  1. Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it! I stopped fishin Couch a few years ago, as I found that most if not all the perch I was catching, were wormy. Did you happen to find this as well or were those perch pretty clean? Again, thanks for posting! HH
  2. Thanks for the update Wayne... positive thoughts and prayers continuing in your direction! HH
  3. Talent is one thing and they have some, but desire is totally another. Coach can only coach what he is given, it's up to the players to have the desire to win. Can't say I've seen much desire out of this group for a while. Let's look back to the beginning of the season. Is this team not in the position that most would have been happy with? Are they a playoff team? There's a poison flowing through the team and it's called "blue and white disease". The best Leaf fans can hope for is the new coach, who ever it is, is given the free hand to kick some butts and not allow "elite" players to dictate how the team plays. HH
  4. Not gonna matter who's behind the bench Bill. Is anyone really surprised that this team is where it is in the standings? They aren't a good team and won't be until they get rid of the dead weight they carry around. Time to move some assets! HH
  5. Lew, there's a tv show called, "Don't Drive Here". You should watch that to see what insanity is really like! And I do agree to a point, that we do have a problem with people not knowing or caring about the rules, but we also have far too many vehicles for our infrastructure to sustain. Since we are airing gripes, people who don't use their turn signals! The fine engineers who design our cars, made it really easy, just a flick of a finger and presto, everyone knows what you intend to do. Happy Holidays Everyone! Be careful driving out there. HH
  6. Stop wasting cauliflower!!!!!!! The best way to prepare it is to do it up just like you do your breaded fish! Cut it into small pieces and wash it. While it is still damp, add kosher salt, garlic powder and onion powder and crushed black pepper. Let is sit for at least an hour. Then dredge them in flour, egg wash and bread crumbs (we like Panko!) and pan fry until golden brown. Put the fried pieces in the oven for 1/2 an hour at 325 to finish cooking through. Make an awesome side dish with roast beef (PRIMER!!!) especially when you add some gravy to them!!!!! You can thank me later! HH
  7. Pickled Herring is way better then smelts!!!! HH
  8. Actually Steve, you are more correct than maybe you even know! I've heard of some tests being done on folks in their 20's and they have become so used to the sound of an MP3 vs a full format, non-compressed sound, that they actually prefer the sound of a MP3! It's what they are used to hearing! HH
  9. Two more sleeps to Cuba! Our first Xmas away, can't wait!!!!

  10. I got the call "from Microsoft" yesterday. He said my computer had a virus that it was spreading world wide! I told that was terrible. He asked me to hit my "control" key, I told him it didn't work. He asked why and I said because he told me it was infected, I stuffed Kleenex into all the holes on the key board to prevent further spread. I then asked him if he could help me get the cup holder in my computer to stay open. I then called him a fraud, a leech and words I can't say here... It was fun! Just beware, Microsoft DOES NOT CALL YOU!!! Following this scum's instructions will give him control of your computer. Have fun with them and the most hurtful thing you can do to them, is waste their time. Acting dumb as a rock to a guy stealing can be fun! HH
  11. That does sound good Lew! I've never bbq'd it before! Brilliant! HH
  12. Well, you asked for it! I'm a big fan of liver and no one else in my house would even sit on it! So, I decided one day that I would try something different for myself and picked up some baby beef liver. I cut it open like a pita, stuffed it with Havarti cheese and tomato sauce. Closed the "pocket" with tooth pics and breaded the liver like I would fish. (Egg wash, flour and breadcrumbs) A quick fry until golden brown and it was excellent! How's that for thinkin outside the box!? HH
  13. Uhm, just a thought, but at what size generally do musky stop effectively spawning? I know that with pickereye, once they reach a certain size, their ability to create eggs diminishes. Would that also be true of muskies? Are we protecting the wrong fish? HH
  14. I bet it oinked Wayne! Nice fish! You don't see the Bay that flat this time of year very often! Congrats and thanks for posting! HH
  15. Holy cow Cliff! Who knew you had that kind of talent! I guess we know who's makin dessert for our next gtg... where do you put the ketchup? LOL HH
  16. Another Long Point Bay adventure... Mid-70's, we are out on a family adventure to the Bay. We are four of us in our 14ft fiberglass "run about". Mom's sitting right behind me casting a Mepps number 3 dressed. She reached back to whip out the Mepps, but kinda miss judged her back swing. Yup, I've now got two of the trebles imbedded in the top of my head! She whipped it so hard, the drag ripped as the hooks sunk into my head. (now that was quite an accomplishment, because in order to make my mom happy, my dad had to crank the drag down on the Mitchell 300) So, there we are, floating a good 5 miles from shore, with my mom giving me what for, for my head being in the way of her cast! So, dad grabs the pliers and starts reefing in the Mepps! He did eventually get it out and yes, the bleeding did eventually stop. LOL To this day, I can't even look at a Mepps with a dressed hook without getting a shiver run down my spine! #2. Was fishing the Hartley Bay area with some buds, outta a canoe. We were a good two hour paddle from the launch, late 70's time frame. As the day was wearing on, we decided to troll back to camp. I hooked a small pike. I flipped it into the canoe and reached out for it to get the hook out. Well, this pike was like every other pike known to man and it did the usual freak out. (I was using a Rebel minnow bait with three trebles) I ended up with two of the three hooks, imbedded in my baby finger. First step, kill the fish! Second step, get the lure unhooked from my line. 3rd step, paddle back to camp for an hour with a Rebel lure hanging off my finger! Once back at camp, we realize that we don't have a first aid kit, but we do have a roll to TP and a roll of masking tape. I had to cut the hooks outta my own finger as my buddy was turning green just looking at the embedded hook. I lost all feeling in that finger for the better part of 5 years! Yah, yah gotta love fishing! I won't talk about the time my brother sat on a big ole musky bait out in the Moon River basin. Al three trebles jammed onto his bottom. His wife had to put him in the bed of the p/u truck, laying in his belly on their way to the clinic. Apparently, the doctor was laughing so hard, he had a hard time staying focused! HH
  17. Well, if he had a smart meter in his boat at the time, maybe the auditor general would get involved! HH
  18. I bought a floating fillet knife. We were out on Long Point Bay and I mention to my buddy that my new fillet knife floats. So I hang it over the side and let go... it sank like a stone! Apparently it only floats when it's not in the sheath! Never got to use it once! HH
  19. I also really like Eric Cartman's version of " Oh holy night" HH
  20. Youtube "South Park" Xmas, and you will find out Simon! Word of warning though, make sure that the wife is out, the boys at school and Roloff is far from the computer. It could scar them for life! LOL HH
  21. Eric Frolick! Right after the hockey game, it was on to wrestling for us, and there was always the "duration match with Eric Frolick, barefoot, showing real skill in the ring, until the bad guy pulverized him just before the bell! HH
  22. If I posted my favorite Xmas song, I'd be taking a chance on getting banned here! Let's just say that it's "Xmas time in H E double hockey sticks"! HH
  23. Sweet Daddy Siki owns a bar at Queen and Leslie in Toronto - The Duke. They do karaoke! HH
  24. Well, many of us have an affliction that can only be described as GAS! Gear Acquisition Syndrome! We buy stuff and sell stuff, seeking the holy grail of what ever the heck it is we are gassing for. So I thought, with the year coming to an end soon, we could talk about what we bought in 2014 and what we are "wanting" in 2015. In all honesty, I didn't buy much this year, a simple 6.5ft jigging rod and a new low budget spinning reel; that's it! Probably not getting much else this coming year as my fishing time has been drastically reduced having recently become a "hockey dad". So, what did you get and what's on the radar for 2015? HH
