle. The shovel was futile. I had to get a neighbor to pop me out. A deer browsing on some of the new growth, taken right off my front deck. I felt bad for the people of Minden, especially with idiots like me taking pics. I would have volunteered to help but there was nothing to do. I didn't see it, but the hydro dam up river, holding back Minden Lk, was getting over-run with water coming over and around it. There was some worry it might let go. the beer store, still open, but with water in the back I put a marker stick in the sand on Gull Lk. The water rose 5" overnight from Sunday to Monday Edited April 22, 2013 by chris.brock

turtle Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 Thanks for the update. I found out today I'll be walking and doing some climbing up and down a 30 foot long washout to get into the cottage this weekend. I don't mind the exercise but the potential dollar signs are disburbing.
