Wow, outstanding Brian, you Christened her well!
I'm happy that you're happy, I'm sure it'll bring you many more successful days.
Only regret is I'm not closer, sounds like I'm gonna miss an awesome dinner!
Hi Ric, thanks for the kudos.
The blank is a 13'-6" CTS, 4-8 rating.
The guides were Fuji BYAG's.
Brian wanted a sliding ring handle that I fancied up a wee bit with two shades of brown rubberized cork at the ends with a little bit of red Amboyna burl inserted at the back end.
Looking forward to the report and your thoughts on the rod Brian.
Hi Young one.
While I've done many twist wraps over the years none have been on bass rods.
I will however answer to the best of my abilities any PM' enquiries you may have and will say at this point since this will be your first build, you might find "micros" a little tough to deal with as a beginner.
Ooooops, failed to notice that in my previous reply, but yes as Dave noted, perhaps a little more tension. Also ensure that the winding finish is applied liberally beyond the thread at the tip end and using a "Forhan locking wrap" would also be advisable.
I'll agree with Dave 100%, I always use 5 minute epoxy, allows for a little time to adjust the tip guide straight, can be removed with a little heat and has never failed me in some 30 plus years.
