  2. Well that's a plus. Guess I'm just eliminating the middle man and the long drive to BPS.
  3. I don't trade in used or new rods, I give 'em away to kids.
  4. I'm running some old Fireline on mine Jay, 6lb diameter if I remember right on a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5 (nice reel!), plus mono at the working end, also doubles as a great set up for flat lining steel! Always run it in free spool with thumb on when bottom bouncing walleye, the extra length and medium action are an asset for dragging bottom rigs, soft enough in the tip to drop back on hits without missing 'em, release thumb pressure for a few seconds, lock the spool and set the hook. It's also a great rod for trolling walleye divers and what not.
  5. Couldn't agree more Jay. One of my fave rods for bottom bouncing eyes is an 8' 6" Berkley Series One Steelhead rod (bait caster) that I modified to 8' 2" (shortened the rear grip many years ago). A medium action rod, rated for 8-12lb, soft enough in the tip to know what's going on down below.
  6. Sadly I won't be there Dave. But I do hope all who attend have a great day!
  7. You're insane Aaron, *noted from the warm comfort of my work shop.*
  8. Sorry, I'm having too many laughs to lock it up now Dave.
  9. That looks and sounds terrible, do you deliver.
  10. Sadly we only had the on day on the Notty Tambo, a day I'll always remember. Peace my young friend. TAMBURENO, Michael Paul - Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the age of 31. He was surrounded by his loving parents Tony and Terri, his brother Anthony, sister-in-law Vida, his fiancée, partner and best friend Carolyn Cook, and Basil. Survived by his dear grandparents Jerry and Mary Taborowski. He will be missed by uncles, aunts and cousins of the Hugill, Gauld, Taborowski, Kirilenko and DeCiano families. Michael was a teacher at St. Edmund Campion Secondary School where he will be missed by his colleagues and students.
  11. I was thinking the same thing.
  12. Of course I remember it, used to watch it with my Grandfather every Sunday, couldn't stand it even as a child.
  13. I like it, certainly will have times when it'll be an asset.
  14. Oh my, I caught part of this on the late news last night and for some reason it gave me an uneasy feeling, this morning I know why. My sincerest condolences to you Alex, your family and your fathers friends. Very sad.
  15. On a snowy day with not much to do I came across this old school rock. It has no video, just audio, so if you haven't got 3 hours to spare book mark it for future play back, I've got it playing now (30 minutes into it) and minimized, audio is not too bad. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/N5bwVMItDRo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  16. I have limited experience on Nipissing ice, but I have used Rob Hyatts a few times, no complaints. http://www.lakenipis...ebungalows.com/
  17. Knowing you like I do Joe I'd say Steam Whistle, nasty beer in IMO but good enough for you. Or perhaps some lemon wedges......
  18. The above sums it up nicely, thanks Cuzza. As a fellow rod builder let me welcome you to OFC, I look forward to seeing some of your work.
  19. and you thought it was just me. Thank you much, Sir!
  20. You got me working for nickels and dimes now Rob.
  21. Gee thanks Dave, we'll call it even on the cork deal. Well if you want to come by for an assessment on the required work shoot me a PM.
