As Luvtodrift stated, there are many opportunities in the area, none that are really that great! The river in Port Franks has a decent smallie population, same can be said for many of the rivers (creeks more like it this time of year!) in the area. If GaryV spots this thread, he might have some more options for you as he lives just down the road from the Bend. Good luck! HH

You can fish the river/pier right in Grand Bend for Perch, the various rivers that enter into the Lake are all no more than a 1/2 hour drive from the Bend. Where exactly will you be staying? Grand Bend itself or one of the many other spots in the area. Ipperwash PP? HH

A great tried and true recipe! I use my roasting pan instead of tin foil, makes it easier to remove the birds from the grill when their done. Also, just a tip, but ensure that you use a liquid, what ever it is in the can at room temperature. Taking a cold beer out of the fridge and using it will slow the cooking process and reduce the amount of moisture transfered to the bird! HH

One of my life passions is to some day, fly into a remote lake, spend a week in the wilderness, catch fish and enjoy the company of like minded people. After reading some of the threads lately about "challenges" some have faced with these services, the question that comes to mind is; "Is this kind of situation common? Have others had similar experiences at other camps as well?" What do you look for when making a decision about which camp to I spend my hard earned money on? Obviously, a resource such as this is a good starting point, but what else do you do/use to make a "buying" decision. Thanks, HH

Here's my dry rub recipe; 3 parts Kosher salt 3 parts garlic powder 3 parts Paprika one part cayene pepper one part onion powder one part oregeno one part thyme one part basil one part cracked black pepper one part chili powder Combine all the ingredients PS... this is an AWESOME RUB for wings as well! Generously rub onto FULL RACKS and wrap and store in the fridge over night if possible. Grilling: You will be using the in-direct method to cook on the grill. This method requires you to light the BBQ and bring it up to approx. 350degrees. Once the temp is obtained, shut ONE side of the BBQ off. Lay the full racks on the side that's off, stacking the racks on top of each other. (This method does require multiple racks or you can simple cut the full rack in half and stack them on each other that way) Rotate the racks every 20 min to 1/2 hour, putting the bottom rack at the top. Eventually, all of the ribs will have been both at the bottom of the pile and at the top. Continue to do this, until the ribs have cooked through. Feel free to add more of the dry rub, every time you rotate the racks. Should you wish to add BBQ sauce, wait until the ribs are almost done cooking, or the sauce will burn onto the ribs. I have another recipe that does include boiling, but you indicated that you wanted the "dry" version and I think this has worked best for me in the past! Good luck Joey... What time should I arrive! HH

Asked the service rep at my dealership what injector cleaner to use on my 4.3 ltr. Jimmy. Was told not to use any as it will muck up the injector and intake manifold gasket. So, I haven't used it at all! Might be worth lookin into before you run some through your engine. HH
