  1. I must have missed the remark stating that the picture was of a Coho. Good day on the water Emil, I feel your pain though on the loss of the chrome shark, costly for sure.
  2. Am I wrong to presume that they all taste like spam.
  3. Damsel Fly Brian. Great pictures.
  4. Scary and awesome all at the same time. I'm glad you all came home alive, great report!
  5. First one I'll miss in 13 years (I think?). I'm not happy about it, but there's not much I can do about it short of winning the lottery. I will definitely miss the pleasure of being in the company of all you fine folks.
  6. Solid advice, vertical is my fave go to tactic when fish can be located. Include a few heavy type ice fishing spoons as well and don't think slow presentation.
  7. Welcome to OFC Crud150. What you're holding is a Chinook (King) Salmon, and a nice one at that!
  8. That is some sweet looking water Brian. While I grew up on fly fishing and love it some of those spots would be best attacked with a hair jig on a short spinning rod. Thanks for the pictures.
  9. Sunday house cleaning day..... *yawn* A little motivational music blasting (must be LOUD!) on the stereo. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/KjmCo3DSSvw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  10. A great and heart warming story Dave, many thanks for sharing.
  11. 5 more minutes.
  12. Been getting busy on a rod donation for the Fish-A-Thon for Cancer. Handle is done and the guides are on, just need to get the winding finish on and, Bam we're golden. A quick peek at the handle..... It's an ultra light rod, 6' Frontier to be precise, rated for 1-4lb test, sweet little rod for perch'n or small stream trout'n. Custom handle with all Fuji components. If you're there, it could be yours.
  13. Yep. that's the smile I've come to know over the years. I've never seen you looking happier Lew.
  14. Hahahaha, he's got you there Lew.
  15. I hear it's a good game if you play it fast, we'll never know!
  16. Couldn't agree more. Congrats on a beauty walleye and double congrats on the release.
  17. I know you and all those involved Dave would never seek any applause for what you do but I wanted to let you and every one else here know what a great guy you are. I'm truly blessed to call you friend, you're awesome!
  18. My good buddy Fish Farmer has been selflessly donating his time and boat for many years now to help our mutual friend Harvey from the Golden Horsehoe Club along with the good folks at the Straitline Anglers to take kids out on Lake O fishing. While he never makes any posts here about it I thought I would. Kudos to Dave (first picture holding the Coke) and all involved!
  19. Oh ya, that led to several minutes of uncontrollable laughing, "DOH!" ....
  20. It was a great weekend (as always) and being there with y'all is just what I needed. I had a good time, right?
  21. Yep, post spawn, highly stressed. That's why it didn't spook when you were so close. Not great table fare and to catch and release would likely kill the fish. If we'd had any decent rain lately that fish would be back in the cool waters of the lake recovering.
  22. Given the current conditions/temps, I'd leave 'em alone.
  23. No competition to me, I don't do bamboo. But good luck with your venture. If you haven't looked here, you should.
  24. I've caught lots of spring resis Wallico that resembled yours in colour that also had the apparent black grubs, I'd guess thats a resi too and a big one! I think the first fish pic in question is a Brookie though, but it looks like some sort of hatchery or net escapee.
