No drugs involved, just a happy fisherman.
Headhunter replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
Rhythm is a terrible thing to waste! Luckily for you, you didn't have much to start with! LOL Looks like fun B! Funny enough, that song is on my list to learn for the coming bar season! Did yah catch any fish? HH -
Well, Terry and Brian are only a couple of pieces of equipment away form being able to do this...I expect this may have started a whole new system! Cool video... HH

I agree with all of the above with one thing to add... be sure to bring a camera along to capture and save those memories. HH

Well, I prefer a hot summer. This nonsense should be "enjoyed" during May and September. I blame that dirty rotten jet stream. HH

To the Op... the good news in your report is that yes, there are some recent year classes that successfully spawned and your recent trip showed that. The bad news is that those fish you caught recently probably won't have a chance to do the same as they will likely be caught by the nets when they reach the right size. We have beaten this topic six ways from Sunday on this message board. May I suggest that you use the search function here and have a read through the many topics and posts. I have learned a ton about the challenges facing Nip in following these posts. Happy searching! HH

Nicely done Bernie...now you just need another cedar strip boat so you have a boat for each motor! HH

Help with my Truck Value (trading in or selling)
Headhunter replied to Steve's topic in General Discussion
I ran into the same situation with my 96 Jimmy recently Steve. The main components of the truck were working perfectly... most of the accessories, well, not so much. The dealership offered me $300.00 for it, when I was buying my Ford Flex. Basically, they were going to squish it and that was that. I figured that they would make money even on that aspect, so I decided to donate the truck to Kars for Kids. They are an organization that supports under-privileged kids and uses the money they get for vehicles for kids camps, books etc.. They take care of everything, including towing my vehicle, at no cost to me. Once the vehicle is processed, they send you a tax receipt for $300.00. Just thought I'd pass that along! BTW - The Kidney Foundation will do the same thing... I actually called them first, but no one answered the phone, so Kars for Kids it was! HH -

Arrrrgh! Ghost net found with 200 rotting fish.

Well, it's been experience that addicts aren't necessarily the most prudent folks on the planet. If it is "addicts" that are setting these nets illegally, it's also seems logical that they may well have been under the influence, while setting the nets resulting in un-anchored nets, nets that can't be found as they can't remember where they put them etc. I won't point fingers as to who's responsible, but I sure would like to see all parties unite their resources in an effort to not only stop this, but clean up the mess that's already there. Aint nobody better to get spanked by, then your Dad! I like that Pickereye shot! HH

I'll second the pool tubes for storage Brian. HH

Congrats to you both Gerritt! I bet the grand parents are tickled pink! Definitely a cutie! Get's that from his Mom! HH

Probably not Bill, but if you leave them in your boat, tied up in or near a public marina, well all bets are off! lol HH

Or the province still charging us every second year for the "fresh Air" program. That program ran it's life cycle out a number of years ago as it has taken most, if not all of the offending vehicles off the road. Today, it is only a tax grab so those of us in the south... no fresh air test in the north! HH

There's a creek the runs on the north west end, that if followed, will take you to a bay, surrounded by cottages. Fish the shore line/weed edges in there as there are some nice largies in that large bay. HH

Thanks for posting the pics! Looks like you doing well this year. And thanks for the pic where you are using a bottle cap to hold the fillets down while you skin... brilliant idea and a great excuse to open one up while cleaning! HH

From what I have heard, the employees and another investor group have bought the plant and it will in full production, if not already. When I heard that Heinz was going to close the plant, I swore off of Heinz Ketchup, the only brand I had ever bought. Wit this news, I can feel good about buying Heinz products again. Ketchup loves poddaydos! HH

She would be well advised to run, should she ever encounter a swan... That said, maybe she was following the goose too closely! LOL HH

I see your point Cliff. And I have to agree with FnS that we just don't have enough info to make a black and white assessment. HH

MNR needs $$$ - Seniors to Pay for Fishing
Headhunter replied to superdad's topic in General Discussion
And so it starts. I would accept an increase in my license fee to help "fund" seniors licenses. To my mind, seniors have already paid enough. Pay during your earning years and enjoy the fruits of your labour in your "senior" years. HH -
Well, the options available for restitution for the family as far as I can see are; -incarceration -monetary fines -community service -weekend time served -any combination of the above. I know that none of the above will bring back the family's lost ones, but to me, her actions were the directly responsible for the two deaths. What would you charge the motorcycle driver with, failing to yield? I suppose that could have happened, but can anyone imagine the uproar had the m/c driver be charged? HH
-
Sorry, the quote thing just doesn't seem to work for me... No Bill, I don't hold the motorcyclist responsible... unless he was tailgating and there is no mention of that in the article. Yes, one does have to be fully aware of their surroundings and one must anticipate the un-anticipatable, especially when riding a motor cycle, but she clearly broke the law by stopping in the fast lane of an EXPRESSWAY! What we don't know is if she locked up the brakes to stop in time to save the ducks or came to a slow stop. Either way, she broke the law. Best intensions aside, as they have NO legal barring, she clearly broke the law. For that, she must be held to account. What if she had stopped because she thought she saw a unicorn... would the nay sayers still say she should not do time? HH
