  1. Saw one similar at the home show, it was around $12,000.00! Really sweet unit, but man for that price... just to cook at carp/turbot? HH
  2. Hey Blaque... no need for beads or anything else... I run 20lb mono, tied to a snap, not snap swivel, and my lure! That's it! Simple to do and very effective. I personally don't like to run braids off of boards for Walleye's... I like the stretch that mono gives when the fish strike, I believe I land more fish with mono that with braid, of course I'm only talking board fishin, I'm not talkin Dipsey's! Braid is necessary for dipsey's, amoung other things! You also, may want to consider picking up a copy of "The Precision Trolling guide". It will outline all of the techniques discussed and also provide you with depth charts for most of the popular cranks available. HH
  3. Just remember when running multiple boards, say three per side, to run your most shallow running bait on the outside board and deeper for the middle board and deepest for your inside board. That way when you hook a fish on the outside board, you won't have to reel in the other two boards on the same side. We usually run the lead core lines off the inside board... they tend to run baits deeper. I recommend a minimum 8ft rod, heavy action... Shimano TDR rods are good strong rods and pretty cheap, under $40.00 and can be had at BPS for under $30.00 when they go on sale. As Tony mentioned, be sure to match the clip to your line. After market clips are available for the Off-Shore boards and you can rest assured that they will not let go! Once you start planer board fishin, you won't go back to straight trolling! Good luck!~ HH
  4. Hope you have a great trip FnS! Don't worry, I've gotten over my disappointment but still hope you have a great trip and catch lots of fish etc.... Have fun and be safe! HH
  5. FYI - Salad is not food... it's simply a promissory note of food to come! HH
  6. Another potential option would be Georgian Bay Fishing Camp. It is located very close to where the French enters Georgian Bay. Plenty of water to fish. HH
  7. Yet another example of how this communist government in Toronto has dragged some very sound and dedicated people through the mud! As Tony said, if there was any money in it for them, they'd have all cars in Toronto waving a sticker. I'd make the call to my council member, if I didn't know it would fall on deaf ears! She's one of the leading communist's there are! Keep the faith folks... we are supporting the right people here... eventually it will become "popular" to support the troops... I hope they know that we do support them, it's those imbeciles at city hall that don't have their priorities right! HH
  8. Hey all... just issued by environment Canada, severe weather watch for most of Southern Ontario! Here we go again! http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/warnings/re..._e.html?onrm126 Take care if your heading out on the water or highway! HH Edit... looks like ya beat me by a minute dsn!
  9. I'm sure that your customers will appreciate that ride on some of those "slightly" rough Erie days! Should be a stable ride! HH
  10. Don't worry.. the repercussions won't happen until you get back and they will be much easier to deal with, after a week away! HH

  13. Can';t tell you how angry reading post's like this make me!!!! Lazy, no good for nothing people who aren't willing to pull their own weight, burns my ba-doop-doo! Consider the east end of Toronto covered, I'd take a great deal of pride in nailing them! HH
  14. Nice report Terry and good catchin! Don't worry about the shirt comments... none of them have a tie that will go with it anyway! LOL (You could borrow Irishfield's thought!) HH

  16. Welcome... finally someone to keep Brian in line! HH
  17. If fishing is your goal, I would re-consider Killarney! Although a very scenic and beautful park, not much in the way of fishing opportunities. And I do agree with Gerritt... Killbear is stunning as well! HH
  18. That blows that "Theory" right outta the water! HH
  19. Get well soon Cliff! Glad they caught it and your well on the way to a solid recovery! HH
  20. I too have been there and done that... same size pike, almost the same lure, difference being I had to cut mine out of my finger! Lost all feeling in that finger for quite a number of years! Look at the bright side, last year up at Massasaga, my brother sat on a 12 in musky lure he had forgotton he had set down on the boat seat! He had to stand up in the boat all the way back to the camp site and lie down in the back of the truck as my sister -in - law drove them to the doctor! Two trebles lodged in his rear end, the doctor in Mac Tier was laughing the entire time he was removing the hooks! An me without my camera! HH
  21. In a somewhat relate vein, I recently saw an interview with the former founder of Greenpeace. This gentleman was born and raised on Vancouver Island, in what was essentially a lumber camp. His desire to "save" the planet, stemmed from his experience as a kid, watching the natural beauty of the forest being destroyed by the lumber companies. He did however, take part in the re-planting of the area, which at the time, was a pretty new concept. After joining forces with some like minded people, they formed Greenpeace. He did not visit his home on the island for quite a number of years. His relationship with the now huge marketing machine that became Greenpeace began to disintegrate after he realized that they had no solutions to the problems they were attacking, only complaints. He broke ties with the organization and decided to head home to the island and regroup. Upon arrival, he was amazed at what he saw... areas that had been completely clear cut, are again healthy, growing forrests that could be harvested within the next couple of decades. He is now an advocate working with many of the largest lumber companies, helping them plan for the future, within this re-newable resource. Sorry for the long rambling, but I feel that, getting back to the question at hand... properly managed, it's a re-newable resource that carefully nurtured, can be available for many more generations to come. HH
  22. The lure at the top in the centre is a Spin i didy (SP), red and white. I have that lure in a frog pattern and have had it since the late 70's! I actually purchased it at the London Sportsman Show after being told by Red Fisher that it was a great lure at a really good price! Well, I must admit that it has caught fish for me, but, at the time, I could have caught a fish on a cigarette butt! Nice collection Johnny B! You might want to consider taking them in to a guy on Queen Street, just east of Parliament for an appraisal. HH
  23. I think they made a very good choice in choosing you to represent them! Like any business relationship, you get out what you put in! Best to you in this endeavor! HH
  24. The up side of the chalk outline, is that you can always sweep it up and gulp it down, to try and control some of that nasty after beverage heart burn! HH
  25. Take 'er easy Bob and get well soon! HH
