Ok... I finally got a few minutes to look into this, as I was not satisfied with what I learned from this thread. (Not complaining, appreciate everyone's input!) First call was to Service Ontario, who then referred me to MTO, who then referred me to MTO Enforcement, who then referred me to the OPP Hotline, who then referred me to my local police division. What's truly amazing to me, is that none of these "experts" could answer the question definitively. That is until, I contacted my local police division. The answer to my question, is it legal for a bicycle to pass on the right is a resounding NO! The constable I spoke with, said that a bike on the road is under the same rules of the road as any other vehicle and that passing on the right, whether the vehicle being passed is moving or not, is ILLEGAL!!!!!! So, I will get a smidge of satisfaction the next time this happens and I inform my two wheeled friend that they are breaking the law. I know it's not gonna stop them from calling me an annul orifice as they ride into the sunset (or next set of lights!) but I will happy to let them know that at least this annul orifice has his poop together! HH

There may not be anything I can do to stop it, but I would like to know that I am either in the right or not. Chances are pretty good that I'll meet up with the cyclist at the next stop and I sure would like to know that I am in the right, so to speak! HH

Ok Bill, but if they are passing me on the right, while I am in the right lane, are they not passing on the right and is that not illegal? Yah Terry, that's another one that gets me going... and they will be the first to get in your face if they perceive that a car has gotten in their right of way. HH

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me... I am wondering if there are any laws being broken, when a bicyclist tries to pass me, on the right at a stop or red light. I know that anyone who has ever driven, has had to deal with the folks on bikes, riding up the curb in order to get to the front of the line at a stop. I'll admit, It DRIVES ME NUTS!!!! I have already taken the extra precaution when I passed them the first time and now I am going to have to do it again. Now, I am not talking about road ways that have a bike lane, I am asking about streets or roads without one. Are these cyclists breaking the law? I sure would like to know so that I can have a civilized and informed conversation while we each jockey for position on the already busy roads. Thanks, HH

I had that problem with my Jimmy. the only solution that worked and temporarily at that, was having the tires re-seated on the rims. Aluminum expands and contracts much more than steel, with temp changes, at least that's what I was told. It was a pain in the bottom, but mostly happened during the fall, winter and spring, when there were fairly drastic temp changes. HH

Well, I can once again re-focus my support to the Leafs, now that Ottawa is out. I can't believe I am saying this, but the run Ottawa took and their play during the playoffs was inspirational. It was a fun run! HH

Interesting article on Electricity in Ontario NF

Who wants the turbines? The company that manufactures turbines wants the province to buy them. They have better connections then the rest of us! HH -
Or, simply get the smaller versions of the boards, for smaller water. HH

Economies of scale come into play here... HH -
If you are like me and fed up with hydro rates and over all government waste and mismanagement, then have a read through this article. Looks like we are going to be in it for some time to come, if we can actually make enough money to eventually pay for all this! www.windontario.ca HH

Offshore boards and the OR16 clip installed in the centre position. The board will never come loose and you will not have to pull all the lines in, after catching a 12 inch fish, to re-set everything after you turn around to grab the board. I have Church boards as well and they work fine. I prefer Offshore as the flag makes seeing the boards easier, especially in rough water and if it's too rough, just drop the flag and it will preform, just like a church board. Just reel the fish in, until the board gets to the boat, keep the line tight, un-hook the board and reel down to where the board was, offering no slack line. Again, having the board release with a fish on is crazy, especially when running multiple boards/lines. HH

So, I have to wonder how much the folks who live behind me are taking in... 16 kids in one house!!!!!!! HH

With the regs being what there are on Nip, the smoker won't get a work out Emil! You may want to consider another location. HH -
They want the money under their control so that given the right circumstance, they can steal from that fund, to pay for something else. HH

The Liberal party of Toronto....
Headhunter replied to lookinforwalleye's topic in General Discussion
I won't be at all surprised when the government announces that they are going to be implementing M.U.D. as the NDP did, under Bob Rae. (Mandatory Un-paid Days) I also don't think the Liberals give one hoot about the teachers going out, as folks walking the picket line, don't get paid. The gov can save a lot of money, the longer these folks stay off the job. HH -
Been told by my neighbours who are dog walkers that ticks have been found recently in my area of Scarborough. Not a pleasant occurrence. Thanks for the reminder OP. HH

The only difference between Hudak and Uncle Katy is that Hudak was dumb enough to be honest about the provinces finances and how he was going to deal with the short fall. Uncle Katy simply told the unions what they wanted to hear, in order to win the election. Anyone with half a brain had to know that regardless of who won the election, the crap was going to hit the fan. HH

Repurposing of Pickering Nuclear Plant
Headhunter replied to John Bacon's topic in General Discussion
On a serious note, isn't the reactor at Chalk River way past it's life expectancy? I'm certainly not an expert, but couldn't Pickering be converted to develop medical isotopes? There sure aren't many left in the world. HH -

In order to either re-build it or re-furbish, Uncle Katy would have to sell off half of Lake Ontario! (don't give her any ideas!) I vote laser doom! Day time, laser tag... night time laser rock under the dome! HH -
So we should be saving the eye balls for perchin, just like musky? HH
