  1. No not that bright Jacques but without them Roy wouldn't find his beer. 18 years under USS will be hell for sure Phil. As for Dave, surprised me too that he wasn't out fishing. Don't blame the Post office Terry, I forgot to mail them. They come round couple times a year Mike, always a pleasure to see them. I think he was talking about the fish he almost caught! Don't get any ideas Mr.
  2. Sad indeed and unfortunately it happens everywhere Brian. The upside is you were in great company, I know MJL and would like to meet Victor someday, both solid guys.
  3. Well I had a wonderful afternoon yesterday with some great OFC friends who came by for a visit. Some current members and some from the past, many of you long time members and Lakair gatherers will remember their names and faces. From left to right, Tybo, my sweetie Julie and and Deg (Don). Again from left to right..... Roy, Joey, Ruth (Don's wife) and my good friend Fish Farmer. Lots of laughs and a few beers too..... I hope you get your first Brown Trout today Roy. My thanks to all of you for your company, it was absolutely wonderful to see you all again!
  4. Hard to tell from the small pictures but best guess is it appears to be an old trolling rod (not downrigging) for copper/steel line designed to drag gang trolls (Christmas trees, Cow Bells) for Lake Trout. Very common and easy to find at most flea markets.
  5. Another of my fave bands covering Joy Division. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/euzbd8_h0Q4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> or by New order.... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MhNDKZmxRLM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> ...or an abbreviated version with Ian Muclloch of "Echo and the Bunnymen" fame. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/98JdCydW3sQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> and why not, a little Echo and the Bunnymen. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jvAfrQUgcJ8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/M5t-6qqjtq8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  6. You have good taste Joey. Been a huge Joy Division fan since I was introduced to them in....uhem....1978. Work for the day is done, dinner is on and I'm currently kicking back with...... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/TGObF2q63Ew" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  7. A female dog ensures I never have to cut the back lawn, truth is I can't even get to to grow.
  8. Given the pressure on southern Ontario tribs, up to date reports is foolish at best!
  9. It gets me through the house cleaning chores, maximum decibel level of course. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2VlatGRVDBk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  11. Oh my! Did you subdue that beast on the "Punisher" Dave?
  12. Work is done for the day, you're second on the list and moving up fast.
  13. I've found over the years that they're typically at their peak around the trout opener Brian, but this year has been anything but typical. My buddy who harvests them big time on our Brookie creek (his back yard) has not seen any yet, as of today.
  14. Mine too, it ain't pretty per say but after years of painted trailers I opted to spend a little extra for it, no complaints as yet (6 years old). I know this is of little value to you now Lew but I had nothing else to offer.
  15. Now that was a nice diversion from daily mundane routine at the rod desk, thanks Simon.
  16. Awesome gesture on your part Mike, though I'm not surprised. Kudos to you.
  17. I'll third that option.
  18. Come on Brian, you were offered you just declined cause Mama was with you.
  19. I'm going to keep this at the top of the page for you Ron.
  20. I'll tell you everything you need to know Roy (or not) when you stop in for a beer.
  21. Thanks Landry. I'm sure your rods are just fine and I can assure you that my first rods 37 years ago weren't all that pretty but they were functional and I was proud of them. Truth is after all these years I'm still improving and refining my work with every rod. Thank you Josh. You know where to find me Cliff.
  22. Thanks folks for the kind words.
  23. Looks great Bernie! Guess I'll have to come up and check out the comfort level in person.
  24. Remember the sign Mike, always, and remember you're on my team, team 10. I'm counting on you for some big musky.
  25. Thanks Paul. But I can't take credit for the custom handle on that one, I merely fit and installed it. I believe the guy Ctranter commisioned for the handle is out in Alaska.
