  1. I just bought a Diamond 2600PSI with Honda engine on sale today for 399.00 at canadian tire. The reviews were good and it only took 15 minutes to put together, fill with oil and gas and it fired up on the 1st pull. It's in this weeks flyer.
  2. As always, you never let me down!!! Thanks once again.
  3. That's awesome Simon, great way for a dog to live. My dog is spoiled also, he gets to spend all day with me at work on the ski hill running up and down the hill, then runs half marathons with my wife and gets to spend the off season at camp living in the bush chasing critters!!! Man's best friend for sure.
  4. This is my 2013 Skidoo Expedition sport with the 600ACE. Wish I got to use it more.....only 600 km on the thing in 2 years!! Only because I'm riding the work sled 6 days a week and the last thing I want to do on my day off is going snowmobiling!! Here's the work sled. I absolutely love this thing. 2014 Skidoo Skandic SWT with the 600ACE.....154" long x 24" wide studded track.
  5. Awesome pics and story as always and congrats and good luck on your new path in life.
  6. There is anywhere from 4-8" of ice up here already on the smaller lakes and making lots of ice!!! Going down to into the -20's again tonight. Putting the hut out on the lake on Saturday and should have a feed of walleye by sundown!!
  7. Damn...I missed that place this year....thanks for reminding me!!! lol....Its only 3.5 hours from my front door. Sweet story and pics as usual.....you are a brave man for venturing out there solo...cudos...that lake scares me!!! We got to hook up for some GIANT pike fishing some time!!
  8. Just got back from my morning walk......this may sound crazy but it was actually quite nice!!
  9. Walleye opener is in less than 24 hours and this is what I awoke too!!! Suppose to snow all day and most of the lakes still have some ice......not looking good for this weekend!!! But on the plus side, there are no black flies!!!!
  10. Watch the ice melt while installing a new metal roof!!
  11. I just got back from camp, the shore line even froze back up this morning, had to break it up to wash the face and now its snowing!!!! Got to love the great white north.
  12. Thanks for the nice read and some nice fish porn!!
  13. I literally just got in about 15 minutes ago from my camp.....had to walk 3.5km through knee high snow in spots.....only to find that the ice was TIGHT to the shore with over 24" of ice!!!! Not a chance in hell of fishing opener this year!!! Good exercise though.....
  14. Believe it or not, but the elder gentlemen that I was with has ice fished the 1st week of June.....now that's crazy!!! Last year we removed my much larger hut on May 8 with snowmobiles....and there was still 2 feet of ice and lots of snow. Global warming.....hmmm..... The rod in question is called a Jaw Jacker for anyone that is interested.....they are awesome!!! They are completely sold out in North America for this year due to their high demand.....I actually tracked down the owner in the states on Facebook and called him at home.....great guy. He managed to track down 4 for me from a small mom/pop shop in ohio who them shipped them to me!!!!
  15. Ha..ha...too funny Mike!! Yes Mike I do have a lot of toys....but the argo and hut is not mine. It belongs to another gentlemen in town here whom I'm privileged to fish with. My hut is A LOT bigger...lol
  16. Yesterday we went and removed the hut and fished for an hour or so. Just crazy to be still ice fishing in May!!! Still 2 feet of snow in the bush and 20-28" inches of ice on the three different lakes we checked. The rivers finally decided to let go about 2 days ago……opener is still in question?
  17. Still lots of ice over here in Manitouwadge....on my way out the door right now to go ice fishing!!! I'll be shocked if the ice is all gone in 2 weeks.
  18. Up here in Manitouwadge, there is still 2-3 feet of snow in the bush but going fast!!! However, the creeks haven't even let go yet. There is still 24-36" of ice, going to be close again this year for opener. This was taken back on April 12 up at Ara Lake up near Nakina and I was unable to drill a hole without my extension. There was easily 45+" of ice then!!!!
  19. 154.9 on the highway in Marathon,ON....unreal!!!
  20. Thanks for the memories.....that was awesome!!
  21. I'm almost embarrassed to say. but we got lost or should I say we went on a reconnaissance mission for next year. When we awoke at daylight it was snowing HEAVY and you couldn't see more than 200-300 yards in front of you and it was mild, so we decided to leave before everyone else. Needless to say we got turned around coming out of the river and headed across the lake instead of down the lake. We should have followed the frozen slush ruts but it was so rough and bumpy we decided to stay just off from there. It was near zero visibility and big water, couldn't see the shore and I left my GPS in my other jacket back at the truck so after 20-30 minutes and 15km running around in circles we finally came across a set of tracks and followed them for another 4-5km only to realize latter that we were following them in the wrong direction!!! So eventually we turned around and followed the one set of tracks in the opposite direction which eventually took us back to the 40-50 sets of slush ruts which lead us off the lake and onto the trail which had hardened. Definitely not a nice feeling being lost on big water trying to followed a single track that is being covered with fresh snow quickly!! Lots of lessons to be learned on this trip, but we persevered and will have one hell of a story to tell for years to come!!!
  22. Well its -17'C without the windchill here this morning, but at least its spring!!!
