All I can say is WOW! Solo your reports are always a pleasure to read, especially when I'm at work!

And with the Steelhead season coming I know you're going to be a busy man at the keyboard.

Cheers!

Truly an epic report! You caught more big pike in one week than I've caught in a lifetime. I would have enjoyed the report even more if the fish had been handled differently. Catch and release is a good thing, but those big pike just don't look right being held vertically.

awesome.I noticed the bugwear. Were they that bad for Sept? June may be suicide

The black flies were fierce anytime you were near or on shore and out of the wind.

Out in the boat was mostly okay.

From what I was told mid June the mosquitos are thick, but there's no blackflies.

Small price to pay for that kind of fishing though. :)

Wow - this trip made our recent fly-in (Lake of a Million Walleye Report) look boring in comparison (though 30" 'eyes in a small lake is nothing to sneeze at).

Well, this will give me the motivation to start the sales pitch at home for June....I have nine months to wear Amy down!!!

I know that four out of the six of us going are steelheaders too, we should try and get out together this fall, winter or spring.

Sounds like a plan :)
